  1. “Our mission briefing was at midnight when we learned we our first squadron would be taking off at 2:00 am with the other two squadrons taking off about 30 minutes later. It was to be our first night takeoff and the first of three combat missions on that historic day. Lining up in flights of four wingtip to wingtip in the pitch black darkness, the sixteen P-51 Mustangs of the 486th Squadron pushed their throttles forward at 2 am and in less than 30 seconds we suffered our first tragedy of D-Day. Lining up in the darkness with no directional visibility, the second flight roared off the big sod field slightly to the right of their intended direction. Seconds later, Lt. Bob Frascotti’s P-51 crashed int the new unfinished control tower being constructed on the high point of the airfield, bursting into flames which lighted the way for the following flights to takeoff. D-Day did not start well for us.“ Bob “Punchy” Powell, 486th FS, 352nd FG
  2. Was any of this included in 2.9? ” Development Report The new multiplayer server user interface adds more convenient ways for you to interact and choose aircraft slots in a multiplayer server. This capability, which has been a highly requested feature by the Community, will permit you to view all aircraft spawn slot locations on the map and to select directly from there. We also added a filter system for the slot list that will be built into the interface. So when a slot is picked from the list, the map view will jump to that slot location. Additionally, we are completing a new kind of aircraft slot that will be dynamically added by the filter system based on the availability and inventory of the airfield warehouse. This new dynamic system will not replace traditional slots but will add convenience for mission designers and will coexist with regular spawn slots. The system of dynamic slots will distribute spawns to parking positions automatically and will not need any additional placement of aircraft from the mission designer. When spawning in a "dynamic" slot, users will be able to choose aircraft type, hot or cold start and all parameters that are available in the rearming panel. We are in regular contact with community server hosts and content creators who are helping us greatly with their excellent feedback.” I looked and couldn’t find any indication of how to access it. Thoughts?
  3. The DCS F-4E Phantom II is slated to release into Early Access Winter 2023/2024. As we approach completion of the project, we will publish a more precise date, and we will keep you informed about the state of development all up to and throughout release.
  4. Don’t know where to post this, but after the 2.9 update, I’m getting erratic video from the landing gear portion of the plane. Happens on ALL maps. Using MT with DLSS. Somebody might want to check it out.
  5. What I’m trying to point out is that there are hot-staging areas at the eastern end of both Hatzerim runways suitable for between mission rearm and refuel operations. There’s a ready alert area under revetments on the eastern end of the southern runway that can and should fit Eagles and Hornets without problems and are drive through. Don’t try and use the tented parking areas on the western end of the northern runway for Eagles and Hornets because these parking areas were originally built for A-4s and just aren’t big enough for those planes to operate safely.
  6. Look to the period of the map. Sinai is an extension to Syria, and as such a “Cold War” map at best. Hatzerim was principally an A-4 base, though I Sqdn of F-4’s did operate there. If you are trying to put Hornets, Vipers and Eagles there, you are trying to put a square peg in a round hole. F35s would work there….
  7. Nicely done. Looking forward to these changes. I might note that some of those “revetments” that you updated for Tel Nof also exist at Hatzerim as well.
