  1. For me the most interesting period for the Iraq map is the 80s and the Iraq Iran war. So many air battles happened in that war.
  2. Hi After last update Tacview has a recording problem. You can see it for yourselves in the attached track. Basically it only records the flight of my jet but nothing else, no combat no missiles no nothing. Can you please help me? Tacview-20231112-210348-DCS-Client-UAE RED2 ACTUAL.zip.acmi
  3. Hi It would be great if there was a form of social interaction. In other games it is easy to make friends, you like playing with someone you add him and then you can play together. In DCS it is very hard to find a wingman. Flying alone is fun, but having a wingman on your side would double the amount of fun, and I am really struggling to find one. If only there was a mechanic that allows you interact with people.
  4. Sorry for bothering you. I restarted the pc and deleted the file manually and then ran dcs_updater.exe. Now everything seems to in order.
  5. I started updating to 2.8 last night, woke up to these errors. I tried running dcs_updater.exe as administrator, the same result occurs. Now DCS.exe has disappeared.
  6. DCS world is a combat flight sim, but it's also a military sandbox. We're fighting in scenarios and battles that never happened; the cold war turning hot, WW3 etc. In DCS we're flying in an alternate reality where things went south and all hell broke loose. Well I'm telling ya, in this alternate reality , the F-20 made it into production. Where <profanity> hit the fan and war started grinding economies, countries like South Korea , Bahrain, Taiwan, etc... started looking for more affordable solutions to send to the front lines: this is where the F-20 shines. In DCS, the F-5-e is competitive in BFM, but it is rather underpowered and its A2A loadout is very limited. With the new engine and all the new avionics and radar, and with the capability to fire Sparrows, or even AMRAAMs, the F-20 would slap As eager as I am to get the Tigershark in DCS, I do agree that aircraft that saw service are a priority, personally I'm looking forward to getting the F-15e and the rumored full fidelity mig-29. Cheers
  7. Yes, the jets that saw service are priority. But the F-20 is not like any project that was unsuccessful, the main reason why it was not sold is bureaucracy. The F-20 was ready for mass production, and it was considered by many as the best fighter never built. I think it would be a great addition to DCS. It is the only non production aircraft that I would love to see simulated in DCS.
  8. Hey folks, I know we have a Blackhawk community mod, but I'm wondering if there is an official Blackhawk module planned or any of the variants. Thanks
  9. I may be late to the party but I don't understand why is it so hard to get permissions. The Mig-29 and the Su-27 are already in the hands of NATO countries, there are no more secrets about them. I understand that the later versions of the Fulcrum such as the 9.15 and the 9.17 and modernized versions of the Flanker like the su-30 and su-35 are pretty much impossible to get, but for the earlier versions I really don't understand the holdup. I wish we could get full fidelity 9.13 Mig-29S or the 9.13M Mig-29SM with improved A2G capabilities.
  10. Thanks. I don't know why the game changed some of the settings, I found that the Game Avionics was checked and the F10 map disabled. It's running like it should be now.
  11. Hello, I reinstalled DCS, after an SSD upgrade, and now when I start missions I get these weired icons, even though I disabled labels etc and set the settings in the Simulation preset. Although my controls setup is remembered, I can't zoom and open the F10 map. Something terribly went wrong. Please help!
  12. Thanks. Snappy explained that a zero is omitted in the HSI numbers, and I had no idea about the symbols of the HSI. Now thanks to all your very helpful posts things are getting clearer. After the startup+takeoff and landing training missions, I skipped the navigation and Tacan tutorial and went to the air to air intercept. Now I know how to interpret BRA and intercept the target, but I think the navigation training mission will include more complicated features of the HSI, I might come back for more questions.
  13. Thank you that was very helpful. The mission is the 4th training mission called Air-to-air missile employment. The video was great. I was confused at first but then I figured it out. Basically, since I have no aviation background, I had no idea that the numbers of the HSI are abbreviations, meaning 30 = 300 etc. I also learned the meanings of the symbols of the HSI. Thanks
  14. Hello everyone I am a fairly new DCS player. I have been flying in DCS for about two months now with the SU-25t, and I picked up the F-5 in the Halloween sale. Before DCS I have no experience in aviation or flight sim. I come from Ace Combat. Now, on the F-5, I am learning how to intercept air targets. I came to a training exercise where the AWACS gave me a BRA call. The exercise told me to follow a magnetic course of 300. I have no idea what that means or how to do it. All tutorials on youtube and forums say the same thing, just follow the course given to you with the HSI. Yeah, but HOW? I need help I'm lost.
