  1. Hi folks, I'm really struggling to get decent performance out of my Index in DCS. Performance in other simulators is great so I'm a bit confused really. Specs are i7 8700k @ 4.7Ghz, 32GB RAM @ 3200Mhz, and a 2080Ti. I'd be grateful if anybody could share their settings so I can narrow down the problem. My default super sampling in SteamVR is set to 150%.
  2. Starfarce had been in use since, ooh, LOMAC? That sets the precedent, and it's not an unreasonable assumption.
  3. That's irrelevant. The precedent has been set regardless.
  4. Please do. I doubt piracy levels are that high to warrant 4 days.
  5. Yes, absolutely. A month would be perfect. DRM universally sucks, but I'd be willing to accept a longer term as a compromise. That'd get me back into buying things. We are reasonable people, after all.
  6. That doesn't answer my question. Preventing simultaneous login is an obvious measure, but collecting IPs is flawed because people log in from many different locations. Obviously, I suspect ED would rather avoid falsely accusing customers of account sharing simply because they travel. Edit: Oh, and don't forget VPNs.
  7. Okay, I understand that. What's to prevent me sharing my login details with a friend? Are IPs being collected or is a multi-step verification process being used?
  8. Now we've cleared that up, I'd like to discuss the effectiveness of the DRM itself. Yesterday, you said it was to prevent people sharing modules. This can easily be bypassed in a multitude of ways. You didn't provide me with any further answers. What else is this DRM for?
  9. Therefore, by definition, I am being locked out. Why did you claim that was not true? 4 times per year, to be exact. However, I will point out that it won't directly affect me since I don't play DCS that often. I am not arguing this for my sake.
  10. "So, what is it when I can't access what I've paid for because I don't have an internet connection? I think it's quite clear that's a question, Sith. You claimed that it is not "locking-out" of paid for products. If it isn't that, what is it?
  11. Please answer my question, Sith. The fact that this may or may not affect x number of individuals does not change that fact that this is a disgusting anti consumer move. It's not okay when EA does it, and it's not okay when ED does it either.
  12. So, what is it when I can't access what I've paid for because I don't have an internet connection?
  13. I missed you, Viper. It's good to have a more balanced discussion.
