  1. Thanks draconus, whats the name of the external app? Is it DCS Bios?
  2. Need help please, I'm trying to make a bind for the F14 Asymmetric thrust limiter off and cover open, else on and closed. I tried creating a line of code based off what Heatblur has in there for the master arm switch "master arm on and cover open else safe and closed" but I've had no luck. Any help would be greatly appreciated, below is what i tried without success: {down = device_commands.ENGINE_Asym_Limiter_And_Cover, up = device_commands.ENGINE_Asym_Limiter_And_Cover, value_down = 1, value_up = 0, cockpit_device_id=devices.ENGINE, name = _('Asymmetric Thrust Limiter Off and Cover Open, else On and Closed'), category = _('Engine Control Panel')},

  4. Are you certain the ACM cover wasn't flipped up during those no loft shots?
  5. Try using the "vsync fast" option in the Nvidia control panel and turn off vsync in game setting. This eliminated screen tearing for me while allowing high FPS.
  6. As far as I know DCS is going to allocate every bit of VRAM you have no matter what. I can say at 3440x1440p I'm getting well above 100FPS with no stuttering on a 3080Ti 12GB VRAM card near max settings. My vote is for the 4080, 16GB is a lot of VRAM.
  7. Is there a detailed explanation about the new loadout restrictions and the RL reasoning behind it? Also it looks like the floating ordinance issue is still present if switching from a loadout that doesn't require the pallets back to a loadout that does.
  8. In regards to your GPU utilization question, absolutely what kksnowbear said. Also your GPU is currently only rendering in 1080p which is further exacerbating the CPU bottleneck. Switch to 1440p panel and upgrade your CPU you will see a massive difference. Btw have you tried launching the game in the recently released muti thread version? That should help your older CPU.
  9. Such a great patch guys, thanks so much for the hard work!!!
  10. Came to say the above. In the Tomcat at high AOA you use the rudder exclusively to roll not stick. So depending on your airframe they can be essential.
  11. Dayton makes a 50watt bass shaker, i use it with a small amp, both together were under $70.
  12. As Dos mentioned, you need Simshaker sound module, with that software you can customize it per airframe. I love it and can't fly without it!
  13. 27-30" is too big if you plan on sticking with 1080p, depending how close you sit to your screen the pixels will most likely be noticeable. I would recommend at least going 1440p, even if it means you have to dial back some graphic settings. Most people upgrade their monitors once a decade, so bear that in mind when you make the purchase. Say you end up snatching a used 3070 next year for cheap, its going to be mostly wasted if you're stuck with a 1080p panel.
  14. Is there anything you guys can do about the carrier turns? I'm not sure why the carrier needs to turn so much on map that's mostly ocean. Had a 3 ship on tonight trying to do an ICLS landing and had the carrier turn on us twice during CASE 3 procedures, very frustrating. ETA: there is also some issue with the carrier when it turns, it bounces violently sometimes knocking planes off the deck while parking brake is on.
  15. I didn't need to extend any of my device cables since I mounted the USB hub to my chair the wires didn't have to go far. The only wire I replaced with a longer one is the USB cable going from the hub to PC.
  16. I've got an MSI monitor and the setting was "image enhancement" it was defaulted to high, I turned it off completely.
  17. It's a monitor setting,I had this problem when I first got my monitor, though the problem was the sky gradient in RDR2 not DCS
  18. According to PC Builds website thats a 31% CPU bottleneck at 1440p. Are you testing it singleplayer or multiplayer? Other things to try which have helped me in the past, disable g-sync/g-sync compatible mode and enable vertical sync "fast" in the Nvidia control panel, (disable v-sync in game option).
  19. Save for the 6600XT its a much better value.
  20. WD40 is a great rust preventative but not a great lubricant. The best way to do it is take it apart, line the plastic half moon channels with packaging tape, then lubricate with lithium grease on both the metal rails and the packaging tape lined half moon channel mounts. I did mine like that and they have been perfect for over 2 years of heavy use. I get absolutely no binding/sticking when trying to move the throttle from the very top as it would when stock.
  21. Thanks! Yeah I was worried about my headrest interfering with my headset which is why I didn't incorporate one in my design.
  22. Plywood and 2x4's are pretty much all I used. SketchUp is a free 3D modeling software that made designing this feasible.
  23. Custom plans, plywood, and memory foam!
