Can I suggest the Skyhawk mod? It looks amazing in VR, it's free and it has some vibe I don't find in any other module, even paid ones.

I agree the A-4 is awesome but is it a 3rd Gen? I don’t know.

@Buzz313th you should download it anyways because it’s free.. also I would suggest OV-10 Bronco cause one it’s free and two super fun to fly in VR.

  2. Quick question for everyone.. I’ve been messing around with the Forced IPD setting within DCS VR settings. If you aren’t familiar here is a thread describing it:

Anyways it seems that every module cockpit is a different setting but should be consistent amongst same make/model headset.

Question is should a separate thread be created for Aero owners so that we can share our Force IPD settings? For example I am using a 29 for the A10C II because I think the scale/size of the cockpit is correct but I would like another Aero user to confirm that.  Just thought I would get y’all opinion first before starting a thread that is either useful or useless.

    Cheers 🍻

I'm guessing you should have it by Thanksgiving for sure.  I ordered mine and received it in about 2 weeks.  When it was at Customs, they emailed me some paperwork to sign.  I just checked some dates when I ordered mine.  I received an email confirming my payment was successful on 5/17/23.  My order shipped on 5/22/23.  The Docusign for the import was on 5/24/23.  Not long after that I received my Varjo.

My same experience; @javelina1 keep an eye on your emails and especially your junk/spam box but not overly complicated. Once it was released from customs i received mine in two or three days.

Thanks for the reply.   Is the 86 the only Gen 1 or 2 DCS Jet you have?  If not, why the 86 over the others?

I have P51, Spitfire and Mosquito although I am not very proficient in either one of those. I love WWII history and when beginning DCS was excited to get into Gen 1 aircraft but learning the A10CII has overtaken my time.

From a “fun in VR” standpoint the F86 is my favorite; I have no Soviet era aircraft to compare to.

  5. I love the F-86 Saber in VR. I fly and love the A10CII for so many reasons but loading up the Saber in VR is like stepping into a classic sports car. Relatively simple and FAST; I’m not sure how else to describe it. When I need just a nice break from the complexity of life in general the F-86 just seems to take me back to a “simpler” time. I am hoping the F4E will be similar.

I'm currently pretty happy with DLSS Quality, sharpness 0.2, technicolor 3.   DLSS does a pretty good job of eliminating shimmering if your sharpness setting is not too high.  The performance is the best so far vs prior releases with the combination of DLSS and dynamic foveation (90 fps in most freeflights).  The new graphic update adds a lot of options to play with, almost too many, but that's good.  Still have to try manual DLSS settings as well as using newer DLSS version (DCS currently uses 3.5.0).

Thanks. I just tried it briefly and looked “better”.

  7. Alright back up and flying after a few weeks due to remodel of my home office and adjacent rooms. I had my entire sim-pit covered to prevent dust and my Aero back in the box in a safe space.

Just did a quick flight out of Nellis to check that systems were operational after 2.9 upgrade and no issues thankfully.

So what is everyone running under the new settings or are you just leaving things set as usual?

    Cheers 🍻

Ok so to update - had some big issues with Vaicom and worked on that off and on mostly all weekend, so no flying then.

Got everything back in perfect working order this morning - whew - and just had a wonderful flight in the Hornet off the Super Carrier in the Persian Gulf. Ok so regarding these headphones - both my ears are still totally stopped up and hard for me to hear, however after some adjustments I got the sound up to where it is pretty loud. OMG I am so impressed with these headphones. The richness, the deep bass, it all sounds great. Fits just fine over my Aero strap, no issues. I am very, very impressed and can't wait to hear them in all their glory after my Doc irrigates my ears on Wednesday. The Mic on the headset is doing great as well, no issues using it with Vaicom Pro/Voice Attack.

On a side note - during all this I had also replaced my 32GB of PC3200 CL14 ddr4 ram with 64GB of PC3200 CL16 DDR4 ram. I run vysnc locked at 45 fps no motion smoothing with my Aero. So I do not know about any FPS increase but I can tell you it is even a smoother experience now. Everything is just very fluid and smooth, more so than before that is for sure. So yes I believe DCS does benefit from having more than 32 GB of system ram.

So glad they worked out for you and thank you for the review. Always nice to hear, pun unintended, from someone that has some experience in a subject. My caveman brain with my Nova was simply “sound is good… me like” 🤣.

The only benefit I have with the wireless is that I do have it connected to my phone so when I am flying I don’t miss a call from the wife or kids, everyone else I ignore. I do use the wire direct to the headset jack.

Hopefully all went well at the doctors and nothing more serious is going on with your ears/hearing.

The FOV thingy I don't ponder on at all because the headset looks perfectly nature as like putting a helmet on and looks realistic enough for me to enjoy and just have fun.

I agree 100% and said that early on. I came from the Pimax 8kx and the wide FOV but the benefits of the Aero outweigh the smallest reduction in FOV; IMHO. I am 100% pleased with the Aero

Can we be honest then?  just tell everyone we need to be the the BEYOND part of the 2023 and BEYOND video?  or not?   Waiting is worth, but waiting got a limit.   Thinking of standing in the wind and waiting a girl uh?     End of the 2022 ---- 1quater 2023 ---- Before the mid of the year ----- October      Then? I wish they could put The F-4 with the Pumpkin when Halloween comes.    Wish to be spooked by the F-4 Phantom rather than the yelling kids at the doorway.

An Oct 31st release would be a genius marketing move… Spooky Phantom. But alas I am not putting faith in that but cool idea
