  1. The F-4s maneuverability is impressive indeed! But the F-4 numbers in your charts seem to be a but higher than the ones in the E-M diagram I posted above. How would you explain that? Just the different loadout? BTW, that’s impressive work @Smyth!
  2. Great input from everyone here! It is a pleasure to follow that constructive discussion! I really appreciate that! Many thanks
  3. That is also my interpretation of the data I have at hand!
  4. These are amazing documents! I especially love the included drawings in the first one, relating to the „Zeitgeist“ of that time! Big thanks for that! The different depictions of flight performance data however make comparisons quite difficult..
  5. Here is the E-M diagram for the F-4E (slatted or not idk) - 7g sustained at M0.8 (515kt). That would give the edge to the 104.
  6. Does anybody have access to E-M diagrams for the Zipper? Everywhere it is stated that its turn performance was so bad, but if you compare its corner speed and corresponding load factor with that of an F-4 it does not seem so bad at all. I guess the S-version should be even better. That topic is discussed here for instance, but I would like to compare some data.
  7. So what do you think has changed? For the better or worse?
  8. I would much rather like to see an F-15A or early F-15C before the MSIP-II-upgrade! That would be the ideal plane for Cold War scenarios vs. the projected MiG-29 9-12. No need for another SPAMRAAM missile truck - the F-15E will fill that role good enough!
  9. Fantastic, thanks
  10. Hello everybody, I do not know if it has been discussed previously - at least I could not find it here. Is there an E-M diagram for the F-1 available? Many thanks in advance!
  11. That instantly reminds me of the glorious days of my first flight sim experiences
  12. That’s exactly what I meant! Thank you for the clarification
  13. Fantastic, thank you very much Thinking about it, it makes sense that only g load and speed are the relevant factors and the way how this g load is achieved (aircraft and wing design) does not matter. Considering that the MiG-21 and the Phantom have their highest possible g-loads at more or less the same speed, I see that comparing the max g is sufficient for comparing their rough turn performance, right?
  14. Hey guys! That‘s some very informative data here! However, could anybody please elaborate on how to derive the STR (and turn radius) out of those MiG charts that only show max g under a given regime. Thx in advance!
  17. Thx! What would happen if the missile is fired in boresight mode? Would it home on the jammer as well?
  18. Hi everybody, now that the new jamming detection functionality has been implemented in the AWG-9 I came to wonder what the proper procedeure is to launch an AIM-7 or AIM-54 in home on jam mode in the F-14. I could not find any documentation on it. Could anybody familiar with this topic please elaborate? Many thanks in advance! Chris
