  1. Hi, Removing JAS39 folder was all I needed to do. It works now. It's a bit embarrasing because I mixed it with AJS37.. and realized JAS39 is a mod. And I'm from Sweden.. AND even a fan of both aircrafts. So, no more JAS39 in DCS then? I will try the pagefile setting as well. Thanks @BIGNEWY for the quick response and fix!
  2. Hi, Loading A-10C II to a Cold start mission causes a crash to desktop. The attached logs are from this moment. I'm able to start F/A 18C in a Cold and Dark Instant action mission on Caucasus. I can load A-10A in Caucasus. It doesn't matter if I use MT option or not, still crashes. But I can no longer start F/A-18C using Supercarrier mission "Cold start" on Persian Gulf map. If I try to start that mission it starts without the player airframe and you are in map view. Clicking F2 gives a camera view following another plane. I am not using any mods at all and it's running completely vanilla. I have 36 DLCs only. A lot of them have been reinstalled today, and game has been verified from Steam as well. Checked that I have latest version of Windows 11 and all the Visual C++ runtime packages from microsoft. Latest NVidia driver for my Asus RTX 3080 12GB. Latest DCS 2.9 Open beta. Logitech Extreme and TrackIR 5. The error I have in the logs is: DCS/2.9.2.49940 (x86_64; MT; Windows NT 10.0.22631) # C0000005 ACCESS_VIOLATION at 00007ff6f7d12928 00:00000000 SymInit: Symbol-SearchPath: 'F:\Games\steamapps\common\DCSWorld\bin-mt;', symOptions: 532, UserName: 'ander' OS-Version: 10.0.22631 () 0x300-0x1 0x00007ff6f7d12928 ((module-name not available)): (function-name not available) + 0x0 0x000000a7a6cfc590 ((module-name not available)): (function-name not available) + 0x0 0x000000a7a6cff370 ((module-name not available)): (function-name not available) + 0x0 0x0000000000fe5650 (DCS): SW + 0xB24BB0 0x000001d2ddd6aa18 ((module-name not available)): (function-name not available) + 0x0 0x0000000000000010 ((module-name not available)): (function-name not available) + 0x0 0x000000a7a6cfab20 ((module-name not available)): (function-name not available) + 0x0 0xffffff585930551f ((module-name not available)): (function-name not available) + 0x0 0x000000a7a6cfaae0 ((module-name not available)): (function-name not available) + 0x0 0x000000a7a6cfb160 ((module-name not available)): (function-name not available) + 0x0 0x0000000000001080 (VCRUNTIME140_1): (function-name not available) + 0x0 0x0000000000002715 (VCRUNTIME140_1): __NLG_Return2 + 0x15C5 0x00000000000a3c66 (ntdll): RtlCaptureContext2 + 0x4A6 0x0000000002829262 (DCS): AmdPowerXpressRequestHighPerformance + 0x13D425E 0x0000000000ce45ee (DCS): SW + 0x823B4E 0x000000000001257d (KERNEL32): BaseThreadInitThunk + 0x1D Please, any idea would be nice. 3. Hi, I have the same problem. I'm able to start F/A 18C in a Cold and Dark Instant action mission on Caucasus. But I can't use A-10C II for the same thing, same map. I can no longer start F/A-18C using Supercarrier mission cold on Persian Gulf map. If I try to start that mission it starts without the player airframe and you are in map view. hitting F2 gives you a camera view following another plane. I have verified files via Steam, and redownloaded the DLCs. And I'm not using mods. Logitech Extreme and TrackIR. 4. Hi, I'm flying the A-10C II a lot. I have noticed that the flaps goes down automatically and not when I press the flaps down button. I've assumed that they go down below a specific speed and basically only when the gear is down. But this seem to happen roughly at the same stage during landing and the plane suddenly goes up or starts floating and need more forward pitch to get down. I looked at the video sample on top, but the flaps indicator is not visible. I usually land or flare at slightly higher speed. Maybe 140 knts. After long missions, I would assume that maybe the trim setting has been manually altered a lot during the flight due to unbalanced load, or even damages to the aircraft. And perhaps the trim setting is conflicting with the flaps that suddenly goes down unexpectedly.
  5. Practise makes perfect. Though I still have a long way to go. I suppose that once you get better and better you develop a feeling for how to do it and how to just 'know' where the tanker is even though you are not having 100% of or even all of the visual cues. Your guide is good. It's not easy to stay perfectly in that spot but at least to achieve a connection. I've learnt that it's of course important to make sure the aircraft is in "Ready" state for a connection [Ins] key. Beacuse if it is not in "Ready" there won't be a connection no matter how much you try and that gives you a feeling that you are not in the right spot. After a disconnect you need to press [Ins] again. But I'm so concentrated in flying the thing so I've missed that a few times. As for the speed, the tanker is not flying in 200kts as stated. It's more like 198.5-199kts. But after a while you learn to look at the tanker instead and just forget about the speed indicator. Now I'll just have to learn to keep the connection long enough to actually get some fuel into the tanks. Thanks again, McAnders
  6. Thanks a lot for your thorough reply, Thump! I will try this. From the images it seems like you get it perfect every time. Following the tanker in formation is fairly manageble and this will help to find the actual position. But then my biggest problem is usually to maintain the speed. I also realize that the gamma setting needs to be almost maxed out to be able to see this as well to apply this procedure. I usually have my gamma setting at 1.8, but air refueling at night requires gamma to be close to 3.0. Regards, McAnders
  7. Hi pilots, I'm trying exactly this now, AAR in A-10C at night time. It's next to impossible. As soon as I get in position I fail to fly closer in into the position. But soon the cockpit rig itself is in the way for me to see the lights from the tanker so I lose my reference points. I'm using Track-IR as well, and I'm moving around to be able to see them. I think that in real life those lights, and the light from A-10 is illuminating the boom and the tanker itself more, giving you a wider view of multiple reference points to use and a sense that there actually is something flying out there in front of you. And now I still believe, you guys that are saying that you are doing it all the time. But I'd like to know how it looks for you, when doing it. What do you actually see? Is gamma at max? Have you setup your display or anything else to be able to see? Frustrated.. but I love this sim. / McAnders
  8. Hi, I just finished Mission 5 in The Enemy Within 3.0, great campaign by the way, and this mission starts at dusk and goes on until the sun is down completely. As the sun goes down you need more and more light on the instruments. But turning up the buttons doesn't give much, just a green tint. Even the floodlight that usually can be set to be way too much - is really dim. When starting a mission from the mission editor at night you can easily set the cockpit light to be way too much. But the problem is not just the cockpit lighting it's the global lighting seems to be off as well. I think this happens when you are playing a lengthy mission and the general lighting goes from daylight to night. It seems as if the light just keeps on going darker and darker indefinitly even after the sun has set. In the mission I had to land using the Night vision on the helmet. That didn't feel realistic, since the runway and the city should have lights, and even at night those can be seen without NVS. I've been flying at night, I've seen it. But if I turned off the NVS it was pitch black. I couldn't even see the runway lights or the city lights. And this just feels wrong. But I'm not sure if there was a moon, but probably because I was flying for a long time after sunset. It was not overcast. This is not a hardware nor a gamma thing.
  9. Hi, I'm having similar issue. Stuck and nothing happens. Seems to be a promising campaign though.
  10. I'm using TrackIR and have started to have a pen and paper next to me for things like coords and for the "9-line". In the first mission I think it was necessary to write it down but in mission 6 they are in the F10 menu for review. I just have to say.. it truly is awesome. I'm still only at mission 7 and I'm enjoying this soo much. It has everything I've imagined about being an A-10 pilot in the gulf area and is extremely well made. With pdfs and vids. Haven't encountered the smallest glitch yet. It works very well. I also appreciate the F10 menu it has become second nature to use it. Great story, great voiceovers and long realistic missions. Thanks!
