Try browsing your system root trusted certificate store and you'll see more than a hundred valid signers, I doubt that "snake oil" is one of them tho.
From what I heard, 'Snake Oil' is a default CA name for a certain flavor of certificate generating software.
ED likely generated their own certificate, rather than pay someone else for the same quality product, only to get MS Exploder's complaints to stop..
-
This is what happens when a company is cheap and doesn't want to pay verisign for a real certificate
Like the US Air Force for example...none of our security cetificates are Verisign friendly...because there is absolutely no reason for them to be!

You know what users are like, always trying hard to break code people spend years working on :-)
Without a headwind I think it's impossible to land a 25T on the Kuz, so I needed a little run-off area. I also had this idea about trying to touch down briefly on both carriers as they passed each other, but as the Vinson appears to be un-landable-on it looks like I need to find another source of entertainment.
Heck, at this rate I may have to try one of the missions! ;-)
Andrew McP
God forbid, you actually play the game as intended! :D

I can't fire antiradar missiles against triple A that lock on with radar. For example a hawk site and a gepard in the same location. I lock on to the hawk, fire and destroy it. I lock on to the gepard and the 25mpu never gets a LA symbol.
The Gepard RADAR is strong enough to show on the Phantas' pod, but not strong enough for the missile's seeker (or the missile does not have that radar in it's threat library).
EDIT: I dont have the expansion yet, but I remember reading that you can use the targetting pod in tandem with the Skval system to find targets for other weapons. So if it's a Gepard that's causing problems, stuff a Vihr down it's throat!

As soon as PayPal gets its act together, I will get the game. And if the activation thing bites me, I'll b***h and moan at ED and Starforce until they either fix it for me, or SF gives me one of their prized override codes.
-
Or they maxed out their PayPal account... Hey, ED, clean out all that friggin money so we can give you more of it!

A long time ago, in the era of the 286 PC, when 640k memory was a LUXURY, and extended memory did not exsist, there was a little addon you could get to offload some of the power of your processor when it came to running very complex mathematics repeatedly. This little piece of kit was called a 'Math co-processor'. Most modern gamers have likely never heard of it, because your modern processors have the functionality built in.
So, who thinks this thing is going to become the 21st century math coprocessor?

Somebody please enlight me and tell me why a copy protection software must run as a driver ? or be installed as separate software ? Why it just cannot be linked into the game's exe or dll ? That way a lot of suspicion and trouble would go away ...
Actually, Starforce is both.
As I understanded, an imbedded call in the software checks with the driver to see if certain things 'aint right', like looking for virtual drives and such. Thats the idiot's viewpoint anyways, I've never tried to see what it has under the hood.

I guess this will change with the newest 'A-10C' mod that gives the Hog a targeting pod (Litening II). With the laser range-finder in the pod, it should be possible to get the precise slant range to the spot under the pipper, making use of the Rad-Alt unnecessary.
How does that sound?
Sounds like the Hawg will be able to do what the Frog could do all this time
-
How can it operate 12:1 ... it only carries 8 missiles! So assume 100% hit rate ... it is now 4:1 and you're going to do what? Run!!The F-22 in 12:1!!!)James
Why do you think that supercruise was a requirement for the thing?
When the going gets tough, the tough run like hell!!
-
Clicker...that sounds familiar, and I dont have the resources in front of me to be sure, but...
Have you ever installed Teamspeak? I know one of the DLL's there likes giving false virus warnings to most antiviruse scanners.
-
So, I only have 3 re-installs (or major hardware upgrades) before I have to buy the game again? Or is it possible to get a little help from the Starforce folks?
I ask because my computer configuration is changing nearly monthly since I built it, and I'm not done yet.

ignore them, anytime you report a bug someone will chime in and say something that is not the bug you reported is working. I'm pretty confident the rotary thing will be correct in the full release. by design my ass
No. It will not be in the release. Su-25 (except Su-25T) has no autopilot absolutely. Therefore it does not engage automatic mode keys such as A and H. Trimming by only HAT; it is AFM feature as a real aircraft.
right.. because in the real aircraft you have a computer keyboard and you use ;,./ to move the cursor
No, because on real aircraft you have DIGITAL 4-way or 8-way switches in various places...and since therre are no such switches on a keyboard, they just use the DIGITAL keys that are in similar proximity to each other.
By the explination givin, it sounds like the SU-25's do not have analoug trim control in the real world, and such they disabled that ability for them in the sim.
And if you dont buy that...

Most games dont like being sliced and diced into the tiny chunks known as 'demos', and thus some of these problems may not be present in the finished product.
-
Yep, now That's a Manual!!
I have a question already.
RE: Page 48: Does this mean that Gunpods will be added to weapon stores for the SU-25T?
Not only does the new frog have gunpods, the guns in those pods are slewable. Aim downwards without even pointing the nose that way, VERY useful when passing over a convoy of soft-topped vehicles...

Me, personally, I would love to see a helo of ANY type done to the same standards as the fixed-wing aircraft here. Longbow 2 wasn't a sim, as mentioned, and I've been craving a GOOD combat helo sim for a long time.
-
Ground return clutter will not protect you from doppler radar. However, flying low enough so that terrain features get between you and the airborn emitter will protect you.
Another area where flying low can help, against any radar, is that it could very well put your aircraft out of the vertical limits of the higher flying aircraft's radar.

I could of sworn it was a single seat...guess I'm wrong.
-
as I recall, ED said they won't be producing anything that is a two-seater as a flyable, or that has MFDs...
The 64 falls into at least one of those categories.
Well, I can think of one blue-side helo that has one crew member and no MFDs...The AH-1 Cobra. That's also a helo I haven't seen simulated in...as far as I know...ever.
EDIT: Ok, I forgot about Flying Nightmares II having the Super Cobra...but that was a long while ago.

My knowledge of RF-guided hellfires ends at the K-model, which is SARH. Anything past that is news to me :D
-
Well, I'm assuming the quoted material above was russian, as it seemed to come from the russian forums here. Just a hunch, you know...
-
Actually, it shouldn't even matter for the AH-64D Longbow. Their AGM-114s are fire-and-forget, like the AMRAAM, only for tanks. In all honesty, if Lock On was to model helos correctly, a flight of four AH-64Ds should take out 32 T-80s caught in the open all in one or two passes - a minute or two - assuming that it takes two Hellfires to destroy a tank as it currently is in Lock On.
Actually, the Hellfire is semi-active, and depending on the version, needs either constant laser or radar illumination. Also, the Longbow can only illuminate one target at a time. The way they get away with attacking multiple targets is by changing the missile to a 'lock on after launch' mode, which lofts them up higher and gives the firing platform a little more time to think and switch targets.
Now, as for 4 Longbows taking out 32 tanks? They wouldn't really do it in passes. They would find some place to make pop-up attacks and just ripple the missiles off, likely alternating between one ship firing and one designating targets semi-behind cover. You'd still end up with a big pile of scrap metal afterwards though
EDIT: Wow, there was a whole other page. I wonder why I didn't get that nifty little '1,2' thing in the corner until just now?

You think translating russian is bad? Try seeing what babelfish spits up when you ask it to translate japanese!
And to get on topic, the expansion is still being distributed by download to non-russian locals, yes?
NaturalPoint is going to sell English CD version

Last I checked this was still an 'Unofficial' expansion for LOMAC.
Kind of like all those other commercial unofficial add-ons for Microsoft Flight Sim.
