  1. I have Virpil and all works fine with Z axix (that's brake axis). Same is shown in VPC Joystick Test Tool. @motoadve you don't see this Z in Test Tool? Then something is wrong with stick, or maybe you have some model that does not have analog axis on brake lever? If it is working there, Spitfire and all other modules should be able to use it, for me always works by default. But yes, in parallel to analog signal it does send also button press command, so you can use it as button on some modules. Just ignore that, set it as axis for Spitfire.
  2. Since I deleted that keyboard shortcut, I never had it happen again. I was misclicking while in VR.
  3. Interesting. Maybe it's something to with fuel management, as it's related to the fuel leak. I had fuel lever up, for all tanks, but only rear pump enabled. As for mods/plugins, I have only SRS and Tacview, I hope those can't corrupt missions. If it would help, here is track for that 3rd attempt of the mission, when I didn't get the message (also did not notice fuel leak, probably was slow leak), and got explosion. horrido12fail3.trk
  4. Ok, then I guess all is fine, normal triggers were somehow skipped, so I didn't get the message, only explosion.
  5. Oh... Ok, thanks, I guess I can go with it as it is, then replay after the update.
  6. @Reflected @NineLine no unofficial mods and I had done recently slow repair. Damage trigger seems ok, it happens always, effects vary from subtle to sometimes violent explosion. But confusing is trigger for my pilot to starts speaking "I'm loosing engine power..." and then message to bail out or belly land. This sometimes happens before any visible problem/damage and sometimes does not happen at all.
  7. Hi @Reflected is there approximate ETA for the, as you called it, massive update?
  8. SPOILERS: Yes, that part is clear, no problem with it. Strange was that it happened earlier, did not have chance to do dogfight for end of campaign. If I didn't see Youtube videos, I would not known sometimes you get more out of that mission. I was probably too slow in first part of the mission. And in other attempt, the bailout message was triggered much before damage was triggered. That one looks like a bug, but maybe engine needed time to be noticeably damaged. Please don't read this as complaining, maybe it's more me, expecting some big finale for final mission, ended abruptly shortly after dropping a bomb. But it is good ending of very good campaign. I'm amazed how much I improved flying Anton just with that campaign. In first missions I could barely takeoff and land.
  9. Campaign finished, I like it a lot. Very different than Spitfire campaigns, but loved diverse missions. Then at the end, mission 12. Ended in weird way, I checked youtube and saw others got much more from it than me. Then replayed twice, but each time it's different. Too bad it was never complete, either some comms were missing or they were not synched with events. Mission itself is great, this would be just a bonus immersion. Also in 3rd attempt, 3 Antons decided to crash instead of takeoff, but I guess that's some DCS bug with following as my taxi to the runway was not ideal... @Reflected if needed, I do have saved tracks for last two attempts.
  10. Agree, those would be good alternatives to adding new button binding. Maybe with toggle in options, in case someone likes it as it is.
  11. I'd like that feature very much, it's extremely annoying when you don't know where the pointer is. But to call it urgent or say that people would pay for such feature...
  12. At 3rd attempt I managed to finish mission 3. And I realized why it is so much harder than those shown on youtube. I had few problems. 1. One Anton from my flight crashes after I take-off. I tried workaround that helped in Beware campaign, to move away and let others take off before me, but it did not help, they wait. So that's one less in fight. 2. Looking at debriefing and Tacview, Antons barely used guns! 10 of them that made it there made 9 burst shots and had only 2 hits, no kills. Nobody except me tried to attack Spitfires on ground. They just tried turn fights until all 10 died. I ordered attack for second flight and my flight to attack bandits. Don't know what else should I have done (ordered attack ground targets?). I checked earlier attempts and it was about the same. I saw on youtube wingman and all others were very active for other players. 3. Any idea how to find home base when it is foggy weather and no F10 cheat? I tried with spamming ATC for directions, but still did not see it. This attempt was total mess even without lethargic flights, I have no idea how I managed to survive (whole time had open canopy, also forgot to drop ext tank). But those mistakes could not have impact, as Antons were also useless in earlier attempts. Mission success (at the end jumped out as I realized rudder is completely broken), happy to manage it with all those difficulties, but still something is wrong. Maybe I did something wrong, DCS/mission script bug or my DCS installation is corrupted? Maybe I broke it with time speed increase to 4x? I have no mods. Attached track. horrido 3.trk
  13. I was thinking that next time I go into clouds, I use the compass + vertical speed indicator instead of artificial horizon. Thanks for confirming I had the right idea. That's great to hear! Then I'm off to try something completely different, like helicopters, then get back to Spitfire when campaign update arrives.
  14. After a long pause I got back to DCS and was surprised how little I forgot about the Spitfire. Except landings, they were a bit rough. The biggest problem in early campaign were AI issues in some missions, but it seems this has been solved by ED, I didn't notice it in second half of the campaign. Still there are AI issues, I had few mates diving and crashing for no obvious reason (but very rare). All in all, I liked the campaign very much. Great voiceovers, smart scripting, some missions feel repetitive, but at same time so realistic. Biggest problem was probably missions with extreme clouds. First getting lost going through clouds, which is something I still have to improve. But then expected to dogfight. I think there was just one mission where it was almost impossible, looked like AIs fought in clouds, I was just making circles above, then went back home. But even with that one mission which did not feel as much fun, I improved and got slightly better at getting through clouds and getting a grip after being completely lost. So campaign is great for anyone wanting to improve in single play and wants good realistic missions. It even got me thinking about trying WW2 multiplayer. But I think I need a bit more practice. Next step is obvious, The Big Show is installed, and I bought Audible version of the book to accompany the play.
