  1. @Mike, I fly single player warbird stuff mostly and haven't encountered the same. I mean, yeah, they fly around with smoke, but eventually they crash, like they should. It might take quite some time, depending on the situation, but it seems to work fine on my end. No props? They glide until they glide no more. Isn't to say there's no AI issues i'm having, but more on the friendly side with the age old problem of aircraft going full berserk because of a simple turn. You're probably familiar with it. I can work around it by now when flying formation, but it's hella immersion breaking to have to go full brakes on your buddies and then have to take ten minutes to catch back up only to repeat, because of simple turns.
  2. Ok. Just to make sure: on your end, do formations form before you reach RDV at Ramsgate? In any case, thanks for checking again!
  3. edit: I've watched the video you posted above and the circles make sense now sorry I didn't watch that before posting, however in practice it doesn't seem to work with the erratic turning behaviors. You loose your flight every single time, sometimes you need to do a yoyo to slow down, but then you can't catch up because you lost speed. I must admit I need practice, but still.. The other flights are also all over the place mostly. Also I have an idea: the information you give in the video is very useful in understanding what needs to be done, is it maybe an idea to add it to the mission briefing? Now it still just states the headings for a straight course and an indication of a formation where Halstead Red is up front on the left.
  4. Mission one (I restarted the campaign). Let me try it again right now. I'll post an update here in a bit :).
  5. I tried a mission in the previous update which I had flown before and it seem the formations didn't form, different flights were all over the place. Because of the original jumble with take-off I had lost the rest of my flight and had no chance of finding them back. I'm talking flights being miles apart flying different headings. Will try again sometime soon :). Also diving into the MiG-21 and my track ir solution doesn't work when the sun is shining. Also: no mods. Also: not a complaint whatsoever, just a mention, I was just browsing this sub forum to see if AI troubles were being mentioned by others. Love your campaigns, just got V, will also dive in at some point. Also: no issues with keeping up, got used to being tight during Beware! Beware! :).
  6. Thanks, forgot to mention the flaps, got those.. Do you recommend using the stepped flap button mapping option for in the case of dogfighting? Or is it just max flaps/no flaps all the way? edit: have airbrakes mapped as well.
  7. Hiya, got myself a VKB EVO NXT space combat edition stick to pair with my TCWS throttle. I went through the mapping suggestions on youtube by grim reapers but as usual he's a bit sparse and won't mention why certain stuff is important. In any case, I've got a basic layout, but have plenty of buttons left, especially with the modifier. Does anyone have any tips on stuff I should definitely have on the stick and/or throttle? I've got the usual suspects for movement, trimming and shooting mapped, I've got ASP basics covered, mapped jettison belly, mapped countermeasures, target lock-on, Radar on/off - stby, select prev. and next weapons, pipper span +. pipper span - and emergency air restart. Any must-haves for start up? Any must haves for nav.? The reason i'm not sure on what is important or not is also that i'm coming from the warbirds. Different design mentality. Thanks a bunch! Also, if this topic is in the wrong place or a double, feel free to shut it down.
  8. I'm still downloading the update, but if the compass fix for the Spitfire means it has a lubber line now, it would be huge for immersion, for me at least
  9. Loving what i'm seeing with the new map, but i'm seeing it too late. When i'm flying low villages are flat (2d), except for churches, until i'm really close. Also at night, flying over Paris, lights pop in only as i'm about to hit a building. Are you also experiencing this? My draw distance setting is set to high. I've not been experiencing this with the channel map.
  10. Thanks a lot for taking the time :). Getting to grips with how the P47 flies. It's a lovely plane. I will definitely read your replies some more and try with those tips.
  11. Hi all, First of all, if there's a topic on this already, feel free to remove this one. Second: I love this module. My nickname for it is the Tuna, as the 'body' is exactly like a tuna to me: fat, yet streamlined :). It's providing me with a challenge, coming from the Spitfire. My tactics up to getting this module were mostly: get on someone's tail, pull lead, shoot. Someone on your tail? Out-turn and out-run. My first mistake (still prevalent) in the P47 is to think I'm in a Spitfire. I've been practicing dogfights against a BF109. Now the P47 has good dive-speed, but the BF109 always seems to catch up. Question 1: how to achieve ideal dive acceleration? I've learned not to keep the power of my engine up in combination with low RPM, but on the other hand I want low drag. That's a little puzzle I've been wondering about: High power + high RPM, vs. low power + low RPM + gravity. Question two is linked.. if this is not it, then what is the best way to get a 109 of your tail? Once it's there it seems stuck to me like glue, whatever I do. I can't seem to out-turn, out-dive or out-climb it. Overshoot might be an idea, but the Tuna doesn't feel like it likes scissoring either... In any case, its' not a frustration, I like a challenge, I like practicing, but just thought I might gather some tips here.
  12. I use the twist axis of my t16000m, because that's what I have. Secondary reason is that i'm disabled too. For me it works great, of course I haven't been able to try anything else, but using my left hand on the flippers of my throttle seems to screw with my brain. So twist it is! Enjoy flying!
  13. No VR here and new to the concept of DLSS, but if i'm reading right, it's no use for me with my 1080 right? Still great news for those with newer cards though.
  14. Currently right before the halfway point of Beware Beware, it's my first campaign. It's greatly immersive, but beware beware (hu hu) of the AI taxi and climb speed. And I had to turn on dot labels, otherwise I would loose my element right on take-off. On the other hand, damn, it teaches you how to fly that spit. I've had adventures. Sometimes without shooting.
  15. I now make do with a super-close snap-view. It's not perfect, but it works.
