  1. Althouth we do not have pre-canned Mission Assignment and Image messages implemented in DCS, recently we tried to simulate Digitally Aided FAC(A) to CAS brief in A-10C . We noticed that message via dataling is badly formated when recived. I sent multiline message that was looked that: My buddy recieved this: I was disapointed that i was able to send only 10 lines in one message.
  2. Yes you are right, but mentioning Markpoint Z I was refering to situation with gun/rockets fired descriped by jaylw314. And in this situation I see markpoint Z more usefull.
  3. I think that Markpoint Z is way better fot that situation, because it saves the position automaticly. I might find good to use HUD SOI TMS aft only when i want to point my TGP directly in front of me, and this is rather rare scenario, because I'm so used to HMCS functionality (DMS right long), that works also in front of you with proper HMCS settings. EDIT: After some tryouts I found this mode pretty cool with LD bombs in CCIP mode with combination od HMCS SPI always visible settings. That will make you always see where your bomb will impact event throu instruments. Of course you need to have your target marked by markpoint/waypoint to see it. And this will allow you to make your dive shallow and drop bombs exacly where it should be with CCIP whitout limitation of poor HUD point of view.
  4. This is how it works in DCS A-10C. Steerpoint (Initial point) in mission planner has always 0 AGL. In mission planner when you create waypoints and set 0 MSL it will goes 0 AGL anyway. In CDU when you create new waypoint or markpoint from coordinates your elevation is set 0 AGL.
  5. Probably it was already reported, but it's long forgoten. LUU-2/B is not working as intended. It deploys parachute just after releasing no matter of the settings. Free-fall delay setting in DSMS inventory page doesn't work at all. (As far as I understand in realistic case it should be set in mission editor or/and by ground crew by radio/rearm menu). The desired Height over Target in DSMS profile setting should affect only solution cue on the HUD in CCRP mode, but it seems has no impact on any settings. The real target for ballistic solution should be over SPI by entered amount of feet. See nonnuclear weapons delivery Manual that I'm not allowed to post for more details (edited) And also I feel that In DCS the speed of falling of LUU-2/B when parachute is deployed is too fast. It also burning out too fast. They should be able to illuminate area by ~5 minutes. In DCS Marker flares like M-257 does not give any lights to surrounding area, and the flare is in fact impossible to spot from any distance than very close. It should be also easy spotable in night vision and FLIR. Marker flares should give less light to surrounding area than Illumination flares, but it should burn up to 30minuts and should burn also after ground impact.
  6. @NineLine Will you revise other ordinance? In DCS High Explosive munition is generally underperforming against soft targets (unarmored vehicles and infantry). In most cases blast radius is too low and effect is too bad. That includes: HE Cannons specially GAU-8 30mm HEI 70mm Hydra rockets HE M151 S-5 and S-8 rockets HE Mk80s bombs Etc.. More over. Training/Inertial bombs like BDU-33, BDU-50s have 0 damage even on direct hit. As I believe Inertial BDU-50LGB is considered as low collateral bomb and might be used as lethal ordinance. The bomb should be able to destroy or significantly damage even armored vehicle on direct hit.
