https://alternatewars.com/SAC/AIM-7F_Sparrow_III_SMC_-_January_1977.pdf
England version:
Good afternoon, I would like to draw your attention to the strange behavior of the AIM-7F missiles in DCS, or rather, their very small launch range. There is a document on the Internet from January 1977, declassified, about the AIM-7F missile, here it is:
https://alternatewars.com/SAC/AIM-7F_Sparrow_III_SMC_-_January_1977.pdf
And according to it, the aerodynamic launch distance is 85 km (53 miles), in DCS even the AIM-7M missile, according to the files and data in the reference book, has a smaller launch distance. Here is a screenshot of the file, pay attention to the Range_max indicator where it is indicated only 50 km, it looks more like the AIM-7E-2 during the Vietnam war.
But I'm not talking about the AIM-7M, I would like the developers, based on the document that I showed, to bring the AIM-7F to their historical state in terms of range. Thank you for the attention.
