  1. I recommend you get a better power supply. 18 Amp on the 12 V rail will seriously limit you video card choices and possibly the stability of your system.

    This one is pretty nice:

    http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16817139001

It is built by Seasonic and has a 5 year warranty. If you don't mind spending a few extra bucks, its big brother the 620HX is even better.

Review of this unit can be found here:

  2. Hm... Walternowi, sorry that I'm created "to small" field, but in text that you copy - not enough numbers...

    Ok, friends, thanks for information.

First impression - LockOn gives all needed info. But why VP close connection?... I'l try to investigate this, maybe needed some other test....

    P.S.

    Please check your Firewall settings.

    Mnemonic,

    Here is the entire string:

    0,00 222,78 259,72 1,44 1,00 0,00 3042,19 3002,19 0,03 0,00 1,57 0,79 0,00 0,00 1,57 79999,00 3040,00 -42000,00 79998,47 3042,19 -41999,96 0,00 0,00 0,00 67,50 67,50 320,00 320,00 5640,00 0,00

I check my Firewall settings and LOVP has access defined under the exceptions. Thanks again.

Sorry, I did not realize that. I will copy the whole string and posted here tonight.

Also, what about the firewall settings. What do you need to see?

  4. Mnemonic,

Thanks for the update. I will give you feedback as soon as I have a chance to fly tonight (after the kids are asleep).

    S!

    Mnemonic,

After I press "S" to start the mission, the numbers that appear are:

    0,00 222,78 259,72 1,44 1,00 0,00 3042,19 3002, 19 0,03 0,00 1,57 0,79 0,00 0,00 1,57 79999,00 3040, 00 -42000,00 799998,4

    Here is a screenshot:

    Hope this helps.

  5. hmm...

1 - Are you use downloaded LockOn version, or Disc-version?

2 - Do you have in LockOn directory - luaSocket.dll file? (sure - you have, but please look)

3 - LOVP cannot recognize one or couple of parameters that sended by Lua-script :(.... (or something else)

4 - At few days I'l try to create some debug-version of LockOn VP, maybe it clear the situation....

1 - Disc version, bought from Naturalpoint.

2 - Yes, the dll file is in there.

    Thanks again for your effort.

  6. Hmm... strange...

1 - Are you shure you extract INI file at the same directory that .exe?

2 - Send me to private message your "Error.log". It in the "LockOn1.1\Temp\" directory...

3 - what windows do you have?

    1. Yes, the INI file is in the same directory as the EXE file. I even tried to place all the LOVP files and the PIC sub-directory in my LockOn directory.

    2. I am in the office at the moment. I will send you the Error.log when I get home tonight.

    3. I am running windows XP pro SP2. The main screen (19") resolution is at 1280 x 1024, and the 8" touchscreen is at 800 x 600. The same problem was encountered if I used 1280 x 1024 resolutions for both screens.

    Thanks again for your effort.

  7. Mnemonic,

Nice tools. I ran into 2 issues:

    1) when I ran the .exe, the screen looked like this

    Gauges.jpg

I had to "right click" and then hit "restore gauges" to get the normal gauges.

    2) same issue as Grump. When I first open a mission, the screen said "connected". Once I hit "S" to start the mission, the screen became "disconnected". It happened for a MiG-29 mission that I created and the Quickstart Su-27 mission.

    Thanks very much!

  8. I finally bought a touchscreen and together with touchbuddy, they are an awesome combo. Setting that thing up is a breeze. Thanks to Zorlac for providing us with this tremendous tool, thanks to Wild.Bill.Kelso for developing the toolkit, and thanks to all the contributors who provide the profiles for someone as artistically challenged as me. I have not been so thrill about a new purchase since I bought my first HOTAS.

    S!

  9. Reason 4: Overclockability. The BIOS that comes with Dell or HP do not have options that let you overclock your system easily. On the other hand, latest BIOS for motherboards from companies like ASUS, Gigabyte, ... have tons of adjustment options.

Buy a budget processor (Core2 E4300 or E6300), overclock it beyond 3 GHz = MORE bang for the buck!

    Good luck!

  10. This is how I do it with the classic control panel:

(I think you have to download and enable the coolbits tool first)

    Control Panel->

    Display

    Hit the Settings tab

    Click Advanced

Hit the "your video card" tab

    Select Performance & Quality Settings

Scroll down until you see triple buffering

    NVControlPanel.jpg

By the way, I am using the 92.91 driver. Hope this helps.

    Cheers,

  11. I think you're right about trying to overclock first. Will try that and see how I get on. Thanks for the heads up on the noob guide.

DFI MB's dont support Opterons...which sucks!

They do support Opertons. My Ultra-D and Opteron 146 work well together. If I were to get a crossfire board, my choice would be the DFI CFX3200.

Like the others said, running the Opteron at stock is a waste of CPU power. I am currently running mine at 2.5 GHz at 1.35 V. Good luck with your overclock.
