  1. Hi, in VR is very easy too. This is what I found: In sim_folder\config\View\Server.lua it works the same way with or without VR In line 29 you already have ShoulderSize = 0.2 , so it is activated for all airplanes, so you don't need to do anything (if you are happy with that setting in the airplane you are flying). And change the eyepoint inside the view settings for the airplane that you wish. In a10-c I liked this eyepoint: EyePoint = {0.050000,0.090000,0.000000}, (my true neck) In user\Saved Games\DCS\Config\View\SnapViews.lua There is a new snap view in each airplane: 14, this will be the default view for VR. For example, I have my a-10c like this: [14] = {--default view - VR viewAngle = 75.000000,--FOV hAngle = 0.0, -- (TIlt left/right) vAngle = -10.0, -- (Tilt up/down) x_trans = 0.25, -- (Forward/Backward) y_trans = 0.016843, --(up/down) z_trans = 0.0, -- (Left/Right) rollAngle = 0.0, -- (Roll Left/RIght) The only thing I didn't change were the limits_6DOF but I could put my head outside the cockpit, but to do that I have to stand up or go outside the chair..so I will not loose time with that.
  2. Great! Looking forward for this :)
  3. :pilotfly: Keep your fingers crossed Jcomm :)
  4. Hi, I reinstalled DCS World after some years, and I am still adjusting things to my liking. But if I remember well, I saved the angle and position of the eye in a settings file. You don't need to do that process every time Cheers, MGS
  5. Nice reading :) Would like to know if Pinefang was there at the time..
  6. Dudester22, This the best sim arround and if you are into sims and like fc3 you can't miss it. When I bought this sim I had some doubts because in 2000 I bought EF2000 and I just couldn't get used to it. I tried to do bombing runs etc, but was always missing (there were no tutorials and no youtube lol)so I started flying in FSX and more recently simracing. Last year I heard about DCS a-10c, so I decided to try it. With the tutorials(a little help from this forum and YouTube) I was doing bombing runs and launching mavericks in less than a week. Of course if you want to be proficient you need a lot of practice, but if you just want to have fun, you can do a bombing run successfully, in an easy mission, in a few days. At first I used a joystick and a CH yoke :) I used the CH yoke to control the throttle and the hat button as slew. You can do the same (control the TMS, DMS, slew, etc) with a joypad, for example. Apd if you are going to use the keyboard, just configure these functions to a single key, without ALT or CTRL. Believe-me you can start having fun in no time, at least I did. I never got into this sim very seriously so I don't know if it remains fun for who practices a lot. Next week I will receive my new throttle (bought one with a small issue) and will try to take this sim more seriously. Hope this helps you make a decision.. Edit: forgot to say that I used ipadpit to control a lot of systems with my iPad.
  7. Great thread thanks to everyone involved! Out of topic:UFC steerpoint button
  8. HAHHAHA! I do remember that expression: "with the RAM expansion!!" hahahaha Good times! But on the Amiga I had to share the computer so sims never was a choice. My first sim was f-117 and years later DID's EF-2000. Really liked the manual of this one. The flight model was exceptional and it had the first virtual cockpit!
  9. Great writing HAVOC :):) Ryan, I have already thought about that hehehe TKMR, well FSX is not that great. The systems are simplified, the ATC is simplified, physics are simplified, many addons available in the market are simplified...FSX is a simplified simulator. What I am looking for is simulator that doesn't simplifies nothing. I would like (and many friends that I know) a simulator with real systems, physics of a civil aircraft with a believable ATC. Pickup an A-10 and fly around is no fun. The fun of flying in a civil aircraft is flying it by the book and by the FAA rules. IT wouldn't need to be a civil aircraft, a C-130 does a lot of transporting missions and many times completes a mission without firing any ammunition. There is so much money around those addons for FSX, that I can't understand why there isn't a decent civil simulator. There is http://www.x-plane.com but it is developed by a single person...and even that one is better than FSX.
  10. The Beech King Air! Imagine missions where you work like a pilot of an Air Ambulance or transporting VIPs, etc :)
  11. :) All of you must think like that, the market of military sims needed something like this. It's really good to see someone developing something for hardcore users (whatever the subject is). I hope they're having the return they deserve. Maybe this will teach some production companies.
  12. Congratulations ED! This sim looks amazing and reading all the features it feels that it's a great hardcore sim. Too bad that I'm not so into military aviation sims, but it makes me want to buy it just to feel the airplane (Like I did with IL-2). It makes me wonder how successful you would be if you made a civil aviation simulator. There is so much money being spent around the MS flight simulator franchise that I can imagine the success you would achieve if you fully simulated a civil airplane (the Beechcraft King Air for example). Maybe the know how you have programing the AI would help you creating a decent and realistic Air Traffic Control. The "textures of the world" that i can see in the A-10 look very good and are more than enough for me. I know this is a military forum and I don't want do upset no one, but the market really lacks a (almost) full systems simulated civil aircraft with decent realistic physics. X-plane have decent physics but it lacks on the simulation of systems and ATC. Keep up the good work in making these amazing sims. I Wish you guys all the success you deserve. Martim
