  1. USAF Aggressors has pretty much all units.

The Bad Cats/Navy Aggressor 'country' is the Aggressors, and I doubt it was just for the F5.

If they get added to the USAF Aggressors 'country', that would work too. But I guess at that point they should just drop the 'USAF' from the name.

  2. Don't joke... You might be right...

This would probably come down to if they are a Cuban based team, or just there doing research. If it's the latter, they could probably fudge it. If its the former, not so much.

  3. Manual say Iceman will be available in singleplayer.

Does it mean that when flying in multiplayer but not in multicrew Iceman won't be available and we will be stuck in front cockpit ? I hope not...!

This I am curious of as well. As it would make things like TGP target finding nearly impossible without a human RIO in multiplayer. Also being limited to only Jester would likely limit the number of radar tricks one can pull.

  4. Also, some people make a mistake of trying to notch the Tomcat's radar, you need to notch the missile's radar.

This may change once Heatblur's F-14 and Phoenix are in. It appears the missile has the capability of flipping back and forth between active and SARH mode as needed. Meaning if you notch the missile, and the firing platform has an STT lock, the missile may well still see you.

This assumes the AI gets access to Heatblur's missiles, of course.

  5. so why did they think it was necessary for the A, then said "wait a minute, why did we put this on here? take it off!" lol

    odd

They likely felt that supersonic maneuvering would be important for the type during development. Once they started getting some real world operational data, it didn't turn out to be so important.

  6. I hope to see this plane ingame one day as a playable. I guess we will have to wait a long time till they all get fased out by the Su-34

Not entirely. The Su-24M (Not M2) might be possible. Both as it is 80's era and an exported platform, contrasted to the M2 which is modernized and only used by Russia.

  7. Are the Pylons are wired for the TPOD..

No, but they're wired for mavericks.

If I remember correctly, the original implementation of the pod was in a kind of 'maverick emulation mode', so it had to go on the wings at first. It was only after the aircraft was wired to semi-natively accept the pod on the center station that they changed where it was hung.

  8. While this aircraft looks awesome at the moment and may serve well as a testbed for the Super Tucano, I am still quite worried about the MiG-19 development. Should we be believing in what RAZBAM has to say on that or the ED newsletter?

OV-10 is being done in one of the artist's spare time for the moment. Meanwhile, the MiG-19 is being done by a completely separate team within the company.

  9. Ok, sorry for my ignorance. I just didn't expect the A version could carry AIM-9.

Just about anything can carry an AIM-9, provided its either uncooled or peltier cooled. For boresight use all one needs is an audio hookup for the seeker output, a power source for the cooler if its has peltier cooling, and a voltage source for the igniter.

Its the LN2 cooled ones that complicate things.

  10. No. They had some limited Air threat in the opening days, thus the AIM-54 and mix. After the first days of Shock & Awe they went mostly for the 2x LGB setup for the A and B Tomcats. JDAM upgrade for the B came later, IIRC.

They did not put more LGB most of the time, cause if they didn't drop they needed to jettison some to get to landing weight. With 2xGBU12 they could still safely land on the carrier though.

I thought weight had something to do with it as well, though. I remember hearing (possibly anecdotal) claims of carrying inert training Phoenixes opposite the TGP as well just to balance out the load.

  11. Maddoging an AIM-120 means you launch it without a radar lock by "bore sighting" it like you would an AIM-9...

Almost right. 'Maddog' means the missile has no datalink support, and is thus looking for the brightest radar return to kill. That could mean a boresight shot, but it could also mean it was locked and fired normally and the launching aircraft needed to break lock for some reason (IE sudden need to go defensive).

  12. Sorry to spoil the party, but why apply a double standard?

You know what other weapon could feasibly be interfaced with the Tomcat? AIM-120 AMRAAM.

Scratch that. Not feasibly. It was already tested and proven.

Its just the needed $$$ for full fleet conversion the top brass chose to divert in favor of the ground attack capability.

That's only for the super-kitty. AWG-9 birds don't speak AMRAAM.

  13. Will be cool if we get Iranian Liveries (Imperial and Islamic) to F-14A and F-14B (Fictional) with their release :)

If memory serves, the plan was to, indeed, have IRAF and IIAF F-14A's and for the Iranian F-14B to only be a theoretical IIAF bird. Of course, the last time I saw this mentioned was a year or two ago, so the plan could of changed.

  14. Well, then he is going to be disappointed.

No CM, no R-73 and no SPO-15 on MLA´s.

Unless they are Iraqi MLAs. Then they get CM and SPO-15.

Or they are partially through the MLA > MLD conversion. Then you can roll 3d6 to figure out what combination of kit they get.

  15.

Maybe you try to get some more knowledge on how the modules are developed and created.

If your 3d modelers are not FM specialists and coders in the same person they are unemployed until project one is finished… Great idea for a running business, right?

Didn't you know? This is The Internet! And in The Internet, all software devs are interchangeable cogs in the machinery of the software mines. Specializations are a myth!

  16. Does look quite cool with all the flaps and slats and gear down. What was the situation with the wing sweep? Was it manually operated?

Manually controlled with three positions: One each for full extended and swept, and an intermediate 'cruise' position.
