  1. just saw it yesterday and had a short chat. It told me that it is not ready yet and I should take it the Debian (linux) way. It is done when it is done...
  2. Hi folks, is there any timehorizon for the next betaupdate concerning the 50% VR Improvement?
  3. @ked: hi, no overclocking at all all running in automode. Have got respond from support, which tells me that this kind of stuttering juddering is normal for DCS. In which situation do you have smooth 45fps. It is depending on the situation in the sim. For example at the aerobaticsserver I hardly hit 45fps, when running at burning skies it is much better. If I do a single mission with 8 spits and 8 me109, i get serious juddering as the battle rages....
  4. So simply turning off ASW isn't it, cause if you are not constantly hitting 90fps, the scenery gets blurry and you will get screen tearing... and a headache... :-/ Overall bad performance for me at me AMD Ryzen 2700x @ 4.2 Ghz , 32 GB RAM nad Nvidia Gforce 2080 at lowest settings. If I do an offline fight with about 8 planes on the screen, I will always drop to 45 FPS. You can think what that mean, if playing online. Multiplayer is even worse, cause it is using much more ressources. Support told me that this is normal behavior. Hope that ED gets this sorted some day. One issue might be that DCS is not running multithreaded and only on one core of the CPU...
  5. Hi, I am using a RTX 2080 coming from a Gforce GTX 1070. I had massive judder studder screentearing, especially online. Never reaching 90FPS (without ASW). With ASW I got ghosting when objects move fast. Upgraded my GPU cause I thought the 1070 ist pretty often running at 100% load. BUT it did not help a bit. Online and offline -> nearly same troubles. Overclocked my CPU and setted my RAM to the correct speed @ Bios. Offline it gets a lot better (running without ASW) Online -> same bad FPS drops, screen tearing,.... -- SOLUTION -- In the last instance I tried different NIC-drivers for my Intel NIC (original ones from the intelsite, not the one from the mainboardvendor). Switched off IPv6 and QoS in the NIC-settings. (unsure at the moment if it was the nicdriver, or the settings -> but it is running for me!) Now running at 90FPS online AMD Ryzen 7 @ 4Ghz, 32GB RAM, SSD, Gforce RTX 2080 8GB.

Now running at 90FPS online EDIT2: Not at the aerobatics server -> there the problem is still there! Burning Skies is running at about 90FPS stable (did not do it before the "nicthing". I am getting mad ... AMD Ryzen 7 @ 4Ghz, 32GB RAM, SSD, Gforce RTX 2080 8GB.
  7. one short update: just tried a few things in the sim (offline gameplay) now, having oculus debug tool performance monitor running too. The Framerate is at stable 90FPS, suddenly goes to 45 (with ASW OFF!) although there is no change on the screen and jumps back to 90FPS. Most time it runs with 90FPS. So offline its ok for me! If I go online framerate is jumping from 75 to 45, never reaching 90FPS when I am standing on the ground and I get those blurry pictures of the scenery when fast moving, doing a roll etc. Why this is only happening online -> NO IDEA! This might be no oculusproblem, this is for sure a DCS problem. I wonder what rig you need to get this smooth, at the moment I feel it ridiculous and unplayable -> ONLINE! Seems like MP is a resourcehog.... Best sim -> worst VR at the moment!
  8. Hi, you got a hell of a rig and are also fighting with those issues... Well, then I think I could give up. Have got an very strong rig too, but fighting the exact same issues! :-(
  9. Hi, the point is, if i disable ASW when online, then I get judder at the Landscape (motionsickness). Just contacted DCS support a few days ago. Lets see if they respond. Yesterday I flew at some kind of freeflightserver (online). It runs smooth for a few minutes. (only with ASW on). Suddenly I got horrible judder (with ASW on). I watched the load of GPU and CPU. Both are "chilled". Means CPU: 20% GPU: 56%. So, it might be DCS, what causes all these troubles (if you are not at your rigs performancelimit). Just tried IL2 BOS, which is doing better in VR, but I do not like the "sim". THE REAL POINT IS: Whether I should return the Gforce RTX 2080 or not. It is not bringing THAT BOOST to VR.... :-(
  10. Hi again, the whole reinstalling was some extra task, which was senseless. Get the absolutly same behavior. Now, I am really out of ideas. I know what ASW is, but what is MS? Another thing I am curious about is, whether the DCS-support will get active here. I think it will be time for them to do something! UPDATE: I now got into overclocking my Ryzen 1700X to 3.8GHZ, put out 2 of my four ram-modules to run them in Dualchannelmode, then I also forced a RAM-Clock of 3000Mhz (automatically they are running at 2100Mhz, although they are capable of running at 3000Mhz). Still at lowest settings and PD of 1, No Oculus tools running, ASW at auto. Flying the Spitfire Combatmission (which was always horrible in VR for me) shows absolutly no ghosting or distorted gunsight. So it seems some kind of performanceissue -> CPU <-> RAM BUT: What works offline is not working at multiplayer -> ghosting is still there and ASW kicking in...
  11. damn thing is, that I thought of that already... just reinstalled my hole machine yesterday and give it another try today. Strange -for me- that the CPU is only running at a load of 20%. If it is the CPU, I am thinking of going to Intel, return the RTX 2080 and use my GTX 1070 again. Is anyone here using AMD with VR?
  12. Conclusion: CPU: AMD Ryzen 1700X @3.2Ghz RAM: 48GB GPU: Nvidia RTX 2080 8GB OS: Windows 10 Oculus Rift Drivers: Latest PD: 1.0 Shadows:Off All to low except Textures of Objects: Medium Visible Range:low Preload Radius: lowest if ASW is off, I got terrible doublepicture. Not only at the gunsight! Even when doing a roll with ASW off, the landscape gets doubled blurry as hell. With ASW on, 45FPS the blurry landscape is gone, but I get blurry gunsight and blurry fast moving objects (ghosting). DCS remains unplayable for me, even with this high end rig. Its a miracle to me what is going on here! really really annoyed! Dont know how you can get pretty flying with the RTX 2080...
  13. So, card is here RTX2080 and only makes a very little difference. Very dissapointed, what the hell is going on here? Load at CPU during dogfight 20% Load at GPU 80% So in fact there is no huge performance impact if you have a rtx 2080 / compared to a gtx 1070. It is better, yes... but I thought the 2080 will boost it much more... Do not go with a PD greater than 1.2 If you have ASW on, you get (as always) a distorted gunsight. If you have it off, you get ghosting from time to time. (GTX 1070 has it always, RTX 2080 sometimes)
  14. @djlang1978: I am looking forward to receive the graphicscard. For sure I will report back here. Card should arrive at thursday. (hopefully)
  15. Hm, ok but I got 48GB of RAM and an AMD Ryzen 1700x, so that is not that bad? The CPU load is above 20% when flying in VR. You just made me thinking whether the GPU thing was worth it.
  16. Just tried it and get absolutly no difference. If I switch off ASW, then the whole movement is blurry, if I switch it on I get ghosting on fast moving objects. Annoying! Only thing I noticed is, that the GPU is constantly showing up 95-100% load in Taskmanager. So I assume this is a too weak GPU. Hm... I have got an GTX 1070 :-(
  17. Just ordered a monster of a graphicscard. Lets see if I can get rid of this ghosts... If it does not work, I will send it back. Gforce RTX 2080 8GB ram.
  18. Hi, just tried your settings at my rig Gforce GTI 1070 8GB AMD Ryzen 7 1700X @ 3.2Ghz 48GB RAM While flying in VR, the CPU is running at low load, the GPU is almost at 99-100% (and there is no screenaction) except flying around online. So I think, that the GPU is the weakspot. Thinking of trying a really expansive one, only to see whether there is a change...
  19. Hi there, any news on that topic? This problem kills my DCS VR enthusiasm and I do not want to step back to Track IR! ;-)
  20. This thread exactly describes my problem: https://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=218188 And is not solved yet!
  21. Well folks, if you watch this one: you can see that even on high end hardware there are tons of framedrops. So I am afraid, no matter what I set up, it will not be smooth in any way... :-(
  22. @Maverick87Shaka: yes, did not know that. The installer exactly worked as you described. Very nice!
  23. Holy crap, I just noticed that I will have to use the openbetaversion. Hell, means I can download tons of gigabyte again... :-(
  24. Hi folks, I am unable to connect to the burning skies server, because DCS is telling me that the server is offline. Looking at the serverlist @ DCS Website, I can see the server is definitly online. So, what version of DCS will you have to use for burnings skies? I am using 2.5.4.27430 Thanks a lot!
