Hi there, I take it you have not been using DCS for long. The two main differences between *** etc and DCS is the former is a survey combat game able to bang out more aircraft to play with and the latter is a study professional grade simulator and also (unfortunately) professional price tags for their modules except FC3. But even the aircraft in FC3 have professional flight models unlike ***. So in short, you cannot compare the two products and their pricing policy because they are vastly different and in no way can they be seen as 'rivals'. Mizzy

Yep, I know that the hardware isn't capable of rendering pixel density 2 DCS is not optimised for high resolution in VR yet. It's all for the future hardware what I am after and that is no time soon. Coming soon mate Is that subject to change ?

For me VR isn't ready yet for DCS, I like high resolution so maybe in a few years lets hope. Btw, it's getting to the end of the first quarter, still on track for 2.7 ?

You get what you pay for, $80 (£58) is a small price for this gem !!

Anyone know how to increase the view distance of the afterburner as it just stops after a bit and looks naff. Mizzy

I recall ED making it clear what would happen if they went out of business and it was basically releasing the game to the customers that have bought their products in the most stable version. There are many servers out there that would take up the mantle I am sure but rest assured it would not be anything like what VEAO did to it's customers with their piece of shit they sold and then ran off when the kitchen got too hot for them !!

I find that the Syrian map is a game in itself like someone said above, it's limited only by your imagination. Remember this is a military combat flight simulation not Cyber punk. Having said that, I don't use the combat element in DCS, I just like military jets and navigate from one place to another. Can't wait for the new clouds as DCS will be a completely new game for me !! Yep, I have been here on and off for a long time. I was also on the old Flanker forum for several years before that, I was the author of many Flanker mods in it's day but DCS is too complicated now. As you can see, my post count is not high for 16 years service LOL.

I do believe that it has been stated the new clouds are already complete in their first phase. Also when all the new vids come out showcasing the new product, it usually means that they are in a more a ore or less fit state to release. So I am guessing early March.

No need to get nasty, it's not DCS or our fault you can't afford upgrades to keep u with DCS. I didn't want to change from W7 because of the bloatware of 10 but I just stripped it down, stopped all unnecessary processes etc and it runs fine. What puzzles me is when you buy a software product that continually develops, didn't you consider that your machine may have to develop with it ? Anyway, you can always still play DCS with your current machine, they are not stopping you, it's just if you want to enjoy the new features, you simply have to upgrade but don't take it out on DCS your problems as if it's their fault. When I bought Flanker 2, it could play on my machine at the time but when LOMAC came out it was too slow and I couldn't buy it until I could upgrade. However DCS doesn't come up with a new product like Flanker and LOMAC every other year, it continually develops but there comes a time when the development needs a new system to continue using it in it's advanced state. How about you think of DCS as two separate products like Flanker and LOMAC, one you can still play on Windows 7 and one you can't !! Just a thought.

Hello, I am courteously asking if anyone that flies the F14 A and F18 could do me a track file of ramp start, take off and landing with the 'Super Carrier' module in the same track, preferably in the Gulf or Syrian map. I prefer seeing how this is done in actual game play on my VR headset rather than Youtube stuff. In return I will give you a virtual bottle of wine I really would appreciated it. Mizzy
