ok i was a big supporter of the pimax for what it offered at a budget but today im finally going to say , dont buy pimax. ive had so many issues with the build quality over the last few months that have made it some frustrating to use from dust getting on the screen and the face pad falling off to the head straps coming loose. but tonight when i went to put the headset on i thought the strap had come loose again untill i looked at it. cheap Chinese junk. time to start looking at something else i think.

i use leap motion in altspacevr just to mess around and it seems like it would work pretty well in dcs world if implemented right. id like to see a push button assigned to the hotas that activates a finger so u just point at the switch and press the button then u can move the finger into the switch to toggle it. this way u dont accidentally hit switches. i think we are a looong way off from 1/1 hand tracking in a cockpit.

sorry guys ive been away with a knee injury and focusing more on VR so havent checked the forum lately. i recently had a hdd failure and upgraded to ssd drive and in doing so ive lost the profile. ill try to find it for you asap. it was pretty detailed from what i remember.

pretty sure its controlled by the gamma settings but i heard it is a bug

i used to run 2 projectors but unless u have alot of room and money its not so practical. for me living in western australia i could barely fly in the hotter months as the projectors would overheat and the room would be so warm i couldnt think straight. with the cost of globes as well as adding in the screen and having to black out the room from external light it is quite expensive. im currently running VR as i dont have a cockpit for dcs world but i hope soon to replicate this kind of setup.

pimax 4k with PD 1.5 i can clearly read 15 and if i had to really read something 17 is possible but not super clear.

i know of the PSMOVE setup but it require more purchases. i have a trackir so hopefully we can sort out a soulution :P

i wonder if open track will work with the 4k along side trackir ?. i know the piplay software doesnt work with it.

1. lower your graphics settings , this happens when your computer is strugglling to render. i get it all the time as i have a low end pc. 2. press alt + enter to put the vr window into fullscreen. when u first start dcs with vr it only shows on the center of your normal monitor. if u look to the side and click your mouse is no longer over the dcs window and clicks out of dcs world.

ive got to say the difference in clarity with my pimax 4k in 2.5 compaired to 1.5 is very noticeable. im not sure if its the lighting or textures handled differently but its like i have been flying with dirty lenses in 1.5 and then 2.5 is clean lenses. i think because i can turn the settings down more in 2.5 it gives abit smoother preformance but the load times for me are a killer as i have old hdds and a low end pc.

i normally shuffle across abit but yeah have had a few scraps along the bricks. i got banished to my garage because i tend to stay up at night and fly with my friends in greece while i am in australia. and i can get abit carried away in VR while on comms lol.

i just bought the FA18C panels files for $20. had an issue with the pdf quality and messaged their facebook page, got a reply right away and help me sort it out. good customer service and the product is pretty decent by the looks.

get the TWCS throttle first, search around for a second 3d pro and gut it for its spring. i used an old one to put a second sping in my 3d pro and i actually love it now. i fly alot of close formations with friends and the 3d pro does just fine. next on the list is the rudder pedals. when the wife turns her back :D

thanks hans very helpful diagrams. do i need to change the bios code for a push button rather then a toggle switch. ive found for eg the m2000 engine start button and throttle idle/cutoff buttons press twice. once for on and once for release.

im running the pimax 4K with dcs on low settings due to my pc being so old. i still think its clear enough to spot targets and read gauges with PD on 1.0 if my pc was capable to run it at 1.5 with high settings in dcs world id probably not have a job anymore as id never stop flying.

i wanted to swap back from VR to triple 50inch tv's so i can build panels and make the flying experience more hands on. but the simple fact i can naturally look around in VR makes it a hard choice.

thanks hansolo , i had used a few analog pins for pots but decided to disconnect them as it was only to control the cockpit lighting of the mirage i didnt know you could hook up a switch to them. im using a chinese uno and i have a nano in the mail. also thanks yoreh.

yeah pin 0 and 1 seem to cause issues. ill just have to buy some more arduinos to use more switches. thanks

there is a mirage profile on a french forum. will add a link when i get a chance as its what ive been using

i found i actual assigned pin 1 to 2 functions and i think i have a short somewhere as now i have a button constantly pressing on and off

hi im slowly learning the ardunio and dcs bios. i have gotten to a point where i can wire up a bunch of stuff and have it work. but now i have all 13 pins wired up in my uno im having issues with switches throwing the wrong command. i have used a single wire that joins to all the ground pins of the toggle switches and im wondering if i need to do anything else to protect it or should it work fine.

awesome setup , im hoping to do a similar thing for use with vr. you can use dcs bios to get the engine rpm and send it to arduino to run a servo.

so now we have 3 threads a facebook page 2 discords and a whole lot of confusion. why not stick to the first original thread with the facebook link and the discord link. if people are to paranoid to use facebook discord still works with tin foil hats so they can go over there.
