  1. I have had the problem since the clouds were introduced with the rift S. ED has asked for video but I do not know if they have acknowledged it as a known issue. As you stated It is incredibly difficult to replicate what is being seen in the headset. It is less prevalent on my G2 due to the higher res but it is a bridge to far for my rig to handle. My complete guess is that if it is addressed it will happen after the move to Vulcan. There is a thread called "cloud jitter and movement" that might be about what you are experiencing.
  2. Incredibly unprofessional to remain so silent about such a game breaking issue. Have the respect for your customer base to acknowledge the situation and be honest about any work you "might" be doing to fix it. I say "might" as there is no evidence that anything is being done. If my tone offends anybody I couldn't care less so don't bother being a white night for the devs or trying to prove what a good guy you are. I simply do not care about you or your opinion in any way whatsoever.
  3. Please attach screenshots of your DCS settings and VR options. Specifically your PD value Let us know which headset and if you use other vr software like steam vr your settings there also. I'm using a reverb G2 and to my eyes it looks ok. Hello Bignewy. Sorry if I had to be blunt but nothing was getting done. Sometimes you have to make a little noise. I have both the G2 and the rift S. You are correct. It is much better in the G2 but it is still visible. In the rift S the issue is clear as day. I use the oculus tray tool and fly with no SS or ASW. I also mostly fly low and slow with the Huey. It gets worse around the horizon line as the issue seems to compound the closer you get to it. If anybody at ED has a headset with less res then a G2 you will more than likely see what is being talked about. I understand VR cant be the primary focus but maybe just a general "clouds" update every other week in the newsletter would help with any concerns. I am fine if this is something that cant be fixed especially if it is a small group being affected. I would just like to know if it is possible or not. i79700K, 2070 super, 32 gb ram
  4. "I find the sense of entitlement here quite distasteful. VR is not yet a mature technology and - currently - expecting 2D performance/detail from a game engine adapted for and not designed from the ground up to support VR is optimistic at the least if not downright unrealistic. Furthermore, volumetric clouds are also a new technology in DCS, still under ongoing development and mating these two in the engine is always going to be a complex undertaking. To sit there and make petulant demands from a position of having absolutely no bloody clue how difficult, complex or demanding the coding that integration requires is, represents the worst kind of behaviour from this community. VR in DCS has compromises. GET USED TO IT." Pathetic in every regard. Don't ever tell me or anybody else to get used to anything just because you are OK with it. It is not your call. I am well aware of the challenges with VR. This was not an issue before so why should I settle for it being one now? Be very careful about claiming somebody has "no bloody clue" when you are entirely off-base. I am asking "IF" they can fix it. Nobody is demanding anything other than a straight answer. I am not going to drop $60 an aircraft if this is here to stay. You represent the worst of consumerism. Take your petulant sensitivity elsewhere. I just want some answers.
  5. "Please attach a screenshot or a movie clip, and of course a short track" IT's VR. There is no good way to show you a video or screenshot. It is clear as day if you just try it yourself. Does anybody at ED even fly VR? This response is getting incredibly tiresome. It feels like nothing but dodging the question. What is worse is your original patch notes for the new clouds claim that the VR issues were a priority and now you guys act as if they dont exist at all or can only be seen by a couple users. Answer the question please. Can you fix what you broke?
  6. Most of us are aware of that post but you have only been updating it on the day of release about an hour before. That is why people are asking again.
  7. Can we get this level of support for the cloud issues for both 2D and VR reported in this same forum? People are asking only for communication and getting nothing yet this is handled in a couple of days.
  8. "If you are seeing a problem this is what we need." Are you saying that nobody on the team has any issues with VR clouds? Just want to know if this is really that rare. It is a pretty simple test with a rift S. Run any mission in VR with the new clouds and you will see the shimmering and aliased clouds that do not have much definition. If you still have any missions with the old clouds the shimmering is gone. i7 9700k 2070 super 32 gb ram win 10 You can start with the default VR settings. I have tested with all settings turned up ,including AA to 4x just to see if it helped but the shimmer and aliasing are still there. I run with no ASW in VR and 1.0 PD. I don't think it is my headset as the graphic issues run from left to right through the middle third of the view and not the entire view. The frames are great on NTTR and I don't notice much slowdown unless I push it with AI objects. I mostly fly the HUEY these days but I have the same issues in all aircraft. I hope there is still some focus on this as it really does hamper the VR experience. The shimmer is even present with no clouds at all. Hope this helps.
  9. Not even close to good for me. Less jitter but A LOT more visual anomalies. Still entirely unusable for me. Please don't claim anything is "fixed". I am even more concerned now that they have no clue how to actually fix the issue. This feels more like a sloppily applied band-aid.
  10. It may have been covered already but I have not crashed since I set DCS to run as administrator. Worth a shot for now until it gets fixed.
  11. Its a big problem in VR after todays patch. Constant crashing after a mission. Not sure if desktop players are having the issue.
  12. I deleted both of those and still experience the crash every time.
  13. I wish they would give us an update on the process. They did say that they considered it a priority but we haven't heard a word since then. I only fly VR and it is a beta so I don't expect everything to be polished but I would be totally happy with just more info on the issue.
  14. Not being rude but I want an update considering that they are unusable to me due to the jumping up and down. I will just install the stable DCS version for now if it is going to be a while. If you know what is wrong and a fix is just a couple weeks away I will keep the beta. Any info on the progress would be appreciated. Please don't fall back into the old ways of beta patches showing up at random and keeping us guessing.
