  1. Oooooh I don´t have time a few months. Redownloading DCS non-Steam version for the trial airplanes and waiting till nightfall for the download to finish would already take too long! The eagle must soar. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=G3QrhdfLCO8
  2. Greetings pilots Finally the F-15E is released, and I am excited about that. But there is no trial week available to test this airplane. I really like to test planes at least one day to check if visual bugs, texture bugs, night lighting bugs etc. are present before buying. Is a trial of the F-15E planned later on, or never?
  3. Hi pilots, while all parts of the cockpit illumination in the Tomcat can be fully dimmed to almost zero, the engine readout gauge stands out always at full illumination and does not dim when turning all the light dimmers down. Is this the way it works in the real F-14 too? Is there some hidden switch or key combination to dim this one annoying super bright cockpit element at night?
  4. Hmm but what would a Jester be without making sporadic jokes now and then?
  5. The Chinook is a pure classic icon. I am very excited now finding out that this helicopter is made for DCS!
  6. That is awesome! How is this activated - I have tried the trial phase of the supercarrier but found no option anywhere to activate these skeletons.
  7. Multi Threading is like a dream!! I was so superannoyed last christmas, bought a nice brandnew graphics card to upgrade from Radeon 5700 to Radeon 6700 and a VR headset... and got not one frame more from my new card, but even the opposite was the case (severe stuttering for example on the Mariana Maps). Only very very limited VR-flying was possible and changing the graphics setting barely changed anything in the framerate. Gave up flying the Fenix and DCS with VR in January with the plan to continue VR-flying when the GeForce 4070 will become more affordable.... and now I know that the graphics card was never the culprit of the low performance! It has always been the weak CPU and the single-core limitation because now I suddenly have 20FPS more and all graphics settings on maxed out on ultra and 1920x1080 thanks to the new multithreading AMAZING!!! 10/10!!
  8. Hmmm it has passive luminescence like old analogue wrist watches? Interesting I did not know that! When entering the cockpit everything is pitch black, when starting the turbine and having it´s rpm rise to 61% these lights go on, even with all cockpit lights fully switched off. If it was luminescence material these lights for the panel labels would also be on without electrical power.

    F-15E vs. F-18C

The Hornet is very slow. The F-15 flies Mach 2.7 Speed: 1,875 mph and has night vision, that´s the two main reasons I will buy it for the pure sake of speed in VR. Tech is of course the next important aspect that makes an airplane interesting in the long run. Nothing beats watching YouTube tutorial videos for hours, writing down systems procedures checklists and cockpit details, having a perfect simulated airplane with endless system and technology (and of course the weapons are very interesting too to test) at hand. But will the F-15 have more or less tech than the Hornet... hm I don´t know... it´s not released yet I cannot test if all sub-menus of the LCD screens in the cockpit are functional, if the board computer and the navigation systems TACANs waypoint programing autopilot fly-by-wire systems etc. are fully functional. Let´s hope so
  10. Can I make a request please? This internet-anti-cheat test program preventing so many beautyful mods only dedicated to make cockpit textures better and in higher quality, or adding better afterburner sounds or a more realistic-looking HUD-glass and whatnot, is waaaaaaay to tight! After putting my new F-14 Tomcat cockpit textures into the texture folder it even refused to start, but always shut down until I re-downloaded the original default F-14 and kept everything vanilla and default. Oh please come on even forbidding to start up the whole flight simulator when I modify a few cockpit textures on one plane is really way too strict and over-the-top. I guess all other modders think the same way.... And MYSE1234: Beautyful new cockpit, that´s the way the Mirage F1 cockpit looks on most photos in Google picture search I don´t have this airplane yet but your mod really makes me think of buying it. Beautyful friendly and bright looking Viggen-style cockpit. The only detail I don´t like in this cockpit are these too flat Philips-screws at the side under the canopy frame, they look too flat too 2D and need a modified normal map and bumpmap to make them stand out a little bit and give them some depth and self-shadowing. Hm I´d love to add this little detail on the NRM.dds files but like I said unfortunately I don´t own this module yet.
  11. Hi pilots, I have found a bug on the Viper illumination. The lights can no longer be fully switched off inside the cockpit. Please consider fixing this in some future update. Thank you very much and have a good flight
  12. For me the perfect icing on the cake would be giving the upper eject seat handles a nice new higher-polygon 3D model (it looks too low detail geometry too angular and is very close to the head that´s why it should be especially high polygon and detailed.) In real-life it´s of round shape and the surface should get some depth too some some nice reeded slip-proof bumpmap. The cockpit is so lovely so gorgeous such absolutest PERFECTION such a perfect piece of virtual art it really deserves this little visual upgrade of the Baker ejection seat. Another nice feature would be instead of using one cockpit texture for both A and B versions giving the B version a slightly newer looking with slightly newer panels and no taped labels on the panels, and leave the good old A version like it is right now with cockpit fixed and repaired by MacGyver tricks and with duct tape and dusty old stuff and hard to read labels inside the cockpit But I think Heatblur is currently working on that and a customizable cockpit, isn´t it? Oh and I would love to load AIM-7 Sparrows on the Sidewinder pylons but I am not sure if this is realistic and even possible on real Tomcats.... if not of course not because realism has always highest priority. Here are fine wallpapers if modders want to make a few new title splash screens, and the comparison between the real jettison handle and the rather flat and low-polygon geometry shaped virtual ones. That thing is so close to the head sometimes even the camera is clipping through it when looking back - it deserves a little visual upgrade
  13. It was PERFECT!!! The best experience ever! You have never lived if you have not tried a VR I have significantly upgraded my computer last christmas, and bought an Oculus Quest 2. It developed some problem with flickering LED background lighting and the battery that´s why I returned it in the mid of January 2023, unfortunately the christmas sale for 400€ was over in January and the following Oculus packages would have cost 600€ or so with the newer Oculus v3 right around the corner (or so they said everywhere on YouTube) that´s why I decided to just take my money back, and wait... I am still waiting And I don´t have any Tomcat 3D VR screenshots anymore I was able to find only these photos and screenshots on Discord, but I can assure you flying the Tomcat is the best experience you will ever have. The cockpit size is ideal with 110% size scaling (but this goes for every game like Half-Life Alyx or Alien Isolation, which was by the way the best game I have ever experience in VR with the mother mod). For the cockpit I am using mouse controls in MSFS and DCS. VR-flying is 100% recommended! This spring a whole array of new very light and small and techy new VR headsets have been announced, but still no final design for the Oculus V3. So better wait a little bit, and choose wisely.
  14. Still the best and most beautyful, and also most ...well in civilian airliners we call that "study-level" when the cockpit has extreme system realism all switches simulated, sophisticated jet in my F-collection. I have noticed one behaviour of the cat that is really strange (for 2-3 times now), when loading four AIM-54, two Sidewinders and one Sparrow on the back middle rail the jet is pulling the nose up vertical into the air after taking-off and is uncontrollable and is not letting the nose down until stalling. Only when trimming the nose fully down it suddenly flies fully normal. Is this loadout somehow wrong or unbalanced? Is this normal? I think that behaviour should be vice versa with the nose not going up when not fully trimming up because this loadout looks very very front-heavy. But I never want to miss my allmighty beloved Sparrow with VSL that can unfortunately not be loaded on the two Sidewinder pylons.
  15. Low-visibility attack mission against enemy helicopters. I simulated RIO only but was not able to lock-on these helicopters slowly circling around over the airfield, even with the MLC switch ---> out trick against the notching...
