  1. The Harrier has that basically. You can skip alignment on servers based on your special settings. You don‘t really have any advantages but you don‘t have to wait. The setting is optional, those who want to wait can do it. Precision is the same.
  2. Hi, please disregard. I copied the install folder from C to my DCS SSD, edited the path in the registry and ran the updater from there. This seems to have worked.
  3. Good evening everyone, I had to replace my mainboard which led to a new windows installation on C:. My DCS Open beta installation uses to be on another SSD. I think I might have made a mistake during the initial installation of DCS, missing to change the path for the updater to go and now, whenever I run the DCS installer it places the updater and first folders into "C:Program Files\Eagle Dynamics". I deleted these files and also removed the registry entry in HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Eagle Dynamics". I even replaced this path with my path into my Z drive. I also deleted the Saved Games folder and a folder in Appdata. Could you please tell me where else this path into C:Programs is stored or where I can change it? Why doesn't the installer ask me where to go? Thank you Marc edit: corrected the english version of the program files path.
  4. From a strategical point it would definitely make sense for ED to hold them back as long as possible and when sales of the F15 are so low that they need to do something bring the AGM and showcase it. With weapons being insourced now it's completely up to them unfortunately. And we know for how long ong they are able to "promise" things.
  5. That was not the point. you need to fly it twice, in this case with a totally different setup, complete waste of time like in sooo many occasions here.. Then the receiving end needs to watch it, just to confirm the gear lever wasn't down... or the axes didn't work. That's completely pointless, just share your assumption and the problem would be solved.
  6. Maybe a suggestion to make it simpler for everyone: just formulate your assumption and recommend to check the axes instead of asking for tracks which takes a significant amount of time compared to a simple check advice. Keep in mind that 2D and VR requires changes outside the sim, restart, possibly different settings inside the sim etc.. Tracks are helpful if it becomes complicated, but really not if it‘s just to confirm a suspicion ^^
  7. Also during forward flight it requires a lot of left pedal for the ball to be centered. When you use the cyclic to the left or right you need to press opposite pedal now for the ball to remain centered. Something‘s quite off at the moment.
  8. REALLY bad design decision and not at all comprehensible or necessary. I have different setups for different aircraft, for example can I use the zoom of most aircraft on the paddle switch of my warthog hotas. But not every aircraft, the Mig21 for example has a brake lever at this position, so I assigned the brakes to the pedal switch and the zoom was on the thumb button depress. Or take the F18, same situation, VR zoom on the thumb button because the pedal is definitely necessary for what it actually is, AP off, G override. But I can't just set the VR zoom to the thumb button in general because this is the force trim button in helicopters. Please, it's fine to put it into UI Layer for those who use the same setup for everything... But bring the selection back individually, it's absolutely not usable for me and I suppose many others how it is now. Oh btw.. not only the SPYGLASS but the VR zoom AT ALL.
  9. huh? everything? If you look through the ATFLIR and see absolutely nothing although there are supposed to be all kind of tanks, APCs and stuff down there that list is going to be long.. Good luck finding an SA-3 P19 Radar even though the sun is burning down on it.. Your best bet is using TV. The FLIR is completely borked, it's not about some models lacking a good heat signature.
  10. There is plenty of material completely publicly available, even at the Tube, that shows how well 80's and 90's FLIR worked. I found it astonishing to see old tapes of Mike Pietrucha (Starbaby) from his Strike Eagle sorties where he digitalized stone old material and it's a clearer contrast (Not picture, let's be fair lol) than in DCS. In DCS howevery it's impossible to see anything that has its engines off and even if it's driving or fighting it's barely visible above the green background.
  11. And now it comes and from the looks of it it won‘t be complete again it‘s hilarious.
  12. Tststs you gotta support that here! No FCR in 2023 and beyond means no FCR EVER! Ha!
  13. The elevators are normal. Do you press the FCS reset and TO trim buttons after engine start? There is no trim required after takeoff and cleaning up, the F18 trims its elevators itself.
  14. When I‘m hit by a Manpad I usually go down in the Mi24, sometimes dead right away, sometimes with an engine or control failure, sometimes with no tail rotor. The AI Igla doesn‘t track very well though so I often hear a bang but it actually missed me. Stingers seem to be preciser. Could be true but I just don‘t know it. AI choppers just don‘t die at all though unless you take a sledgehammer to crack a nut. Or as we‘d say in Germany: you take a cannon ball to shoot a sparrow.
  15. Lol yes! recently I watched a Mi8 in a dynamic campaign fly 100 km back to its farp… on flames and like suiss cheese. just last night in another mission I flew the Harrier and fired 2 Sidewinders into another red Mi8, it smoked but flew. Then I sent an F-Maverick after it which finally vaporized the poor chopper. The AI damage model really desperately requires a rework.
