  1. Today I learned that the ball call is bindable.
  2. To be specific, I am referring to stage 1 (manual, p. 10). It reads:"In case you like to skip it, there will be a F-10 Radio Menu (Skip Refuel Task) once you reach the specific mission point." At which point should the option appear?
  3. Hi, when exactly should I be able to skip the first mission's refuel task? Directly after hitting the previous waypoint? I never have the option coming up in my COMs.
  4. Hi, I am still fairly new to DCS and I spend all my rare time in learning the Hornet. I watched lots of videos, rewatched some as needed while doing the training missions. Currently, I am repeating "Dire Straits" again and again to get familiar with taking off, setting target coordinates, bullseye etc. By now, I do know what opposition I have to face, but what puzzles me is that I never get the enemy Mig-29s with my radar. I know that they are there because my RWR shows them. I get frequent updates by AWACS including their range but they never show up until it is too late. I am usually locked on, my jammer kicks in (deactivating my own radar) and then I die...so why does my radar not show them at all? I am at the same altitude and face them, when I tell my wingman to engage I can see his AMRAAMs passing by in the general direction I am looking at. Any hint is appreciated.
  5. Hi, I encountered a few bugs in the F/A-18 training mission named "HSI Overview and TACAN-ADF Navigation". 1) After pushing the HSI push button, VEC push button is highlighted without any explanation and - I believe - any meaning. 2) After the ADF explanation, one is asked to push the TCN push button which is claimed to be boxed afterwards. It is not boxed after this, this might be related to #3. 3) A few moments later, one is asked to enter 67X into the UFC, press ENT and spacebar afterwards. After doing so, the explanation continues to refer to things that should be visible on the HUD and HSI but they are NOT visible. They only become visible once the TCN push button is pressed on the left DDI. If the actual behavior is correct, the solution is to add the additional TCN button press. Thanks.
  6. Some feedback: I disabled SSLR and lowered SSAA to 1.5 and I usually have not less than 60 fps in my SU-25 at Caucasus.
  7. Hi, I setup DCS and flew several missions in my SU-25T in Caucasus region. After fiddling around with graphics setting and reading here and over at Discord to optimize my settings I somehow have the feeling that my performance is too low. I find it difficult to provide numbers as there is no official or community wide accepted benchmark to run (or at least I could not find any). As the SU-25T mostly flies down low it just does not feel very smooth. So, I am not asking for solutions but to give me a helping hand to check if there is a problem at all or if the performance I experience is within expectable limits. I am no computer illiterate but the absence of a standard to rely on bugs me out I cannot give reliable numbers now, but I am pretty sure I am way below 60 fps according to the ingame fps counter. I do not play VR but on a standard monitor at 2560 x 1440. I use OpenTrack and AITrack for head tracking. The NVidia panel delegates settings to the application, DCS' graphics settings are attached. So, my specs are: i9-9900 64 GB RAM Gigabyte Geforce RTX 2080 Super with 8 GB Samsung 860 EVO with DCS Samsung 750 EVO with WIndows 10 Pro Any hint is appreciated. options.lua
  8. Hi, I am not sure if this is the right subforum, if that is the case, please have this moved. So, I am re-entering the flight sim world with DCS, I am (or was) a fairly experienced flight simmer with some experience in F4, FC1, IL2 series but lost interest a long time ago. The itch came back a few weeks ago and currently get acquainted with the SU-25T. I got a Thrustmaster 16000m HOTAS. I currently use OpenTrack + AITrack with a Logitech Brio cam for viewing and I have to say that I have not found a solution that feels well yet. Finding ground targets is difficult enough but in my current situation pretty much impossible. All in all, the head movement is shaky and does not feel smooth. The lighting in my room is generally good and I setup the curves in OpenTrack with some dead zone and tweaked it so I am not doing 240 degrees head turns, e. g. I use pitch, yaw, roll, x, y, z. Still, it sometimes has its "hiccups" I do not see in videos at Youtube. Is that what I can expect at best from this setup? Would TrackIR be a solution for this? Hiccups and zooming is worst part of the experience. If I zoom in by leaning forward in order to get a better view on the Shkval but I usually just zoom above that. If I zoom in with the HOTAS wheel the zoom is noce but my head position is too shaky to acutally focus on something. Is anyone using a similar setup and can share his OpenTrack curves? How do you guys zoom?
