Sorry if you have heard this question a million times im a newbie, please help
Ulukai replied to eso762nato's topic in Pimax
Quest2/3 or Pico4 is maybe a good option for entering the VR World. -Visuals are just one point in what is a good bang for your buck. The Reverb fits much more comfortable on my Head! Quest ist very front heavy (I used both). -My experience ist, that a native Headset has slightly better performance at the same resolution. -NativeVR: HP Reverb G2, Valve Index -StreamingVR: Quest, Pico -Yes the HP Reverb G2 is very sharp in center. Ultra High resolution needs a very very good GPU. I play with a rtx4080+5800X3D and she is on her limits with the HP G2 (Since "Multi Threating" its finally true playable). Motion Reprojection is a no go for me, personal. WMR don't managed it well, to much artefacts and washed out contrast. I believe: Quest managed it better because its a video stream. Interpolation algorithm are first developed for videos) Maybe someone can say something about it. -
!!! Microsoft kills WMR with Windows 11 version 24H2 and newer !!!
Ulukai replied to Ulukai's topic in Virtual Reality
A guy in the comments below the video wrote, 23H2 is ok per now. Te Article shows: "In December 2023, Microsoft announced the end of its Windows Mixed Reality VR platform. A little later, the company shared more details about the future of Windows Mixed Reality, promising to remove the platform from future versions of Windows 11" For me it sounds like they will delete it complete. Hopefully some smart Coders may developing a alternate software solution.- 41 replies

My first Experience with Normandy 2 DCS 2.8.4.38947 Open Beta DCS-"Multithreating"-Version ( no AI ). Very much stuttery and fps at the 50 fps,CPU Bound. DCS-"SingleThread"-Version ( no AI ) 90 fps in Province and stuttery in Paris 40-76fps. Runtime: OpenXR, no Motion Reprojection Status: Its unplayable for me per now. The other maps don't show this stutters in "MT". But I'm sure they will fix it soon. R5600x; rtx4080, 32 GB RAM, HP Reverb G2 (75% Resolution)

Please add LODs to help with multiplayer performance.
Ulukai replied to Moezilla's topic in 3D Model and Cockpit
Wow, I thought that is a standard optimization procedure in Video Game Coding today. I realized the lag of LODs last time when I began to play with the LODs inside the "graphics.lua" . But than my presumption are correct. I changed the lod from 1.0 to 0.5 and realized a more stable framerate for VR Singleplayer in combination with the Multithreating. It seems we still have some performance reserves here.- 10 replies

Hi, it is the Level of Detail for objects in distance. The higher distances the less you need the fully polygon count but it doesn't hide the Objects. Per now I didn't saw any restrictions in spotting. I'm still in a experimental phase. Maybe 0.7 or 0.6 is enough for my system who knows. Or maybe is placebo effect. I just notice it at the Aircraft Carrier last time. The Ground crew lost faster the maximum Texture/Polygon Detail. But totally acceptable in my opinion. At 50K feet I can spot detailed bunkers.

Hello, I can confirm your first issue. OpenXR Toolkit is working with Motion Reprojection ON (in locked 45fps) Only OpenXR Tools for WMR with "Motion Reprojection Always ON" is not stable. The Reprojection of both Options are different? I never realize or compare it. If its correct than its interesting! For me both looking unacceptable. The CPU bounding.... hmm its a thing.. I have the same message in MSFS2020 and no performance problems. Otherwise I could find improvements (for me and my System) last time: I disabled heatblur. An than I manipulate all the LOD ( lodMult = 0.5;) inside the "graphics.lua in the "config directory" by myself to "0.5". Since I changed it, I have playable Performance without Motion Reprojection and no 100% for one core utilization (its a bit less). I don't know if it is the key for all. PS: For sure not by 100% HP Reverb G2 Resolution . Im ok with 50% and msaa 2x. I have the same CPU (5600x). dcs.log dcs 2.log

Hello, I notice the same like you in the CA Mission. When I checked it in the Mission Editor, the lasing works correct.

I may not understand you correctly. You tried The "old" openxr mod 0.6.3 openvr_api.dll ? And it is not working ? Steam don't run at all in my case. And it also don't hijacked it. I just insert the old dll files, and use the "--force_enable_VR --force_OpenXR". The game jumps directly into the openxr-VR Environment and the Motion reprojection works like always. It also has the same ugly artifacts like always I attached the dll files files for you guys to try. They belong into the bin folder. Addition: I forced Motion Reprojection inside game in the openxr menu and lock it by 45 fps. greetings D3DCompiler_47.dll opencomposite.ini openvr_api.dll

Maybe a nice to know for the Developers. The "old" openxr mod 0.6.3 openvr_api.dll is still working fine with the DCS 2.8.2.... Version, even with Motion reprojection forced on. No freezing no issues per now. It's maybe not DCS itself. I insert it by manually for the test. Windows 10, HP Reverb G2 combined with rtx3080

Hello Nine Line, you mean with Track, you need a Recording file from the Mission? Something more, or it is enough? I can try/do. Maybe meanwhile for understanding, how it has to work properly? I read, that the people turn on Easy Communication. But it has theoretical also work with realistic Communication and the correct frequenzy channels isn't it? My experience: With realistic Communication I can't open Communication menu in flight. With Easy Communication I can open Comm Menu but I can't give orders to Wingman and I saw you add a F10 "scriptet" Communication for the Wingman. Its correct yes?
