Thanks for the link, would be nice if they had the callsigns in there too, but I guess the cruise book is more of a formal thing. It's looking like I might only be able to do correct BuNos for VF-1 ... luckily in a lot of the pictures the jets are nameless

Thanks to those who have linked me references for the BuNo's I've been able to correct almost all of the VF-1 jets. But..... how the hell do you guys do the names on the canopy? I'm looking at a picture of NE101, and I can make out the name of the skipper "CDR GEORGE MOE" and "Leader of the Pack", but its too blurry to tell what the RIO's name is, and this goes for pretty much every other picture of every other jet. How do you guys figure out which name is which, and who's name is on which jet?

Wouldn't be right to have Wolfpack without Bullet! VF-2 Expansion done in similar vain as VF-1, all based on the awesome work of Reflected. In the colors of their 89 cruise, NE200, 203, 205, and 206 in HiVis gull grey. In LoVis tactical scheme, NE210, 212, and 215. There are already great LoVis skins out for 213 (Reflected) and 211 (Seahawk), so I recommend using these alongside them. Canopy names currently omitted, and BuNos left as is from the base skins. Over time, I plan to go back and make these as correct as possible. This won't exactly be an exhaustive expansion, as I can't find many/any pictures of 204, 207, or 214 of the time. The idea is that combining these with the base skins, you'll have about 12 jets to choose from/fill out the deck with for both VF-1 and VF-2.

Just chiming in (lol) with my $0.02 ... in multi engine aircraft both engines aren't always going to be operating at the same RPM, and when they aren't you'll hear an oscillating tune. It's the same as you might hear when 2 musical instruments are playing the same note slightly out of tune. Newer jets often have an engine sync system that will match the RPM to eliminate this noise and make it more comfortable for passengers. I can't say for sure, but I'm like 99% sure the 70's vintage Tomcat doesn't have such a system, and this tune you're hearing is just a product of Heatblur's good sound design.

Thanks! Was starting to wonder why no 104 ever showed up in pictures. So I guess from 89-91, I've got all borts that were used covered.

Ok, if there's interest I can probably put them out, but I'm gonna have to make sure it's kosher with the OPs of the skins I used as bases. Will also have to do a little more work on the fin caps - either adding the borts or just washing them out for simplicity's sake. Also, the finished 110 and 111. With these, I've got 11 jets - does anyone know if VF-1 ran with only 11, and if not which bort am I missing?

I'm getting braver... the latest being the somewhat sorry state of NE110, with chipped bort markings and a replacement radome, also pictured in the VF-1 slideshow here. Will likely do more to it, adding a slight hood, probably removing the Battle E's since they aren't pictured. All credit to KL0083 for his NE112 skin serving as the base.

^^ Just emerged from a sweaty, several hour long GIMP session (phrasing). Dummy's first skins- or more like I've finally figured out GIMP enough to bastardize skins I have (shoutouts to Reflected and Tomcatter87 for their awesome stuff) to fill out VF-1 from about 1989 to their 1991 Desert Storm cruise. It's not quality work- the tails, BuNos, and canopy names are all untouched, but at least they all have different borts and Battle E's! I've frankensteined NE 100 c.1989, 101, 102, 105, 106, 107 in gull grey and LoVis (pretty sure I've seen pictures of both), and 113. I think I'll do more based on what photos I find, if anyone knows what VF-1's roster looked like in this time period do give me a shout! P.S. - Hope the authors of the skins I used as bases don't take offense- I don't plan on releasing these and they are more of an exercise in learning for myself, all respect is intended!

Bumping this post in solidarity, as someone who got flamed for making this post ages ago. Part of the issue I suspect is that since ED made the supercarrier with the F-18 as their main focus, they've created the catapult launch logic to mimic the F-18's FCS and automatically pitch up off the cat. As a result, every jet that comes off the cat pitches up the same way, even without any flight control input. FWIW, the new Forrestal seems much better and adding back-stick on launch doesn't Cobra you 45 degrees nose up like the supercarrier does

Wow, ask and I guess I shall receive! Cheers for all you do Reflected, if you knew how excited I was watching that video!!
-
Can't wait then, love that you do the full strength of jets!
-
Thank you for this!! Now we need late 80s/Desert Storm VF-1 and VF-2 filled out to go with it!

Ah I figured, wish I wasn't too dumb to use GIMP

@=Skywarp=Oooh can I get the sauce for that VF-1 NE107 skin
