  1. I wasn’t imagining anything. I played for years before the update I specified above at 144hz on my valve index.
  2. No. nothing has. Like I said, I used to set my VR headset to 144hz. and the graphics a little higher than they are now and that was on an AMD 6900xt. I now have an Nvidia 4090. But what ever they did ( either DCS or Steam ) ruined the way it handles VR. People keep saying if your FPS drops below your HZ, it will stutter. Well, before it didn't used to do that at all. The only time I got it to stutter was under 30FPS. no where near what it needs to be to hold 144hz. Some maps I can't even play like Syria when flying through the buildings, which used to be super smooth and hitting 40-50FPS. I truly believe it was a Steam Update not so much DCS itself. NO HEADSET HAS HELPED. I have tried three different ones now. Not even the Varjo.
  3. I had to send it back and get a refund. Couldn't get it to work. they even sent me a replacement and it didn't work. In the end I didn't like how small it is. It felt like wearing swimming goggles instead of a mask. When Im swimming, pool or ocean, I prefer a full mask. I didn't like how it felt.
  4. Figured out its when I enter DCS MT through Steam and not Steam VR. I didn't know they fixed the Steam VR loading options to include the MT version.
  5. I noticed this started with the new Steam update. Both Steam VR and Steam app got updated recently and that's when mine started.
  6. Anytime I load VR MT DCS from within Steam, it loads another screen inside the main screen. Its driving me crazy. Im inside the hanger looking around normally but theres a box as if its virtual desktop mode inside the screen im looking at. best way I can describe it. I got it to work once by turning off VR mode inside DCS, then loading it again to 2d mode and selecting VR mode. But now I cant get that second screen to go away. Any help I would appreciate it. I tried searching for the answer too.
  7. I should have worded it differently . You can tell its in single or multithread due to it posting MULTI in the bottom right. Either mode is the exact same results. I used task manager to view the threads and what they are doing. Another way to tell when I'm in single or multi. when in Multi you can see a huge difference in thread activity.
  8. yes sir. I even noticed the threads all processing more data. loaded within steam app.
  9. vsync, maybe I should turn that off. ill try it tomorrow.
  10. I have been running MT DCS for a while now and decided to switch to single thread to see how much better MT was. But for some reason I am getting the exact same results. No improvement what so ever. I know single thread is working due to checking my CPU cores and what's going on, not only that, DCS tells me on the bottom right and the option menu. Another thing I noticed is, when playing DCS, my CPU is only utilizing 15% and my GPU is only 50-60%. Is this normal? I would have thought the GPU and CPU would be a lot higher. If I turn the graphic up too high I get stuttering. I already found where its runs smooth and the graphics are satisfying. AMD 7900x Nvidia 4900 64gb ram running on a Samsung 980 pro Just the basics of my PC.
  11. I didn't read everything but this happened to me a long time ago. When I started playing DCS about 4-5 years ago it ran smooth. Perfectly smooth. A few months passed and all the sudden I had the exact same stuttering you're experiencing. The only way I fixed it was by completely deleting it and reinstalling it on another drive and it worked flawlessly. If you have not tried that, I would do that first. Save all your missions you've created, anything else you want to keep. Just don't add them at first when you do a clean install. Make sure DCS runs smooth, then add them. Hope you figure this out. I have had DCS get corrupted before when the updates hit.
  12. I know this is an old post but I found this by doing a search on , Varjo Aero is very uncomfortable to find out if others feel the same. This one caught my eye because I honestly couldnt believe what I read. The valve index to me is far far more comfortable. I can game with that headset for hours! I just got the Varjo Aero and tried the Bigscreen Beyond, and both are so uncomfortable to me. The Varjo feels like its cutting into my cheeks no matter how I adjust it. The Beyond felt like wearing small eye goggles which just doesn't feel good to me. Im shocked these used to cost 2k. I had issues getting it to run correctly too. I think I finally got it dialed in. The visuals are great but not 2k great. Im glad I bought it during their Black Friday sale. I might just go back to my Index. The index had a much better FOV and far more comfortable.
  13. received the Big Screen Vr headset. the visuals are amazing, although it was intermittent. The headset has issues and they are going to send me a new one.
