Let’s be fair about this. Rafgaj made it clear in his advertisement that it was fixed sized at 21.5mm as he made it only for his fingers. That’s one reason why completely redeveloped the CAD from scratch so I could offer a made to measure service. Try some hot melt glue. It will last longer. This is just how DCS works. If you add another game controller, it will appear in the settings. It’s the same if you add another joystick or throttle. I don’t think this is an issue with your units. You are using HTCC in VR Controller mode and the rings are mouse emulators. Who knows how DCS behaves with VR controllers pointing at buttons and then a mouse click happens. I don’t see this when HTC is in tablet mode.

Are you using Oculus Link or VD or something else? If Oculus Link, if you have changed the sharpening setting in the ODT to quality this can cause stuttering. Change it back to normal.

I’ve used Oculus Link, Oculus Air Link, VD and SteamVR. There’s nothing wrong with Oculus Link. It’s the only one I use once I had tried all the others.

A scroll wheel would be difficult. However, it does have scroll up and down functionality with acceleration. So it has normal left and right mouse button emulation and scroll up and down. The scroll up and down is a single click per press, or if you press and hold, it scrolls faster, like spinning a scroll wheel. Then, there is the centre button mapped to the back button on one hand and the other to the middle mouse button. The scroll acceleration makes using the HSI and course controls, HMCS intensity, console dials, etc, much easier to use. You can also use right-click hold and move your hand up and down with HTCC to spin dials. Plus the firmware can be updated.

I haven't tried a regular finger mouse, so I'm unsure how to compare them. This one is compact, has five buttons, is Bluetooth, sleeps after 15 minutes of no use, wakes instantly on middle button press, charges via USB-C from 0 to 100% in under an hour, and has a battery life that lasts for days. In your experience, how would you say that compares?

Yeah, in menus, it's no good. I use a normal mouse for the menus prelaunch. In the cockpit, I have the menu controls mapped to my HOTAS. Were you aware you can move up, down, return, and select using joystick buttons in in-game menus? I have developed my own finger mouse. I call it the Slugmouse. I have one for each hand.

It can't be smooth at such low frame rates. There can be many causes for this, so here are a bunch of questions. Has it always been like this, or has it just started to happen? What is your headset frame rate set to? Is your CPU power or temperature throttling? This would explain a slowdown as the machine gets hot. Does it only happen in aircraft, or does it also happen in the game menu before starting a mission? Try moving your head fast from side to side in the menu. If it's not smooth, you might be experiencing the core loading issue with the multi-threaded binary version of DCS. A workaround for this is available. What does the task manager show for memory usage? Is your GPU getting too hot and throttling down?

If you move your head and keep your hand still, it will appear as though your hand is moving in the opposite direction to your head. That's because the hand is actually moving across the camera sensor. It's a little annoying because in VR but not DCS (so in the headset home space) the hands do not move as the head moves. I guess the headset tracks hand movement in relation to the background. I expect Meta doesn't export that environment data for PCVR use. I've learnt to keep my head still while looking at the control I need to adjust. What finger mouse are you using? Oh, Meta's famous v63 release broke HTCC. More on this with a workaround here:

If you've been messing with the settings in the Oculus Debug Tool, don't. The default works just fine. FYI, it's the link slicing. Disable it. If you haven't messed with the settings, I expect your headset is fubar.

Here's a workaround from Fred.... Delete or rename dbghelp.dll in the DCS bin-mt and bin directory. It appears that both Oculus and DCS are trying to load different versions of it, which causes the problem. -
If, like me, you use Fred Emmott's great HTCC (hand tracking for flight simulator cockpit clicking) OpenXR app with a Quest Pro or Quest 3 to control the mouse pointer with your hands, v63 of the Oculus Link PC app breaks it. Yes, the great v63 release strikes again! Unfortunately, because of the v63 Oculus / DCS crash issue, I haven't been able to use DCS and v63 together to discover this extra treat from Meta. @NineLine, maybe it could be helpful if I am part of the DCS closed beta team so I could find these bugs earlier in the development cycle, just as I did back in early February by reporting the v63 DCS crash the day the Meta beta build was issued. Here is the link to HTCC for anyone interested in using it. It also works with other headsets and the Ultrleap motion controller. Home | HTCC (fredemmott.com) v63 has been a bit of a perfect storm. Hopefully, Fred will be able to fix it soon. Meanwhile... I'm back on v62, as I kept a backup of the Oculus folder for just this kind of problem!

I have made some changes in the registry settings for HTCC to make it more useful in DCS. I reduced the FOV at which the HTCC takes control of the mouse, which makes switching between the hand-tracked mouse emulation and a physical mouse easier. Let me know if you would like to try my registry settings for HTCC.
