  1. well well well, we got some Hellcat news! and photos. Directly from the official DCS instagram account
  2. They're really taking their time...
  3. Hey man not to brag, no hard feelings but I created this thread and it is a general F6F chat. guy just asked for some info on the FlyingIron F6F and MSFS. But ok we'll keep it on private chat from now on, we're sorry
  4. Hey there friend, I'll try my best to explain my thoughts. First of all, let's say that you won't need to export or repurchase your FSX scenery addons because, trust me, MSFS looks amazing on its own and doesn't need add-on scenery. The only thing that MSFS lacks now (at least scenery-wise) is proper a proper cycle of seasons but it will be added in the future. As for aircraft add ons, there is a free program that's super easy to use and lets you convert FSX aircraft to MSFS: personally, I've used it for quite a few add on FSX Planes, sometimes it has some issues in the conversion which may affect the behaviour of the aircraft, but generally it works fine and I've hardly have ever had any "conversion failures" with it (by "conversion failure" I mean when the program is not able to convert the aircraft to MSFS). You can download it for free on Nexus Mods and on another site which I cannot remember right now, just look up "FSX to MSFS Converter" and you'll find it. As I said, it's not perfect and it has some issues but most times it works fine, I think you will be able to convert most of your aircraft (I'm not too sure about the A2A accu-feel ones, but it should be able to convert the regular ones). Ultimately, it's up to you: if you want a sim with amazing graphics (and a better flight model than MSFS) that offers a "pure flying experience" without combat and your PC can handle it then sure, I reccomend it. If you prefer combat or you don't really care that much for super realistic graphics, then maybe buying MSFS is not necessary. There are also some great freeware modules for MSFS, you should check them out before buying it. Or at least there were, because now many devs removed their content from the "flightsim. to" site, which is a site with lots of great community-made free mods and content, as the site recently changed its policy and many devs decided not to use it anymore. I'm sure a solution will be found soon. I hope this helps, and sorry if it took me so long to answer but it's been quite a busy week with school and everything! I hope to hear from you soon
  5. I also have the Vertigo Studios' F6F, although to me its flight model seems quite unrealistic (which is fine, after all it's an FSX aircraft). I also have the F6F from Flyingiron on MSFS, and let me tell you it's an amazing, fun, accurate, detailed add-on aircraft that's really worth its price. I highly suggest buying MSFS, of course it's very different from DCS: they are two completely different sims designed for different functions and objectives, DCS is a combat sim while MSFS is more exploration and purely "flying oriented", but nonetheless even if you're a DCS fan I think that you'll love MSFS as it's an amazing sim that gives you lots of options and possibilities that DCS doesn't. Sure, you don't have the combat element and the level of detail in both the 3d and the flight model for some aircraft is lower than DCS', but I'm sure that you'll like it. Give it a shot!
  6. Unfortunately I don't think there are any audio books specifically about the Hellcat as of right now... maybe in the future! The plane and its pilots rightfully deserve one LOL
  7. real photo. beautiful isn't it?
  8. maybe if Mr. Grey actually owns a Hellcat developement will be faster? easier acces to aircraft for scanning, recording, flight model etc...
  9. As far as I know there were only Night Fighters with 2x 20mm and 4x .50 cals, but no variants with 4x 20mm. On the other hand, as @R.Z.said, some F4U variants were fitted with 4x 20mm cannons. Personally, I prefer the .50 cals, better ballistics and more ammo.
  10. while we wait we can also use the amazing F6F mod that Uses the Mustang's cockpit and flight model it's just for looks, as I said flight model is the same as the mustang's
  11. i too have the flyingiron F6F. great aircraft, but to me it feels a little too fast, what do you think? i too have the flyingiron F6F. great aircraft, but to me it feels a little too fast, what do you think?
  12. Any official news on the F6F from ED? also for anyone who is interested, there is a Main Thread for the F6F, it can be found here
  13. No I won't be salty. One thing that kinda annoys me is when devs don't release any news or updates for a very long time, so I'm hoping in monthly (at least) updates from ED when the Hellcat starts to be ready to be shown to the public
