  1. I was looking to upgrade my 1080ti to a 3070ti (opportunity with a good price at the moment). Now I've just seen that DCS in VR is pretty horrible when it comes to VRAM consumption, see also more-or-less dead thread: My 1080ti has 11 GB of VRAM whereas the 3070ti only has 8GB. In all other respects the 3070ti should be a big upgrade over the 1080ti, but will the 8GB be problematic with DCS apparently being a VRAM sink? I run a Reverb G2. 3080+ are not really an option due to huge price difference, in which case I'll wait with any upgrade.
  2. Thanks, I've just finished the campaign. Really loved it! However my mission score said 0 even though I've rated the campaign with the top answer. I've exited the mission in flight after the credits and the last "thanks for playing" message, was I supposed to continue and land at Phoenix? Looking forward to the Hormuz mini campaign
  3. Posting counter-experiences is one thing, posting that someones problem doesn't exist is another.. I didn't mean to argue other people's experiences weren't as valid as the OP's. I argued exactly your point that some people invalidate OP's experience. They've made such a good post detailing the issue, even with factual proof that, indeed, the throttle isn't aligned the same in the real Hornet (something that is from both a replica and ergonomics consideration, a potential problem). OP even explains more than once that this doesn't mean it is a poor product. It is just a problem they are highlighting. Yet somehow people attack OP on this (to be clear, I didn't mean you, I agreed with the conclusion in your previous post and am looking to buy this HOTAS despite this thing).
  4. Thanks for bringing this to light with a detailed post and good images, I'm not sure why some are so adamant to discount your experience. "It's not a problem for me so it can't be a problem" seems to be a mindset quite a few people adopt in this thread. That and rejecting reality by suggesting the difference between the real thing and the WW throttle is an "opinion"..
  5. Which VR headset do you use? I'm on Reverb G2 and alignment process is fine for me. I'm also doing the Red Flag campaign at the moment and if I just go battery -> GPU ->radios ->INS alignment (then radio check after alignment has started) I always have the startup sequence completed within the last 60 seconds before my allocated taxi time. Although I can imagine if I still used my Oculus Rift CV1 (replaced last December) it would be much harder to read panels and do alignment. I find after doing several missions in Red Flag, the process becomes almost muscle memory, and you'll remember the first part of the LAT/LON so entering should be pretty fast. And yes always have a quick glance to the top right for the readout to ensure you entered the last two digits correctly.
  6. Sorry if this has been discussed elsewhere - I don't know if this is a general issue with DCS AI (I suspect so), probably not a bug in the campaigns but a bit of a problem in missions for me. I've noticed often in this campaign and the Red Flag campaign that when on glidepath for landing, my wingman will try to stay in formation and land at the same time, which leads to him making some crazy erratic manoeuvres, up and down and sometimes over and under my aircraft. Half the time they will just plough straight into the ground and crash and burn just short of the runway, sometimes they will land in front or behind me. I'm always worried to get wrecked by them on landing which would ruin an hours long mission (although a collision hasn't happened yet.. knock on wood). But it kind of ruins the missions immersion at the end as I'm not so much enjoying the landing as I am trying to dodge this crazy AI pilot on a suicide mission. Is this a common problem? What's the best way to deal with this / is there a way to avoid it?
  7. Just finished the Caucasus campaign yesterday. This was a great and very immersive experience, thank you! I'm new to DCS (5 months in) and after the L-39 Kursant campaign this was only my second campaign. The M-2000C is an awesome plane and I loved the campaign. Voice acting was brilliant, all in all the missions worked really well and were suited for my skill level - and I felt like I learnt quite a bit as well towards the end (in terms of A/A engagements in which I had 0 experience I now feel a lot more confident after the last few missions. Although I'm aware there is a LOT that I don't know yet, the difference with not knowing anything at all is a big step). Really looking forward to starting the Red Flag campaign now followed by Coup d'Etat, before I dig in to the F/A-18C and it's numerous campaigns. Very impressive work and I'm following your website and the forums to see what else you bring out
