  1. I have the Winwing Collective and Virpil HOTAS...after extensive use of both I can confidently say that Winwing is as good or superior in build quality, software and shipping times. Just my 2 cents.
  2. What, pics not good enough for ya? No vid was recorded. Besides, you've already done the steering damper mod so not much point for you. But the patient is doing just fine after successful surgery, better than factory condition. No stiction at all.
  3. In the last pic above I'm pointing at one of the friction damper assemblies exposed. It's that plastic ring, which only looks black because there's still the original grease underneath. The ring slips off, and you clean it then apply the new damper grease. Repeat on the other side. It's a game changer.
  4. @Apar @MustangSally @Draken35 Disassembled the Orion Base for the Winwing Collective (easier than I thought it would be) and applied NyoGel PG-44A Super Damping Grease (5g Tube) to the friction dampers. Zero stiction now. I followed this description from another forum: Take the top of the case off - 4 screws and 2 axis connections. Remove both throttle hall sensors - 2 screws. Remove complete centre assembly, by removing bottom of case - 6 screws. Once you have the centre assembly separated, remove the bolts that hold each half together. Lever one side away and you'll see the clear plastic circular strip...this needs the grease applied on the inside. Carry out the same on the other side. Be careful of the spring detentes, they will fall out.
  5. Found this on Amazon, but I still need the pivoting ball joint brackets for each connection point. Will hold out for now as I have Nyogel grease on the way. https://www.amazon.ca/dp/B07MQ9MYCV/?coliid=I2SNILEJQGXH4P&colid=1H1TAGJQ3AMNV&psc=1&ref_=lv_ov_lig_dp_it
  6. good point, I'll check the grease points on my rolling garage door and extrapolate a solution from there I get your point and appreciate your offering assistance but I was asking for very specific info on a specific device because Collective devices are very new on the market and there is no as yet info (pics/video) on stiction solutions.
  7. This thread is about the winwing collective not a HOTAS
  8. This is obvious...where exactly did you apply the grease. pics?
  9. In your photo, what are the 2 additional brackets (black and silver) attached to the end of your collective.....located near the original billeted bracket that came with the collective?
  10. @AparAh very interesting workaround. Where did you get the mechanical dampener? Will be curious to see it in action, pics.
  11. ..and "dampener" refers to what part specifically? Got a diagram breakdown?
  12. I've had the Winwing collective with full extension for a few months now. Although I have adjusted the tension screws close to my ideal there is still slight stiction with fine movements. Thinking of trying https://www.oveready.com/flashlight/nyogel-767aa-damping-grease-10g-tube/. Expensive dampener grease and not sure of exact point to apply to. I reached out to winwing and their response was: Very sorry we have not test any damping grease yet, but I think you can have a try. Otherwise love this collective, with minor stiction.
  13. @71st_MastiffNice. I opted to go with the WinWing Black shark collective, of All metal construction rather than high grade plastic. I have had the Virpil CM2 throttle and stick for about a year and have no real complaints, a nice HOTAS but I wanted higher quality in the collective so we will see if it actually lives up to that. https://wwsimstore.com/p/329.html
  14. My Blackshark Collective is scheduled for delivery next week to Canada, so pretty hyped to see the quality and usability of it soon enough in DCS, Flightsim2020, ED and SC.
