  1. Much appreciated and especially to those patient testers and moderators. You deserve many thanks
  2. Thanks Greb. I found it easier to refuel with a payload rather than an empty bird. Seems when I was loaded down, I was a bit more stable in the air. Looking to your next but hoping it isn't a long flight where we need to refuel. One could always imagine having about 50% fuel, dropping some ordinance and then meeting with the tanker to go on to the next set of targets. But I bet you already have that figured out. :pilotfly:
  3. Just yesterday I was flying a mission I had made and had taken out most of the targets. One more pass on some bmp's I think and then I would go back to my home base. But I was hit with multiple rounds. I had an engine fire and pulled the fire ring (I know it doesn't work) and knowing Kobuleti was only a couple of minutes away, I thought I could make it. Soon both engines were laboring and I knew I would have to put down. I was along the coast and and there was a nice road that paralleled it. Heart pumping, losing altitude and speed, I lowered the gear and aimed for the road. I made a decent landing and as I was coming to a stop i could see that there was a cliff or sidehill I guess you could call it. I thought I was going to tumble off the edge. And beside that, there was a bridge ahead. I stopped short of the bridge and came to rest on the edge of the road. I was about to shut down engines and all of a sudden I heard a hell of a crashing noise and me and my plane spun around about 180 degrees. I hit the F-2 button and a truck had slammed into me and took off my right wing. I posted a screenshot in that thread. Would have been nice to have Fraps on at the time
  4. I saw that a long time ago and do wish you well and to stay safe. I've spent a considerable time in Texas during the last years around Rockport area. You must be up the road quite a ways
  5. Are you sure the word, "civil" is appropriate? :D
  6. Wouldn't that just figure? I was once up in a small Cessna and the pilot said we had to put down to check something out. We were in a fairly remote area, no airfield within about 15 miles and though it wasn 't an emergency, he decided he need down right now. We landed on a small rural gravel road in Minnesota, USA. One of those roads that might see 3 vehicles on one day and 40 the next. We landed and he got out and tighted the cap on wing tank that is where the fuel was as I can remember. Then take off was kind of nasty because we only had a short run and then there was a slight rise or hill. He listened (engine was off) and hearing no traffic (good thing he had good hearing) he started engine and did an immediate take off. As we went over the rise, darn if there wasn't some farm implement/ tractor coming down the road. It wasn't a close call but still a bit frightening
  7. Just curious, do any of you people work? I am asking that in a nice and respectable way, but I see so many members posting so often, I wonder what you do for a living. Where are my tax dollars going? I hope you aren't government (no matter what nation) employees sitting at your computer when you are supposed to be working. You can't all be retired. ;)
  8. Rammed by a Truck! Having made a successful landing after receiving multiple hits and a fire to one engine, I thought I was safe. I was partially on the road when I heard this hell of a crashing sound and looked and saw that this truck had hit me and spun me around-taking off my wing.
  9. THats a good idea, need all the suggestions I can think of. Will change that. Thanks. Wish I had more money to consider shipping it anywhere but it just can't work that way.
  10. Book To Give Away -FREE Maybe no one is interested in this, or you missed it. Beta 4. Give it a try, for a free book. For Fun. And if there is enough interest, I'll have another free book after this mission. Just want to give a book away, thats all.

    Beer

:drink:Beer? If it is spelled that way or translated to "Beer" in any language, I can drink it.:drink:
  12. Forgot to mention that this is Beta 4. No One enterested in some fun flying and a chance at a free book? Better than reading the posts about Beta 6. ;)
  13. Here we go. For Fun lets have a little shoot 'em up. First, I would say that there are a number of ways to cheat and I want to keep it simple and your honesty in reporting and competing will be up to you. This simple mission will be in effect thru March 10th, central standard time, USA. The winner will receive the book A-10's Over Kosovo free of charge. I will apologize right here and say that it will only be available to those living in the United States and Canada. Sorry about that, but shipping to many countries is expensive. But, I would like you to get involved anyhow and show your results. Remember this is to be first of all FRIENDLY and SIMPLE. You will need to provide a screenshot of as many of your targets that are destroyed as in the example shown. I would have liked a screenshot of the mission results but have found that many screenshot programs such as Fraps and Snapper- along with the defalult program does not show this. So this is where your honesty comes into the picture, so to speak. So it comes down to this: There are 18 targets. The flight is not very long at all, in most cases it will last less than 30 minutes. Your best time along with the number of targets destroyed will determine the winner. So, once again, I need a screenshot to show some of your targets destroyed to prove you flew the mission and your time in minutes and seconds. For example, your submission might be 15 targets in 27 minutes and 43 seconds. I am not even an average pilot but having flown this time, I can tell you that to destroy all 18 targets in less than 30 minutes is not that difficult. So, your goal is 18 targets in as little time as possible. If there happens to be a tie, I will determine the winner by a tie breaking event of my choosing. New edit: It should be noted that you only need fly to your target area and when all targets are destroyed, land at Kobuleti. It is not necessary to complete all the waypoints You can only submit one screenshot- that is one flight. You might want to fly this a number of times and then post your screen shot in this thread. If you prefer to post a track file with your submission, that would be great. Keep in mind, that this flight should be flown with labels on. You might take out one target to come back around and find new targets in the area. You will only use the ordinance within the mission. Please enjoy this and remember, keep it simple, keep it honest. KEEP IT FUN! Good luck. Kobuleti Funtime.miz
