  1. According to the A-10a Manual TO 1A-10A-1 pg 2-9 In the before taxi checks (ie on the ground stopped) there is a note that states: "Speed brakes may not retract simultaneously due to lack of airloads."
  2. My experience (not in A-10), normally aircraft airbrake deployment causes some noticable airframe shuddering and audible cues (increasing in relation to increasing a/c speed). We don't get that in the sim. An audible wind over the airbrake/rumbling noise cue would be a nice sim feature.
  3. I hope not. Like it the way it is.
  4. But you CAN set down on that moving train lots of Hawg 30MM. :smartass:
  5. Nicely done! Thank you!
  6. In the real A-10A manual, pg 1-35 describes the automatic rudder travel limit reduction which occurs at 240 KIAS. "at aircraft speeds above 240 KIAS, available rudder travel is automatically reduced from +-25 degrees to +-8 degrees." This occurs in the sim. Impressive! The USAF manual should be required reading! http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=56080
  7. Nice! Thanks. Rep!
  8. The ipad is awesome for PDF manuals. Color. Nice bright large screen. Touch control. Compact size, you can haul it around where ever. I got it for work to haul around manuals but it is very handy for the DCS A-10 manual.
  9. The Probe, not drogue. :) You can fly to the tanker now get in close request gas and the probe extends out towards you but does not connect. Lights on bottom of tanker dont seem to work either yet. WIP I read. Still pretty cool to fly right underneath the tanker. Here is an interesting doc with some aerial refueling info re the KC-135 procedures and a couple bits on the A-10. http://www.vusaf.org/amwtc/97amw/KC-135/Altus%20KC-135%20and%20C-17%20AIR%20REFUELING%20GUIDE.pdf
  10. Excellent! That is how I read it, roll rate. They are going to increase the roll rate! Superb news.
  11. Very good news!
  12. In the real aircraft I wonder if you can hear when the airbrakes are deployed? You would certainly feel it at higher speeds... in the sim should there be a sound effect to give us this missing clue? Thoughts?

  14. Go up high. Like 20,000+ and then put it in a vertical dive. trim it so that it has a slight nose up tendancy. At some point as the speed reaches redline (ie approx .75m or 450KCAS) there will be a noticable switch from the nose up to a definate nose down pitch. You can reference the A-10a Manual page 6-4. Dives/Compressibility Effects.
  15. Real A-10 sim footage Here are some vids of the real A-10 simulator in use. In the first one Mack tries to set a world record for the longest GAU-8 "burst" ever. :smilewink:

  17. Here is my nomination for best A-10 video. "Chaff! Chaff!" lol
  18. Two things: 1) When you land a squat switch on the real aircraft's left main gear allows for 100% extension of the airbrake. In flight the airbrake is limited to 80%. This is modeled in the sim. 2) Mach tuck! As the aircraft approaches its limiting mach it displays mach tuck, this is modeled in the sim!
  19. Thanks for the info nomdeplume! I had to adjust my email info in my profile. Once emails matched I was good to go. Cheers
