  1. Vampyre, that was it! Thank you!! P.S. Unfortunately, I am just a Cru fan. Not the real deal. I’m glad to see some get the reference though!
  2. GS Open Conflict. I keep getting killed from 1-800-AT&T reach out and touch someone land with AIM-120’s to the face with no RWR warnings until pit bull ... so, everyone but me apparently has them lol
  3. This is probably a dumb question, but, Ive finally started dabbling on flying DCS in online/multiplayer mode. My question is, whenever I try to select my weapons load out via the ground crew dialogs, the only things available are things like AIM-7’s and AIM-9M’’s. Taking off from Tablisi in a crowded PvP server is pretty much a death sentence if all you’re carrying is AIM-7’’s, lol. Is it possible to load up AIM-120’s and AIM-9X’s? Thanks in advance.
  4. This mission drives me crazy too. Its the one I spend the most time practicing (and by practicing, I mean dying). I actually rely on my AIM-9's first until theyre all expended. Then I can switch to AIM-7's to finish off the Migs. I've learned my wingmen are pretty useless most of the time. Whenever I can successfully finish this mission, it's usually me that splashes 3 at least, usually all 4 Migs. I've also learned you have to just go straight into the merge with as little maneuvering as possible and extend past the merge at max speed (Mach 1.2+) before turning back in The AI will usually start tangling amongst themselves after the merge unless you go nose hot immediately at the merge. Thats a solid recipe for an R-73 to the face. I'm glad to see other people love-hate it as much as I do. the 8v8 BVR is just a fun way to instantly die too lol. I really just think AIM-7's are just hot garbage at this point. Unless your enemy is in front of you and barely maneuvering, in a low energy state, they're almost useless. They're really a liability since you have to remain nose hot, Even if you use them in TWS mode set to AUTO in a notch. IMHO. I just treat AIM-7's as a last resort now.
  5. Youre absolutely right. I must have been drinking when i typed that.
  6. This just happened to me. I just opened up DCS and my Logbook is blank. My pilot's profile is gone, all my stats are zero'd out, and all medals gone. I searched my hard drive for anything called logbook.lua but it turned up zero results. anyone else have this happen recently and know what the fix is?
  7. Just wanted to share something I did to make the keyboard more functional/easier to access. I modeled the keyboard mount after a $7 iphone mount and 3d printed it. Its very similar, just with some wider/larger dimensions to support a keyboard. I was having problems using the keyboard while flying (particularly when multiple mig29s are trying to kill me with archers) I searched the forums but couldn't find anything similar. Id like to know if anyone was having the same issue and, how you solved it. This mount is bolted in to the HOTAS mount so it's very sturdy/stable

Love your videos, man!  That is all.

  10. Perhaps the simple answer is... I have too much free time on my hands..... Just finished reading the book, so I picked up the Syria map and Raven One Campaign from the DCS shop. Things like this book collab are what make DCS even better. Pretty cool. Here's my budget sim pit. I put everything together for under $1500, and I mean everything. I started with nothing, not even a desk. The only thing not included in the budget are the airplane (and Super Maxxx) models.
  11. I've seen a few Lemoine videos where they actually say it's the best F-18 simulator out there. I've heard them discuss more about missing/wrong features than the plane's performance itself though. It'd be cool if Lemoine posted on here and put his review in writing here. One memory that stands out the most to me is when C.W. Lemoine and a buddy of his were doing 1v1 fights with the Viper vs the Hornet. They were saying how the Viper's turn radius is way underperforming in DCS, but, I think the fact the F-16 is currently underperforming is a pretty well known fact in the DCS world. My non-fighter pilot useless .02 submitted
  12. Maximov, Hello and how are you? I'm currently downloading and getting ready to install DCS. I was planning on making a large initial purchase. Is there anything I should know before I start loading up my cart (probably tomorrow) and preparing to make my purchase? Obviously, I'm hunting for that new user 50% discount!
  13. Hello all, I've been a stalker/lurker for a couple of years watching DCS videos on YouTube with my iPad and my headphones. I'm kind of a GS fanboy, and I also enjoy the Longshot, Grim Reapers, Matt Wagner, C.W. Lemoine, and Eagle Dynamics videos. I've never been a gamer really. I had an XBox once about 15 years ago and sold it after a few months of owning it because I spent too much time on it. I've always had a passion/interest for aviation since I was a kid (before the grey hair and back pain). Over the years I have acquired some seat time in small planes like 152, 172, 182, Cherokees, and a few others. I'm talking very little time here. Mostly just my friend (pilot/CFI) letting me fly around and do touch and gos whenever I go up with him. So, I finally decided to take the plunge and become a DCS guy. I just built a PC for this project, and began constructing my sim pit based on things I've seen on YouTube and read here on the forums. I bought a desk, hotas, mounts, Track IR, rudders, etc, and, now I'm patiently awaiting for DCS to finish downloading/updating as I type so I can load up on my 50% discount for new users. Hopefully I'll see some of y'all in the skies of DCS. I'll be the noob in the F/A-18C saying the wrong things on comms and fidgeting with his radar trying to lock donor targets that haven't been picked up on my own radar yet! Cheers!
