  1. Thank you very much... you provided a lot of useful informations. I believe that your kind, comprehensive and clear answers will help not only me, but also others who are just entering DCS World.
  2. I apologize if I missed the forum category for this post. It seemed like a logical place. I searched the forum and the internet for some explanation and the stated differences between the Su-25 model that comes for free in DCS World and the modules that are bought, under a very similar name, the Su-25. If someone already gets a free Su-25, why he would then buy it again? I guess maybe the cockpit is "fuller" of life, more tactile, additional switches and levers ... but I'm also interested in whether their skins are compatible, interchangeable or is there some "handle" and there? Thank you kindly for your reply.
  3. Wow, that's amazing work! I'm a little envy man
  4. Huh.. huge price drop, too much good to be real. Yes, there is PayPal protection etc. but RTX30xx for less than price of a average joystick..? I'm a little suspicious...
  5. Agree. I come from a very small country where this type of game is not widely accepted or understood by many people and computer owners. It takes a computer much better than the one to play CStrike and accessories. Not only is it hard to explain why you bought a € 200+ HOTAS, but how come you “only” gave € 60 for one model airplane! I realize that sometimes there are some bugs in the game / model that need to be fixed, but "helping" faster debugging with some payments seems excessive to me. What about those who can't or don't want to? Someone, who has the options, can for example buy some models or maps and make some kind of giveaway for those with a shallow pocket or those whose price refuses to accept these games; for example, through a quiz, a game in which the prizes are models and maps ... something like that.
  6. Excellent like some earlier; I visited your web site and saw there many very successfully skins! Man, you was very busy in order to make it so good!
  7. Great skins, very nice job you did. Maybe you should make also a one with s/n 17156; MiG-21 with mentioned number shoot down on November 12, 1991. near Croatian town Djakovo, now preserved in the "Memorial Centre of Homeland War" in Vukovar.
  8. Really? I should have sworn I saw a group of F-16s on the stand on Yt, and they were all “dressed” in the same camouflage colors, something like black eagles ... I don’t have an F-16 in DCS and maybe that skin is already built. .. but somehow I'm disappointed to waste days drawing some skin and then only I can see it. And what to do ... the server does not read and does not transmit user-defined skins to the public. Thanks for explaining.
  9. I think I'm good at working with Photoshop & GIMP ... I have some experience in changing textures for ETS2, and that shouldn't be too much of a problem. I wonder if my altered textures (livery) are seen in online game mode or are they only visible to me? I don't remember seeing an explanation about it somewhere, so I take this opportunity to thank everyone for their response. The fact that we can mess with the skins is definitely a welcome option and I welcome it.
  10. Honestly, my experience with flight simulations dates back to the (then) legendary Atari 1040STFM, where I spent months and months playing the Panavia Tornado and F-16 Combat Pilot, and later, on PC, Jane’s USAF. Of course, the models and philosophy of DCS and the mentioned games are very different, but I guess I'm not completely "rusty". After taking over the "vanilla" DCS, I tried to do some training only with the help of a keyboard and a mouse, and of course, it was a desperate move for the crying god. These days I am reading reviews of various flight sticks because my budget does not allow me to purchase top models, and I am hesitant between Thrustmaster Hotas X and 16000, I will probably opt for the latter. Warthog is beyond my capabilities. By the way, in my country, the choice of similar equipment is very scarce, few people want to separate themselves from shooting games in which everything is solved with a mouse and keyboard. After that I plan to practice a bit with the Su-25T and then get the first serious jet, and your suggestions will surely help me make the right choice and enjoy the DCS at least half as much as you do. Thank you.
  11. When I was young, I often listened to people say: if you don't know what's good, I guess you know what's expensive. From what I've seen at Virpil and WWSimStore it seems they have very powerful and quite expensive things, but I would never recommend them to someone who hasn't spent at least a year in DCS to see if it's a game he wants to invest a lot of money for input units. I'd rather recommend something from the Thrustmaster program ... and I'm planning something like that myself. But everyone has their own reason...
  12. Well, good people have already answered and said all Pro & Cons ... when I decided to get the DCS "vanilla" version, I wanted to download it from the official site first but my connection is not so fast and I was afraid that maybe the connection could break before I take it all; so I decided on the Stem version, and not knowing about the problem of "incompatibility" of the models ... I don't know, maybe later I'll "hang on to the peg" Steam version and try to download the standalone ...
  13. I am in a similar dilemma; at the moment it seems a bit too expensive top models until I master all the charms of the DCS world, so I think maybe the MiG-21 or Mirage 2000, as some serious start.
  14. Littlefloor here, I i was a big fan of airplane simulation back when i had an Atari 1040STFM and i spent a lot of time flying in Tornado and F-16 Combat Pilot games, later on PC Jane's USAF. Not so long ago I tried a DCS A-10 at my friend's and I liked it, but I didn't have a joystick, so I didn't decide to get my own. Now I've downloaded from Steam the DCS and I'm trying unsuccessfully to "fly" only with the keyboard until in the meantime I select and get some HOTAS system. Compared to previous experiences DCS seems very more realistic and complex but I hope to master these skills and enjoy as the rest of this fine community. I am a big fan of MiG-21, F-4 and Tornado ... I hope that the last two models will one day be part of DCS
