  1. The amount of bushes around taxi-ways and runways is IMHO, overdone in that these are airfield areas where taxiing and quick takeoffs are to be expected. No one in their right mind would have so many obstructions on airfields that restrict the movement and increase mishaps for aircraft. Please, at least for the sake of realism remove these items from airfield activities. Just not done folks. Sometimes, I think that artistic endeavours overtake reality.
  2. Please provide your system specs so we can understand more fully what your issues might be regarding Normandy2 fidelity and computer performance. Also, are you running the MT version?
  3. I've refrained from flying your campaigns, even though I have downloaded most, because of the stupid AI in DCS. Some of those issues have been fixed and so now I have booted up Blue Nosed Bastards of Bodney again. Loved what I got myself into. Regrettably, shortly after starting the hard climb in Mission 2, I lost visual on the lead formation after getting above the clouds, and my flight lost me. Kept to compass directions and followed the flight plan. At Cherbourg, Saw my lead group far ahead and continued and listened to the contact information. Getting to the contested area, I could not find the bandits. Seems they were down low and I was at 20,000 ft. Is there any way to have comms from Transport Lead give out altitude of the contacts? That would help a great deal. Notwithstanding that, I managed to bag one and also extend back to Bodney successfully. Loved the mission, I felt throughly emersed. Thanks for all your hard work Reflected. Cheers, Cats . . . .
  4. Check out Youtube for quite a number of vids with a ton of tips and procedures for the Spit. A lovely bird to fly but temperamental if not handled correctly. Cheers.
  5. Pay attention to your controls setup, engine settings and especially trim settings on landing and takeoff. This is not IL2.
  6. Excellent FR. No issues for me over London. Very impressive!!
  7. Hi ART-J, This is encouraging and needs some testing. For some background, I am an experienced DCS Warbirds flyer. I always warm up the engine to specs prior to take off and maintain optimum specs whenever I fly. Air filters and carb heat are not on. What I see here is your comment about max settings on the instruments. Both oil and water can move into the red zone on my climbs and that's when I open the rads. Perhaps this is where perception of allowable tolerances are in play. I often have coolant sitting up on the red line but the oil temp is often at "max" prior to water temps maxing out. If you say they don't need to be always in the green, then I will do some tests in auto all the time and see what happens. I have never had an engine failure but assumed that it was essential to keep temps in the green therefore continually opening the rads. The Spit, on the other hand, always seems to stay consistent in auto regardless of the situation. So, if the gauges are correct and my application of rad settings is misguided or . . . . . the gauges are a bit "sensitive" within hard conditions requiring tweaking, I need to come to grips with what is happening. Thanks for your feedback, Cheers, Cats . . .

    F-15E vs. F-18C

I will also wait to see how the F-4E is rolled out in that regard. Good point!

    F-15E vs. F-18C

Thank goodnes there will be no pop-up wheel of comms between backseater and pilot that totally destroys the sense of disbelief that I find in ED's F-14 and the main reason I will not fly that module.
  10. Yes, started after the fix to the cooling system. Doing a normal climb at 50 lb boost and 2700 rpm and 200 mph, it requires constant switching from auto to full open on the oil temp switch and sometimes on the water temp switch. I immediately go to full open on both when engaging or driving the engine hard. The Spit on the other hand, works just fine in auto in all conditions. I still think that the P-51 requires more work in this area.
  11. I discovered tonight that flying in RWS mode and selecting the AMRAAM, pushing the SCS to the right puts the radar into AACQ mode indicated on the HUD and radar display but no target will lock. Tested on a number of targets both high and low in the AA AMRAAM quick missions Nevada range and no luck at all.
  12. I had success by going into the Bomb settings and changing the angle of realease from 45 degrees to 0 degrees. I found that with 45 degrees, I had to have the nose pointed down before it would release the ordnance.
  13. As far as comms and functions of the WSO, I do NOT want an emersion breaker like the process used in DCS's F-14 model to communicate with the WSO. That is why I don't fly the DCS F-14. Quite happy with flying solely from the front seat.
