  1. I would like to upgrade my controller to something more appropriate for F-16. I understand that Thrustmaster is no longer in business so I need to look at a similar brand of controllers. Any thoughts or suggestions on what will work suitably for the F-16? Thanks
  2. I'm interested in purchasing the trackIR5 unit and would like to ask if anybody has one? I found them for sale on ebay and would like to know if anybody bought one from that site, or, if you bought it directly from the distributor. I am curious about the quality from ebay. If anybody has thoughts to share then I would appreciate hearing from you. Thanks
  3. I'm looking at buying a TrackIR5 and wanted some input from users. I found TrackIR5 on ebay and wanted to know if anybody purchased the same item. If so, are you satisfied with the product? Thanks
  4. From your experience, do all IRTrackers have a zoom feature? I've started looking at various models but some don't get into many details of the features.
  5. Hi Thanks for the video. Just when I thought I'm starting to understand, a new surprise pops up.
  6. Hi Rudel_chw Sorry to be troubling you again but I'm hoping to get some advice please. You explained the process of zooming in and out but I think I'm doing something wrong. The video tutorial on cold starts shows the user fluidly zooming in and out and moving around the cockpit and this is what I'm trying to do. I don't know if he's using the mouse or control stick. Here is the link if you can take a moment to look at: At time frame 2:10 he fluidly zooms in and moves up and down. I can't mimic that movement. Can you suggest what I need to do? So far I can look around the cockpit using the arrow buttons on my number bad but not as nicely as he does. Any suggestion will be appreciated. Thank you.
  7. Thank you for your help. I found & downloaded the "Chuck's guide". It's huge! You mentioned a kneepad. Does the sim offer an actual kneepad in the cockpit for reference (Falcon BMS had one in game) or are you suggesting I just make up a pad with notes and keep it next to me while flying? I'm sorry if I misunderstood. Thank you again for the other answers. Much appreciated.
  8. It's all done and installed. But, I do take notes for future reference in case I need to re-install. Always good to know what to look for to avoid the same hassles next time around.
  9. I didn't know what category to post this question so I'm presenting it here. I finally have F-16 installed and I'm preparing to train. I have some question first. 1. Is there a keyboard shortcut diagram somewhere for the controls that I can print out? 2. I want to look at the panels and zoom in to see greater detail especially when learning the engine startup procedure. Is there a zoom option available? 3. Regarding the training manual. How accurate is it as related to training? Can I rely on it or should I follow the training videos provided? Here is why I ask. I used to fly Falcon BMS and the manual was a nuisance, practically useless. The directions were too confusing to follow. I simply like to have a reference guide close to me while I'm learning. Thank you.
  10. Hi. Thanks for sharing your thoughts. I was scratching my head at comment of only a few minutes was needed. I'm guessing the individual started the process, stopped the video and then turned it back on to create the illusion that only a few minutes passed. For me, I waited in total for about 4 hours. What made it even worse for me was that my download rate indicated 0.0. but it was still downloading nevertheless. Thanks.
  11. I finally purchased the software and I'm in the process of installation but I'm not sure if I've run into a problem. I'm installing "DCS open beta" and the ETA is 8 hours until completion. This can't be right. I watched an installation video for DCS and according to that, this should just take a few minutes. As you read this post, I've already been waiting for over an hour. Any thoughts? Thanks.
