  1. Hey guys, for my mods I have been using fake omni lights to create a halo like effect in the past. Today I found out this method now crashes DCS. Does anyone else have this problem? If not, how do you create the halo effect on your lights? Thanks in advance!
  2. Always looking forward to fly your missions SUNTSAG. Here's hoping you'll add a second F-16C slot for co-op multiplayer :)
  3. Did you get to try it out? Curious about your findings.
  4. Not to mention Hellfires that have double the range of the HOT missiles.
  5. Hi guys, wondering if you can help me out here. I have a few trucks preloaded with troops using ctld.preLoadTransport("transport3", 4,true). Right now this means that by default a truck is loaded with two AKS paratroopers and 2 RPG-16 soldiers. I'd much rather have only AKS troopers, in fact, I'd also like to know how to change them in to insurgent soldiers if at all possible. My questions are: 1: How do I define what troops are preloaded? 2: How do I change the troops from russian paratroopers to insurgent soldiers? I think both questions are pretty much related.. Thanks in advance!
  6. With 2.5.5 being in OB now, one of the features in the changelog is: "-Multiplayer. Reworked network transport for better handling of a large number of units." Wondering if the netcode changes only affect handling larger number of units or wether it has been optimized in general, making latency less of an issue for multicrew synchronization.
  7. Well the laser target designator on a Kiowa or any other equipped helicopter provides a laser target for any capable munition type, not only hellfires. You could help out any platform capable of dropping GBU's or laser guided mavericks for example.
  8. no, lods or lines are not needed. It probably has to do with the fact that dcs seems to have problems with certain height / width ratios when it comes to collision shells. Can you show me a screenshot of your model, either here or by PM?
  9. @Sephyrius: As stated on the Polychop Facebook page right here: https://www.facebook.com/PolychopSimulations/posts/1970712439901069
  10. I can't speak on behalf of Polychop but according to a facebook post I can deduct the following; Polychop is hard at work on a new project yet to be announced, this takes up most if not all of their time and might set a new standard for rotary wing aircraft. In the same facebook post they mention that they plan (a number of) updates for the Gazelle and the fact that they are waiting for the release of the F-14 with it's multicrew capabilities to see wether netcode issues have been resolved. Now with the new project being worked on and the F-14 release only a few months ago, it might be too soon to expect the mentionned Gazelle updates just yet.
  11. Moving the helicopter while searching for targets with the Viviane camera system is quite a chore in singleplayer. As far as I know the Viviane is gyro stabilized and does indeed not lock on to anything but tries to keep pointing in the direction of your last input. Fireing a HOT3 while on the move in singleplayer and even in multicrew is nearly impossible. Your best bet would be to find a place in cover, terrain, buildings or trees (trees can be a bit tricky when it comes to the magic eyes of AI ground troops), go in to auto-hover, and engage Auto-Slave. You can disengage auto collective so you still have control over your altitude so you can do a nice pop-up and hide back as soon as the HOT3 is off the rail as long as you keep visual contact with the target. I'm assuming you know this but just to make sure, when in autohover and in the mission commander seat, you press E, or whatever key or joystick button you bind to "Auto-Slave" to make the autopilot point the nose within the HOT3 employment envelope. +3 / -3 degrees.
  12. Does the base where you want to rearm actually have mistral missiles in stock?
  13. Awesome work there johnnypropeller!
  14. https://www.digitalcombatsimulator.com/en/files/1925303/index.php There you go buddy
  15. Try using the Trim: Nose up, Nose down, Left wing down, Right wing down bindings on a hat switch. These will work with the SAS and allow for very fine trimming settings. Trimmer reset to... well, reset the trimmer. As for adjusting altitude while in auto hover, use the "Auto-collective toggle" (default C button) to regain control over the collective. If you are at the desired altitude and want to free up your hands, press it again to reactivate auto-collective.
  16. You can use a number of pretty cool scripts to make the Gazelle act like an AFAC. I personally prefer CTLD which you can find right here: https://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=143107
  17. Oh yes, the looking through water / glass issue and strange warping around the sides of the field of view definitely has to do with the motion smoothing setting. I've experienced this as well. Disabling this option will surely take care of that!
  18. Thanks, work on this has been on the backburner for a bit due to my crazy times at work and figuring out some stuff to make AI interact with landingpads as well. Only last week I figured out how to make AI helicopters spawn and land on my pads. I shared this technique with Joe_Rowe who's making some awesome landingpads and heliports himself. In return he showed me how to add some cool functioning lights that will be part of some of my helipads now. I have to export all my pads and ports again with the newly found technique to get AI to use them and the ability to actually spawn on them. I'll try to find some time this week to finish that up and upload the first version of the mod. I'll also try to make an illustrated guide as to how to make helipads and other objects to stay horizontaly aligned, make them landable by AI (or set landing waypoints for players) and the ability to spawn on them. I will post that guide here on the forums. So far my mod includes not only helipads (regular rooftop pads you can place on existing buildings, slopepads, portable pads, logging pads etc) but also some other objects to create some cool helicopter focused scenrios, like a pier that will stretch out over water (makes for some challenging landings as well), tents and campsites, liferafts, downed pilot and more.
  19. Well this is really awesome actually. It is probably the closest to what I'm looking for. Thanks! I have a question about this though... As I'm mostly flying in VR, typing long strings might actually be quite hard. Does anyone have a solution for that? I'm thinking I could ctrl+c some predefined lines to paste into the marker but would it be at all possible to script a clickable GUI to work with this MOOSE masterpiece?
  20. Hey guys, I've been wondering if it's somehow possible to have for example AI howitzers or other artillery attack a player defined location, such as a marker placed on the map? For example, in a mission I'm working on right now, one of the key tasks is to recon an area with the Gazelle. I'd really like to be able to call in an artillery barrage that is not pre-set to a certain zone or trigger area as the targets move and I actually want the player to figure out it's location (grid coordinates) and do just a little bit more than just use a pre-set radio command to call it in. Maybe mark the location on the map and have a howitzer battery respond to that? The Gazelle for example has the ability to calculate exact coördinates using the Viviane camerasystem but as of now it looks like there is no way for me to call in any firemissions on user defined coördinates. Anyone here who has any good ideas when it comes to this?
  21. Awesome, glad you decided to continue developing this campaign Suntsag! I will try out mission 2 today. I can't help but want to share my vision on the points mentioned by Sc_Neo above; Unlike Sc_Neo I didn't have any problems catching up with the Russian helicopter but I can imagine starting gazelle pilots might take a bit longer to spin her up. I did notice the coordinate problem, but continued to enter them into the NADIR with exception of the last number. Got right where I needed to be. The flare thing, unfortunately the only alternative would be a smoke marker which I like even less than the flares. But maybe you could set a delay so only one flare per 20-30 seconds would be fired? As for co-op, I'm all for that! Except I'd really like it to be all about gazelles so I'd like to have an extra gazelle slot for a wingman / escort.
  22. Very glad it got resolved BlackPixxel, I will post the screenshot of the option that needs to be unticked here like I did on the discord channel for others to see as well.
  23. Finally got around to play the first mission, even though I just transported two guys from A to B I loved it. How's the rest of the missions coming along? Any news on this?
  24. The minigun (and M) when te multicrew worked :(
