  1. Live full-time in an RV myself. Rented out the house for a few years until we knew that we wouldn't kill each other living in such a small space (RV). Sold the house late last year when the property value here in Oregon skyrocketed. We primarily made this decision (moving into an RV) due to finding a private RV community to live in that is super cheap and in a beautiful area. Since our expenses are now so low, we are able to put approximately 85% of our income away into savings. I live in a 40 foot 5th wheel and I had basically 2 options for my desk setup. I could take out the couch that sits in the tail end or remove the dining table. We never eat at the table so I decided to go that route. Put in a powered sit down/stand up desk where the table was and it works great for us. Wife uses it since she has been working from home during the damndemic and when it's my turn I move her sh** to the side and set up my HOTAS & pedals. Thinking of going the VR route in the near future but for now use a LG 48" OLED as a monitor. After adding the desk but before having the LG OLED as a monitor: After adding the LG OLED as a monitor: Vid tour of our RV: (this is before taking out the table and putting in the desk but you can get an idea of desk location) skip to 4 min mark for interior
  2. Just installed DCS, and bought some extras, and currently sitting in the Options/Settings screen where you can adjust the visual settings. Have no idea where to set most of the options given my specs so was wondering if anyone out there, who may have same or close to same specs as me, could share how they have theirs set up? A screen-shot would be extremely helpful. My specs in signature. Thank you!
  3. FNG reporting from the Pacific Northwest, USA! Coming from a couple of space sims, that I still play (Star Citizen & Elite Dangerous), but I have been into flight sims, and gaming in general, since the beginning as I'm one of those old farts. First home video game ever was Pong in the 70's growing up in Santa Cruz, CA and I believe my first flight sim was Microsoft's first version in the early 80's. Then later I messed with Chuck Yeager's Advance Flight Trainer, and others including trying out just about every new version that Microsoft released. Watched a lot of DCS videos this year on YouTube so thought I'd give it a try. During install of DCS, a window popped up asking if I wanted to purchase any extras and it seemed like many of the options it gave me were priced better than the normal sale prices they have several times per year so I ended up getting: F-16C F/A-18C A-10C II P-47D Flaming Cliffs 3 Supercarrier Syria Map Total was $225, which I think is a good deal, and I'll wait until a future sale to buy more that are on my wish list. My favorite military aircraft of all time is the F4 Phantom, probably because of the age and time I was in when aircraft became my passion, so I was a bit bummed to not see that as an option in DCS but maybe someday. Anyhow, hello to all of you and looking forward to the high learning curve of DCS...I think.
