  1. Nightstorm , the launcher still needs to download some files from gitlab, so it doesnt help.
  2. Not sure when the gitlab server resets its daily counter, but maybe at midnight UTC.
  3. Bearfoot, because the gitlab server has exceeded its 1GB/day download limit, the app can no longer download openvr_api.dll. So you have to wait until the timer is reset and try again with everyone else
  4. Okay guys just an update on my settings and what I see. I used only the AH-64D and A-10CII (new cockpit), on the Caucasus map Instant action on the runway. So this is what I tried: The FPS below is based on looking straight ahead when sitting on the runway. If I fly up in the air I normally can maintain a good 45-50FPS. Again I am just a single player guy, who likes cruising the skies. So all you MP Mavericks out there, of course YMMV... 150% scaling, no MR, no MSAA - AH-64D 37FPS, A-10C 45FPS This is by far the best looking mode in my humble opinion. I also cap my Radeon card to 45FPS (Radeon Chill) to avoid the FPS bouncing about. This is the best I have ever seen DCS in the A-10C, and I have flown the A-10 for 10 years. From what I know now, I could never go back to non-VR, but like a heroin addict, I am going to be throwing a lot of money to chase that high in the years to come;) 100% scaling, no MR, MSAA x 4 - AH-64D 37FPS, A-10C 45 FPS (Same results as above, am I CPU bound? - 9900K OC'd to 5GHz, no messing around with cores, pinning them etc). Looks almost the same, maybe a bit softer in my eyes. 100% scaling, MR, MSAA x 4 - Looks like hell with jelly-cam, so I didnt even bother getting results. 150% scaling, no MR, MSAA x 4 - Looks a bit softer in my eyes and now my FPS tanks to like 27FPS. Just happened to try it, but of course its not a viable option. DCS settings below. Again I havent really messed with this much.. and a lot is due to personal taste. Anything that sticks out as a real FPS hog below?
  5. I TOO HAVE DECIDED, I am never going back....SteamVR is dead in DCS. Long live Open XR! Its just too god damn amazing! I am running a 9900K (OC to 5GHZ) , Radeon overclocked 6900XT (I let the software do it) , Reverb G2, 150% custom resolution, no MSAA (not really needed). AH-64D, F/A-18 and A-10C are just incredible. On Caucasus map I am getting 50-60FPS most of the time in each module. (Main menu, Instant Action , <module>, On the Ramp) Hands down the best single mod I have ever made to DCS in my 10 years of DCS. I just sit there on the runway and look at the cockpit in awe. Thank you to all involved for the amazing work.
  6. I took off my detents for a smooth collective with my CM3. I cant have detents messing up the collective. It should be a nice continuous smooth motion.
  7. Do you mess with the configuration in the Virpil software? If you add logical buttons or change anything in the Virpil configuration tool, it causes your DCS config to be wiped. This is because your Virpil device comes back to DCS as a completely new device (you changed/added/removed buttons etc). But you can fix it by making a backup of your Input configs and then renaming the old control panel/throttle/joystick lua file to the new name that DCS gives it upon discovery. Go here: Users>"Your PC name>Saved Games>DCS>Config>Input
  8. What made all the difference to me is that I watch the vertical speed indicator like a hawk, and make lots of small inputs to the collective. Previously I was descending way too fast and got into settling with power and then promply crashed.
  9. Yeah I confirm this is a big problem for me in VR. The flickering is really annoying. I hope they can stop the flickering because its starting to me feel queasy.
  10. I was 12 years old and watched Video Ordnance and the episode showing me the AH-64 Apache the first time. I was awe struck at that helicopter and now 34 years later, I am flying it. Just amazing
  11. I got my first set of Virpil stuff on Friday, just after the 64's release. I have had my Warthog gear for 8 years now, and it's time to get something new. And man does it make a difference! The Virpil rudder pedals are just amazing. So smooth and easy to move. Makes helis a pleasure to fly after my crappy plastic Saitek Combat rudder pedals. Warbird base with the F16 TM stick. Also super easy to move with the default springs and so precise. It has made flying the AH-64D so much easier. I am using the CM3 Throttle as collective, and flaps is bound to engine power (both). Works well for me Not much use yet for the Control Panel 2, but I will figure something out If you are on the fence about Virpil stuff, just do it. Trust me it's so worth it. If your Virpil gear serves you for 10-15 years, is the 1000 bucks you spend on it really that bad?
  12. Hi guys, I have been flying my ass off since the AH-64D arrived on Thursday evening and I absolutely love it. And somehow all my Virpil stuff arrived on Friday, so it was just pure joy to fly a new module and test out all my gear. But since I have been flying 64, the flickering of the rotors is starting to annoy me. Anyone found any way of reducing the flicker? I am already trying to beef up my sea legs in VR in this bird, but the flicker is adding to the discomfort. Anyone else having the same issue, or do I need to man up ;) Thanks, Simon.
