nothing like that yet. just seems strange that every other aircraft i fly is able to fly on medium high settings and the mirage even on low is almost unflyable. i know when i got the c101 it was the same if u had cockpit lighting on in dcs 1.5 as it was more suited to 2.0 just the same as i could fly the mirage in 2.0 without issue.

hi guys im just wondering if anyone has had any issues with fps with the mirage in 1.5 i can fly the mirage in 2.0 with my pimax 4k vr fine but in 1.5 its so laggy i cant fly even with the settings on low and no vr headset. other aircraft such as the L39 i can fly with medium settings no problem. its just the mirage. have spoken to razbam about it but they are not aware of any issues relating to it so seeking the communities feedback. any help appreciated

you should hook some cooler fans upto an arduino and program it so when u turn the cooling on in the cockpit the fans turn on. and when u open the canopy the fans should randomly pulse to simulate a breeze.

Hi all i just wanted to give my thoughts on the pimax 4k vr headset. when i opened the pimax i was pretty happy with the design. very comfortable and light weight with good headphones. i got it purely for flight sims but have used it for some other simple games. in dcs world i find the higher resolution with no screen door effect really good. the tracking is fine but lacking 6dof is a down side to most people and ill admit while i dont normally fly with 6dof with trackir i found in vr i was trying to naturally look around things due to the 3d effect. over all i was really happy with the pimax preformance , but something was bothering me since my first flight. looking into the sky i noticed right away a small dot in my right eye. at first i thought it was a dead pixel so i contacted pimax to try to sort it out. they requested a photo or video which i sent both to them. after a few days i contacted them again to ask for a status , they replied with they can not figure out if its a dead pixel or dust and to take more pictures and videos. since that last message i have not been replied to. i was pretty annoyed with the situation as if it was a dead pixel they would just ignore me untill i gave up or if it was dust they would ignore me untill i opened the headset to clean it myself and doing so void my warranty. well they did end up winning as i opened the headset to find out for myself what it was. turned out it was a spec of dust. and now since i opened the headset i have about 20 more specs of dust. so in the end while i am happy with the headset in general i wouldn't recommend it at the current price point due to the headaches that are involved with their software and lack of support.

hi all , ive just picked up a pimax 4k and im running dcs on low settings as i have a basic pc. I7 930 at 2.80ghz (lol i know i know) gtx1050 oc 24gb ram. on low settings in the game i can fly around and enjoy myself which is the main goal. i normally only fly in a mission i make for me and a few friends to fly formations and talk crap to each other. so far i can do this and the tracking is working very well. my issue comes when i open dcs world or any other game with a vr menu. the fps drops so low i cant navigate. years ago i got a vuzix vr920 and u simply used your monitor to load a flight then once u were ready to fly u put the headset on. im just wondering if this is possible with the latest headsets.

Is there a way to have visuals and avionics separate?

yes you use helios. i suggest looking through this sub forum and seeing what others have done. -
What technology/tools to use for building cockpit?
frogger replied to Fabou78's topic in Home Cockpits
4 things u need really. time equipment knowledge plans i used to look at all the cool pits being built and i understand what they were doing and it didnt seem to hard but without a plan and time u end up tripping yourself up. i went idle for a year and now im getting back into it and i bought a cheap laser engraver/cutter that will be good for making panels and i got on ebay and just bit the bullet and bought an arduino board that i know nothing about. ive wanted to learn about them for ages but found without a board i wouldnt push myself to learn. cost like $10 for a board. -
I have a leo board but want something abit more advanced to work with dca bios to make panels. Switches and axis/ rotaries ive played with but looking to control leds aswell and hoping there is a kind of all in 1

hi all , im wanting to buy some arduino boards but im so confused by the vast amount that are avaliable. i want to be able to setup toggle switches , rotary encoders and led indicators as well as potentiometers for axis control. if someone could recommend a nice cheap board that would be great thanks. i see alot of boards on ebay for under $10 but not sure if they are the right kind of thing

some more testing on black vinyl, the way i would do this properly is create another cut file without the words and cut on white vinyl to make a defuser. then this is stuck on the plexiglass. the gpu button is a button face and wouldnt be stuck on this part however it proved very hard to pull up which is good new. you can see here with the font size so low the middle section of letters is pulled up mid cut due to the lack of surface area to hold those bits down , this is where engraving will work better. button face after i pulled it off the plexglass. id use a layer of the glass with leds and a block out plate in the middle then attached to a push button. and a shot with the button face removed from the main cut out. all up i think if i go larger with font i could make some really nice panels but i would loose out on scale look. i need to find a way to cut the plexiglass nice and clean and without melting it. the panel face with black layer , white layer and plexiglass would cost less then $2 to make if u dont include the machine. the glass is recycled from old lcd monitors from the garbage tip and the vinyl is about $6 for 1m roll by 300mm which would probably be enough for most panels. will keep advancing from here and see what i come up with.

Apparently its not a cameo but it is a silhuoette unit. U buy an engraving tip that fits in the holder. Ive seen other fit dremels into them. This test i did was on painted foam board cutting the painted layer off the top as for clearance the machine comes with a bunch of spacer boards to raise up thiner materials and u can set blade depth but not sure on the engraver head. Ive been told when she upgrade to an actual cameo i get this one and ill likely fit a dremel to it with the flexishaft. Another idea is to cut vinyl and stick it on some white plexiglass

just wanted to share my tests with my wife to be's hobby cutter. its a silhouette cameo " basicly a 3 axis knife for arts and craft" i did some searching and i can attach an engraving head to it to make back lit panels however with getting married soon and very restricted funds i thought id make some tests with what i have. dollar tree foam board. spray paint. black preffered but only had silver the machine and its software and my missus has a handle little tool kit for removing the cut outs. the foam board has a card layer on top and when cut u can pull it off. the size it is able to do is quite good for such a cheap machine. and with the software i had this panel designed and cut within 10 mins. once my spending limit is returned ill be testing this thing with engraving painted plexiglass.

Nah its just a skill. But it doesnt come down to just the stick. Its planned and timed movements with precise communication. -

it comes down to practise. i used to fly formations a few hours ever day with some friends and still couldnt fly like some of those teams. -
care to share the dimensions from that cockpit with us that want to build a simulator from your module :D

Who has recieved baackseat L-39C Instruction?
frogger replied to viperdogsnake's topic in DCS: L-39 Albatros
I bought ut twice and i am able to grant permission to my friend and take it away. Its all done in the module manager. -
does this work with dcs 1.5 ?
-
ive used your measurements to make a quick mock up today , at first i thought there was some mistake as i felt like i was making a miniture aircraft but after looking at some footage and pictures i see the cockpit is tiny. so now ill need to source a 22inch lcd monitor for helios and that should handle the whole mip cheers again

Mate this is great info will the 3d model be able to be 3d printed ?

Where do you guys get your information from?
frogger replied to .30-06 Springfield's topic in Home Cockpits
ive spent many hours searching for data, ive owned replicas and spent god knowns how much trying to make things look like the real thing. what i use now is a metal pole mounted to an old microsoft sidewider joystick with a cv boot from a car for stiffness and a motorcycle brake leverl for wheel brakes. it looks like a pile of junk but when im infront of my big screen tv and im flying close formations the look doesnt matter. the feel however is amazing. if your building it to be modular id focus on making it nice and solid rather then nice and pretty -
and much easier then building toe brakes on a rudder

cable pulls an arm on a potentiometer id guess.
