  1. Thanks all, the clue about the mouse needing to be "in the DCS Window" when entering the plane seems to be it. I'm using A10C at present and last night I was able to get the mouse cursor. I made very sure it was within the window of DCS before starting a mission and this time I had the cross-hair cursor in cockpit. I'll experiment a bit more but it looks like I can solve it for now. Cheers Tim
  2. Now that I got back into DCS, I'm just waiting for another TM Articulation Sphere to break... It's only a matter of time. I see a number of new products out there but still haven't found a replacement metal articulation sphere (and associated bits). Have I missed one? Thanks Tim
  3. Yes, happens everytime. Tried in game to turn off and on Hand Controllers and Mouse etc, no joy. Only item I found on the board was an older post about the mouse getting out of the window on the desktop which caused it to get lost in the cockpit, so I'll mess around with that today. I've also tried the Alt-Enter full screen for the mirror on desktop but no luck. Since this is a fairly new PC and new install (of DCS non-Steam), I'm sure it'll be some Nvidia setting or missing setting in DCS but damned if I can find it lol. Cheers Tim
  4. Just coming back to DCS after a year or so off and now have a fresh install with a brand new rift S. Wow what a difference in readability with this thing compared to the CV1. Disabled the hand controllers that was driving me nuts but still have mouse enabled. For some strange reason I’m not getting the mouse in the cockpit to be able to click on buttons. At least the cursor does not appear, if I move it around buttons to randomly highlight but not in any really organized fashion. If I turn on the dreaded hand controllers they work fine and I can click buttons. But as I understand if I leave that enabled you lose mouse control so I leave it disabled. Mouse works fine in any on screen menus and anywhere else just no in-cockpit cursor. Has something changed in the past year or two? I remember with my original rift CV1 I was able to turn on a headset cursor so I could just look at the switch and click a button on my HOTAS I can’t seem to get that working anymore either. Any ideas guys? Thanks Tim
  5. Well just got an Oculus Rift S to upgrade from my CV1, loving it so far. Got my pit all running again and boom... slew control is all over the map, won't calibrate... So just ordered mine! Long backlog though. Cheers Tim
  6. Yep, 11 minutes of pure power... till the water runs out. Hopefully we get to manage the Turbo as well, I'd love to see a fully detailed P-47 where you actually have to FLY the aircraft.
  7. Well Thrustmaster responded, cannot order the bell, only the sphere assembly. So it's CA glue for now and then time to break out CAD. I think part of the issue is when you are taking apart the stick, the magnet "tower" is very tight inside the sphere and when you pull it out is when you have a good chance of weakening or breaking it. Mine only had one of the posts that hold the magnet broken, the other was fine. Second issue is they just melt the top of the posts to keep the magnet in place, so when you break the top melted part the magnet just falls into the assembly jamming things up. Fun Fun.
  8. Correction to my last, it was NOT the sphere that broke this time. It was one of the little plastic posts that hold the magnet on. This is attached to the "Bell" above the articulation sphere. So I'm going to try to temporarily superglue it and order a replacement from Thrustmaster. --- That being said, thanks for posting that link to the Russian board. I signed up and was then able to download the file (after google translate lol). Then simply imported into AutoCAD123 and exported an STL. Then imported into Simplify3D and printed at 100% infil in ABS, turned out AMAZING. Didn't need any sanding just slight enlargement of the holes with the proper size drill bit and perfect fit. So now I can make spares of those as they break. I'll post pics later and put it on Thingiverse with credit to the original author. Note I would expect this ABS one to be a temp until a good one arrives lol.
  9. Any word on the Shapeways model or the CAD file to print our own? My second one just broke and now I'm scrambling.
  10. Any update on this? I just broke my second sphere and emailed support to order another one. A bit sick of this... I have a 3D printer and can print temp. replacements if someone has a CAD file of the sphere? (I tried the IL2 forum but that thread isn't there anymore and I can't read Russian lol). Thanks Tim
  11. And here we are almost 3 years later... the replacement gimbal just broke tonight... I can't believe someone hasn't made a metal one yet... arghh lol.
  12. Repair does nothing for this. Change your Windows text size back to 100% and then reboot (Some people say you can get away with 125%). I just went through this the other day. Cheers
  13. Well mine finally broke too... I just emailed customer service and we'll see what they say. If it turns out they are not available anymore I'll likely hand-craft one out of aluminum. At least then I know it will last (of course they likely the outer piece will break lol). Too bad someone with a little CNC spare time could not whip up a couple. For this expensive of a stick I think they could charge a pretty penny.
  14. Just wanted to add a huge thanks! Just upgraded to 1.2.7 et all and this was driving me nuts. Now I can spool up to 90% and not move again. Setup my pedals as per the youtube link and problems solved... at least for when on the ground and not moving very fast. --- Now the issue is when landing or moving more than a snails pace. If I hit the brakes in these cases, the red percentage bar goes up nicely to 100% in the controls window for each brake but the flat gray bar (no idea what it means) bounces up and down like crazy. If I'm going very slow and press brakes, the gray bar stays at the position of the brakes. Any ideas on this one? Cheers Tim Note: I suspect it's the anti-skid system, never used to behave this "realistic" that I recall in 1.1.1.1 but is different in 1.2.7, if I disable the anti the grey bar does not bounce all over (anti lock I bet). Did some more testing and laughing my butt off now. Using the external view you can clearly see that this is design as intended. Turn off anti skid and rip down the runway, lock up brakes and watch her skid to the side... love it lol.
  15. And think I answered my own question: http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=72021&highlight=ladder+offset Testing now...
  16. Getting back into A10 so I've completely cleaned out the old 1.1.1.1. Clean install of DCS world, CA, A10C 1.2.7, Win 7 Pro. My problem is the HUD ladder is offset to the right as per the screenshots below. I've tried with and without TrackIR, same issue (Mini-HUD disabled). Note that it was fine on my 1.1.1.1 install that I removed. There are a ton of posts on various HUD and mini-HUD issues but nothing specific to this one. Anyone have a clue or is it a current issue with 1.2.7? (Screenshots are taken with Track IR off, cockpit camera centered, autopilot on, instant action Georgia mission).
  17. Hi Guys, been a while since I've had time to play so I just patched up from 1.1.0.6 to the latest 1.1.1.1 and now all of a sudden my MFD exports are "distorted. Two 1920x1080 monitors stacked on top of each other, resolution in sim is 1920x2160 (LG 42" LCD & Acer T230H Touchscreen), dual GTX 580. Main monitor is just fine, looks great, aspect ratio just fine. The lower monitor has the MFD's squeezed together near the middle (distorted) and no changes in the lua file seem to affect it. Nothing has changed in my monitor lua file: So I'm at a loss as to what is going on... used to work perfectly. Has something changed in 1.1.1.1 to affect MFD export? (I've been digging in the forums but no luck so far). Thanks Tim EDIT: Too easy, figured it out. You can't leave the aspect ratio at screen.aspect anymore since the sim aspect ratio for my example is 0.8888889. So by editting the lua file and changing the aspect = screen.aspect to aspect = 1920/1080, everything is now good.
  18. Weird I just had this last night. Airspeed on HUD was showing 0 at all times, gauge was fine (hence Pitot was fine and yes Pitot heat was on). Is there some OSB button somewhere that gets accidently clicked or when you go into test mode that changes this display? When I switched to another jet after landing, the IAS was fine in that one.
  19. Very nice!!! Now we just need to buy some up here ;-)
  20. LOL, we don't eject in Canada, we can't afford to! Not enough planes left... That being said, six are over seas for the No-Fly-Zone in Libya, should be some good CF combat camera footage on Canadian Army News ;-)
  21. Heheh I know, just hoping to pull some of those programmers that are making things all nice and pretty over to the poor slaves that have to fix the code ;-)
  22. Goof grief, am I the only one that doesn't want these eye candy features... At least not yet... How about fixing the known bugs first???? Then add the extra major functions for exporting to keep the Helios & pit builder types happy (export radio displays, CDU display, counter measure displays, etc). Then go add the eye candy like pilots and shadows etc. I'm dying for the day I can click outside the main window and not have my apu shut off or random switches turn off! Tim
  23. At this point I'd say allow the menu to be scrolled and selected, then make it a bindable item. That ways users can bind it to whatever the want (POV Hat with shift modifier etc). Personally I'd bind it to the ptt switch on the Warthog throttle and use the press in button to select the item. That way I'm using the same control to do all the radio items. Tim
  24. So let me understand this... even with the insanely pain-in-the-ass Starforce protection they are already posting videos on how to get around it? I.e. The much vaunted Starforce protection isn't working?
