Placed my order for the super bundle when it was announced. I have an 8KX that I will use on the 12K trade-in program. I briefly had a Crystal but mine arrived damaged and took months to get a refund, I did love the 35PPD visuals so the Super at 50-57PPD will be perfect for my needs. I am betting though the 57 PPD lenses will be separate purchases or likely like the crystal 42 PPD lenses only available to those who get in the first wave of headsets as those never were sold separately and aren't still in the store much like the wide FOV lenses for the standard crystal.

Sorry it took so long to see this I lost track of the topic. Sucks about loosing the one monitor But I think you'll like going to one big one. I don't know any specifics to that cockpit. Took me a bit due to some IRL delays but I went with a 77" OLED and wall mounted it to sit above my where my WINWING MIPS sit on my simpit.

I wish I would win The 8KX was had zero issues but the crystal has been a nightmare for me and a handful of people, I have noticed a semi common denominator is that most got the headset from their amazon store. I ordered mine through Pimax's official site but after a week of them having it marked shipped but never shipping it I got a hold of them and to get mine on time they sent me one from their Amazon store and well...It arrived damaged. It worked eventually took three days of support emails and following their diagnose and repair steps but had a broken/ missing pin under the right lens. Their are supposed to be 4, I had 3. This cause connection issues and also effected the headset view. Took multiple reseat of the lens to finally get it to read and run but again its broken and would fail soon so pimax offered to fix it, after a month of back and forth emails , some emails never got replies. The broken controller was how they packaged it. Stick sticks to the right and doesn't return on its own. When they shipped it they put the controllers loose in the box and not properly seated in the cutouts. They also put the whole black pimax box upside down in the main shipping box so that when you followed the arrows for right side up it had everything upside down which is likely what damaged everything as the pimax box has no top padding so in shipping everything was sitting on the box bottom and taking 100% of any force FedEx put on it. When ever I get something expensive in that's broken 98% of the time it comes FedEx. My last email to them has been more than 72 hours ago with no response (not counting the weekend). I am keeping the accessories that will fit the 12k (light house faceplate, pads, dmas etc) and will try pimax again when the 12k releases as I am part of the 8KX for 12K trade in for 100% of the purchase price (which is more than a crystal will trade in for) but for now nothing will replace my 8KX till their QA and CS improves. I expect Pimax controllers to be bad as they have never been good but I don't like receiving a 1600 broken headset and a month+ of headache which isnt over yet to chance it again. Had their CS responded in a quicker manner and not ignore things I was saying (took three emails with photos before they even mentioned fixing the broken controller) then I might trust them more but they have eroded my trust to 50/50 for now. Doesn't help the 12k has been behind for years. But I am glad most of you here haven't had this experience and hope you don't. EDIT: I would still use the 8KX if it wasnt me needing to have lenses now.

Take pictures of your crystal when it arrives before using it. Mine arrived damaged and with a damaged controller and they gave me a fit as customer service is horrendous after a month of back and forth emails I am finally telling them not to replace it but to refund me and i will not try them again till the 12k comes out and i trade in my 8KX for it. Image is great with the crystal but the quality not so much, this is the fourth pimax product I got that was defective in two years.

Nice F-16C free flight in caucus map get 167-300 fps depending on altitude at 4k DLSS quality and all settings and sliders at the maximum values on a 4090 and 14900K. I believe if I remember right pre update the same was about 140-280ish. will try VR later.

I find the opposite with my LCD monitor a ROG PG32UQX that has HDR1400 (it can actually peak at 1800). Find it very much not a gimmick but that may depend on the quality of the LCD monitor. Now if they would make an OLED that had a HDR above 400-600 that would be perfect.

Using it now but the eye gaze and focus view feature seem not to work. EDIT: Never mind my crystal is junk and I am contacting Pimax to return it and going back to a monitor instead. Found internal damage to my unit from the factory and a total of 7 issues with the headset and customer service My 8KX never had all these issues. Maybe they will fix it with the 12K.

Just got my crystal yesterday February 12th and have to say its a piece of junk. I think mine arrived broke. Its very uncomfortable, the eye trackers don't work (the IR lights wont come on and wont calibrate) My lenses are on so tight they cant be removed even following the step by step instructions from pimax, I have audio only in the left DMAS speaker and the FOV is I swear less than 50! and its giving me warnings in the app that it has mix matched lenses. Its nothing like my older 8KX, not even 1/4 its FOV so something is definitely wrong as it should be half the 8KX's FOV. Its like looking through a very small tube and I can see lost of distortion to the edges. My 8KX is a lot more comfortable, only used the 8KX for a few days and the screen effect was so bad I just put it up awaiting the 12k for trade in but finally broke down and got a crystal after everyone talked about how clear it was. It seems they changed the face fitment for wider faced people which in turn made the thing un wearable for me even with aftermarket face pads and comfort straps to help. Oh all this is even after they marked my order shipped back on Feb 5th and never did ship it for over a week and I had to reach out to them many times to get it shipped finally by letting them know I could get it on their amazon store next day yet the one I ordered from the officail store never shipped despite saying on the site it did. Oh and they did not send me my voucher for the top strap like they were supposed too. Absolute waste of money and so far no response from Pimax.

The Download on their site is gone now despite the extension to March 15th, 2024.

Issue fixed itself after another reinstall. Also I have a paid program called driver easy and it found an updated tobii driver despite me downloading everything from their site. I thought it odd but never had an issue with driver easy giving a bad driver after over 400 driver updates so I allowed it to update it and the tracker works better now.

I know right. Stupid tobii works well when it works but anytime I reboot my PC I have to uninstall and reinstall the tobii experience program of my tobii wont work I can verify in device manager though the device is good just stays lights off and not detected in the app unless I uninstall and reinstall, such a pain. Must really hate windows 11.

Have done all that. Even have the DLL in both the regular bin and bin-mt folders, still nothing. Eye and head tracking works flawless in other titles (19 others I own that can use it) though just not DCS. Guess its back to my track IR. EDIT: Well after two reboots it suddenly worked but only after briefly playing another title that uses the tobii, guess for some reason I have to play another title first before it activates, seen some posy windows 11 doesnt like the tobii so maybe thats it? EDIT: well it works for head movement but for some reason it disables half my keyboard buttons when using it......Got it back to working after alt tabing then going back in to the game so that was strange but I am liking the new boost feature for dcs movements that tobii added a few hours ago. bout the same as when I use my custom Track IR profile.

Same issue mine doesnt work either with DCS.
