  1. Thanks for the warning, I won't be purchasing. Even though I own and enjoy working through 73 official campaigns including those that are included with modules, I am not interested in campaigns that limit my ability to play the way I like to play. In fact I'm actually annoyed by it. Let players decide within the parameters of the game framework how they want to play the game.
  2. The Maverick was listed in the diagram on the forums that showed what weapons will be available. In the manual the chapter under guided missiles says "not available during early access". So it appears they will be available at some point.
  3. Surely its been as good as announced in the interview on the future of DCS as being the Mig 29A full fidelity and that the Apache is on the way at some point.
  4. Thats the question I have, PCIE 3 allows 16GB/s, PCI 4 allows up to 32GB/s. The 2080Ti is capable of 14GB/s. The 3090 is capable of 19GB/s, surely PCI3 will limit the 3090. And as stated there are no Intel boards that support PCI 4. And even if there was its going to require new MB, CPU and the 3090. As with others awaiting the benchmarks and reviews to make sense of this mess.
  5. I cant recall where the reference was to "brain melting" or "mind blowing" although it has been mentioned as a criteria. If that is the case I feel the most "brain melting" and "highly detailed and complex aircraft" that could be announced as a module would be the Panavia Tornado IDS. Also highly anticipated.
  6. I think the key point is "module that is eagerly awaited" , that surely dismisses anything that hasn't been overly anticipated like F22 etc. I dont play multiplayer but isnt the online community asking for full fidelty red team fighter. That aside, I am still in for the Apache.
  7. Hang on, unchanged for several years? The statement makes full reference to the F18, F16. The F16 was released in 2019. By all means speculate and enjoy doing so, but for mine the answer is clearly in print. And furthermore it is probably the one aircraft that has been suggested that fits the criteria more than any other.
  8. I'm going to take that as a leak, question answered as far as I'm concerned.
  9. What would be really cool is if we could do a poll with 5 aircraft for everyone to vote for what they think it is. Then after the set duration of the poll, 2 weeks, 4 weeks, whatever is deemed suitable, ED could verify if the proposed aircraft is in the list. If not then we have a new poll. If it is verified we leave speculation at that. C'mon that would be great fun.
  10. I have just changed from the Vive Pro to the Reverb. Its a lot clearer and is just excellent. I can rest assured that I have now seen VR as it was meant to be. I always found the Vive Pro a fraction not clear enough. The Reverb was the headset I was looking for. I plugged mine in and was using it in 5 mins. Having already installed the 2 easy software installations. Tweaking it for desired frame rate will take as long as required for personal satisfaction. The reverb definitely needs some top end hardware to run it at its full potential but even toned down a bit it still looks better than the vive pro. It is easy to use, connect headset to cable, WMR window opens automatically, click on WMR for steam shortcut, Steam VR opens. Start game, done. I wouldn't listen to the constant reverb downrampers and nitpickers, if visual quality is what you are after the reverb is stunning.
  11. Just started using the Reverb from the Vive Pro and I dont get DCS in my list of applications in the Steam VR settings (adjust video settings per application). I get all my steam VR games. Any quick suggestions how to add it to the list? Or how do I specifically adjust PD/SS and enable motion smoothing/reprojection settings for DCS in Steam VR settings.
  12. In regards to the HOTAS in VR, I use the Orbweaver Chroma located next to the throttle and CH products Stick and throttle. I prefer the CH Products for its light feel. This gives around 67 keys/buttons to designate to functions in the first instance before changing modes etc. A lot of buttons are even easier to click with the mouse which is located to the right of the stick. I have a controls button template for each Module that I fill in for reference. After playing for a while in 2d to get the feel of a module I then play in VR without having to pause or look outside of the headset, mission after mission. Gaming in VR is the next level. And having just gone from Vive Pro to Reverb is simply stunning.
  13. Interesting topic, dont know why it just cant be announced then we all move on. BOStalingrad outlined their next few years worth of plans, you read it, then just let them get on with it and buy everything in the meantime. Anyway, I think somewhere around egypt fits the bill, the maps so far are around the 400km x 400km or so range, Egypt and Libya would be a lot larger than that. Egypt and Israel and the Suez canal could be fitted in that sized area which would allow for the Yom Kipper war 1973. Which involved Mig21, F4, A4 and MirageIII. It would also allow for WW2 Desert war especially around El Alamein. Or the easy option, some island in the Pacific where the map is mostly water.
  14. Have this module selected as WWII backer reward. Looking forward to this freebie. Has only been 5 years!
