T-55s aren't so hard to kill with rockets if your technique is correct. By following the procedures outlined in the quick start guide I'm able to kill 2-3 tanks in formation in one pass without much trouble. Are you using the sight mechanical caging lever and sight electrical caging button during your attacks? When used as designed they increase accuracy a great deal in diving attacks.
If you'd like to practice sometime, just drop me a line.

@invisibull, great you enjoyed it,...yeah i can do something for the f86 and mig15 as well.but will do it seperately.give me a few days though, as i am currently working on modpack1.1.
That sounds great, thanks so much.

Hi DavidRed, was on your server last night and enjoyed your new LOD mod a lot. Is there any chance you could give the F-86/Mig 15 the same treatment? I'd do the grunt work if you could point me in the right direction as i'm perfectly clueless about how to do this sort of thing.

I'll see how your mission works for me. Try the one I've included as i know it works fine in multiplayer. Best of luck. Looking forward to flying with you. :)
OK, tried your mission both in the mission builder and in multiplayer. No problem whatsoever. Not sure what the issue might be. I'll post back if anything occurs to me. Let me know how my mission played for you as well.

Hi Dark, step one would be to disable any mods you may have installed and click on the "Repair DCS World" icon found in your start menu under Eagle Dynamics.

Hi F86, Most people who come to my server use my label mod, which shows other planes as a dot at what i think is a realistic distance. I could never fly with text all over the place myself, but spotting other planes is almost impossible for me without at least the dots. You can get the mod here: http://www.digitalcombatsimulator.com/en/files/270020/ Try it out and see how you like it. Hope to see you back soon.

Mine is a work in progress, but it might help get you going. It's certainly not yet complete so I won't be posting it in the user files section anytime soon. Hope it helps.

Look for my Sabre server up most nights. (Eastern Standard Time) As for the connection interrupted message, I believe it's because some servers were running the open beta version, so updating wasn't the issue.

Will I be able to upgrade to a 970 without having to get a brand new Power Supply? Or would the 970 consume too much power for my 600W?

http://www.geforce.com/hardware/desktop-gpus/geforce-gtx-650ti/specifications
Minimum System Power Requirement for 650ti is 400w, for 970 is 500w
Here's a nifty little tool that should help you out:

Sorry if this has been asked or discussed elsewhere, but I'd like to know what will be done about modeling damage to be expected when pulling in excess of 7 G's (or over 6 G's when at an altitude of 15k or greater).
Also, can we expect there to be some sort of sound/change in flight characteristics cue as the G danger zone is approached?
As it stands now, only the blacking out affect prevents me from pulling well over 7 G's with impunity. The longer we go without some sort of damage penalty, the more people (myself definitely included) i think may develop bad habits in how they approach pulling G's.

*Improved performance
I certainly hope this includes the Pony/Sabre tracer lag. It's the single most important issue imo. The dedicated server option would be a close number two.
Thanks for all the hard work, ED.

Hi all:
I'm particularly interested in profiles that are especially suited to dog fighting in the Pony and Sabre. I'll start with one of my own which is OK, but could be better.
(You'll need to zip the file as xml's are invalid for upload)
Thanks,
Bull

I tried this but get a completely black cockpit.
Hi Shep, it should work fine. Any chance you grabbed the wrong file, or put the right file in the wrong spot? It's definitely worth trying again if you haven't already. If you're still having troubles, feel free to message me and I'll be glad to meet you on teamspeak/skype and talk you through it.

Very glad to help, N1tch, and congrats on your incoming trackir. You're going to love it.
-
Have you done any lube work on it as well? Or have you kept the lube as is?
No lube required as there's absolutely no stiction with this stick. My understanding is that that particular issue varies from stick to stick. I seem to have lucked out.
When i tell you that the feel is perfect, I'm not exaggerating. All it took was about $1.50 in springs from the local hardware store and 5 mins to install them. Can't hurt to try as the process is completely reversible.

This easily installed mod should help a lot for those having trouble spotting planes:
-
Eagle Dynamics\DCS World\Bazar\shaders\effects\PFXSmoke2.fx
rename or remove this file and you will not have gunsmoke in any of the aircraft anymore ....makes fighting in the f-86 possible
I normally just rename it to .Removed.PFXSmoke2.fx
This worked fine, thanks a lot, Davis.
How to fix the ponderously opaque canopy:
Swap the F-86F_Cockpit_glass.dds file from Grizzly's superb cockpit mod with the one found at C:\Program Files\Eagle Dynamics\DCS World\Mods\aircraft\F-86\Cockpit\Resources\Model\Textures\F-86F-35-CPT-TEXTURES.zip and Voila! you can see again.

Thanks for your reply, Cichlid. I sorted it out by using Joytokey.

Hi all,
For some reason, Trackir is reporting both the mini stick on the throttle of my TH Warthog, and the trigger on the stick as Joystick1. I want to use the mini stick as my trackir center, but now it's centering whenever i fire the gun. Any ideas what's going on?
Thanks,
Bull

Hi Grizzly, thanks so much for your work. Since this last update, none of the gauges show up when using your cockpit. The stock cockpit shimmers like crazy for me unfortunately, so i'm hoping that it wouldn't be too much trouble for you to update your mod.
Thanks again,
Bull

Thanks for this, Djent.

That was it, Fox, thanks. I guess it came about due to having added a distant friendly flight for the first time.

I've registered on your site. Looking good so far. Incidentally, I've been hosting a high realism F-86 interdiction mission recently that I think you'll get a kick out of. Anyone interested, just let me know and we'll get something going.
