  1. There is an F4F mod coming as well I mean we have this picture of it, to me this is all you need in AI. Sounds, guns, model, flight model, tuned AI (or however AI flight models work)
  2. Odd, I'm under the impression the Corsair is better than the Hellcat in almost everyway.
  3. What do you think so far? I'm lost
  4. Alright so I've had a few ideas. 1st. Just wing it This would be the most free and easy to make. Basically you just start below deck and to move you turn on your engine and taxi around. Most crude way this would work. Idk how the elevators or spotting the deck for landing would work. 2nd. Tank Commander This would be the most fun or practical. Basically you either have invisible or modeled crew on your wings and you hit WASD to move around. Kind of like a tank. 3rd. General This might be the most practical. In this mode you would still simulate ground crew pushing your plane but instead of directly controlling them you would tell them where to push you. For example you could say move to elevator 1 and you'd get moved kind of like how the repair lifts you up into the air. 4th. The Force This would be the most restrictive. In this mode you would just get forced around by the deck crew with no control. This is to avoid accidents like someone trying to take off while someone else is landing. The crew would push all the planes to the front of the boat and the players could do nothing about it. I assume the elevators in the first 3 would be controlled like talking to ATC. In the 4th I guess the elevators would be automatic. So that's just my guess on how we players would work on the carrier. Hopefully @Rudel could speak on this topic and provide some insight. https://leatherneck-sim.com/wp-content/uploads/Updates/2022/Summer/F4U1D_Essex_001.png
  5. Awwwwwwwwww what?? That's weird. I see now why you wouldn't want that extended for carrier landings.
  6. I think the reason for all the different types of navigation antennas has to do with technology changing? I assumed the reason the front antenna could retract is because it is sort of in the line of sight. Not a big problem but I assume an annoyance.
  7. Sadly they also didn't explain how the Carrier will works with players. I don't feel like explaining my theories until someone asks. Just wanted to mention that.
  8. Hey ya'll. You know that weird post that sort of sticks out of the fuselage of the Corsair? That I've heard is called the navigation antenna. It is said in the Corsair's manual that you can retract that and it recommends that it should only be extended if in use. How does this antenna work? Is it radio direction finding or something different? The manual doesn't explain. Below are pictures of the manual and of the navigation antenna (if you can find it). I'm not sure how exactly that can retract. I assume it folds?nullnull
  9. nullI'm going to put this here in the hope it serves any use. I can't bring the website to the table but I remember reading that the Corsair out preformed the Zero in ever aspect but slow speed maneuvering. I believe this website was comparing the F4U to the A6M5. The website also stated that the Corsair has a slightly slower sustained turnrate against the 109 but I cannot remember the models. Take those claims with grains of salt please.
  10. I'm betting this June, I could go into detail but I don't have the time now. I will if asked.
  11. I'm not sure if you are aware but the Corsair is coming with an AI Zero and some ground assets
  12. Idk if you get this enough but I support the complement of the F4U! Can't wait!!
  13. Well we have seen a picture of a wireframe of a zero so I bet we are getting that and I have some pictures of some assets they made awhile ago
