  1. Last "pre-purchase" plane for me. Such a a shame because the Harrier (and its role) is such a great plane. The community is SMALL devs. I guess, when your companies fold you can all get work making Star Wars games and such
  2. then your 15 years here are wasted... good job. let me know if you need any water while you're up on that cross. DCS needs to finish its planes... its not easy but it needs to be done for their survival
  3. i agree with viper..... we are frustrated and being polite isnt getting us working aircraft. The A10 took about a year to get everything working. Im halting any purchases until DCS moves forward. Mirmidon, we dont need you being our shepard and talking down to us.There are always bullies like you in every forum and you are tiresome and shallow.
  4. Well I ran two sorties last night with AGM-G's and used the stopwatch... both times the missiles armed at 2:58. It appears that the latest patch fixed the issue. Both sorties I switched into A/G mode and selected the IRMV on the stores MFD page (i did not select another weapon -which were GBU12's). The first sortie i turned on the master arm and the second sortie i switched on master arm after the AGM's readied up. Both sorties the IR cool was left off. thanks for looking into this everyone.
  5. my experience with this issue did not have any aim9's on board but i did have GBU12's which i did select. The AGM's did eventually warm up (10 - 20 mins) regardless of what i selected
  6. in my opinion, I would say this is a low priority for our harriers. I seem to bounce pretty well sometimes on the carrier
  7. Ive used the Helo FARPs too with the harrier loaded to about 26,000 - 28,000 and it takes off ok.... just need to nurse it up to speed. I back the jet up to one side of the pad (before refuel/rearm) and get a small running start as well. Personally I would think a combat jet loaded with weps would not be able to perform a STOL on grass unless it was compacted a lot
  8. MVGAS... thanks for looking into it but I dont think a track would be much help. here are some observations; -I initially thought the targeting pod needed to be in point mode for the uncage to work but it did not help. same with using the DMT -I have cycled A/G mode and master arm with no effect (AGM still in stby) -I have selected different weps with no effect -cycling MFD the button under the stby multiple times did nothing -Each time I tested them they eventually did come on within 10 - 20 minutes thanks Jeff
  9. Well I just did 2 more missions and they came on but it took about 10 minutes..... Does the "IR cool" switch have to be on?
  10. great job guys! The harrier is the best plane Ive ever flown in sims.
  11. OK thanks guys.. I will test further and post a track.
  12. Just noticed after the latest patch that the maverick "G" missles are on standby for about 20 minutes. They will eventually come on. I have tried troubleshooting and nothing seems to make them come out of standby in the usual 3 minutes. Before the latest patch they seemed to work fine. I didnt want to submit this as a bug report until I could confirm others are seeing the same issue. Thanks Jeff
  13. as already mentioned.... RedKite's videos are very well done and he knows what he is doing. I have seen other videos that are wrong or take a 5 minute subject and stretch it out to an hour so the video creator can hear himself talk. I find video training is best for general learning and getting Myself started.... Then I will read the manuals to gain further knowledge
  14. mine used to do this but i switch them off between salvos and they work properly. i have mapped the #7 ACP button to my HOTAS to make it easy to cycle them
  15. they hit trees and buildings a lot if you dont launch at enough altitude
  16. I understand and frankly agree with the frustration with the TPod.... The thing I cant figure out is why the Pod in the A-10 worked 8 years ago and for some reason it just cant seem to work in our new planes that we waited 7 years for. Can DCS not use the currerntly working pod mechanics in any pod (more or less)?
  17. I assigned button 7 of the armament control panel to one of my hats so i can turn sidearms on and off easily and it works flawlessly. my gun has never fired using this method

    Sidearm bug

I have noticed that the gun tends to be on a lot, especially after I drop all of my bombs. I usually switch it off when Im using the sidearms. I have recently mapped the #7 button on the ACP to a hat switch so i can easily turn my sidearms on and off and its working 98% of the time now. I just make sure I have enough altitude for the sidearm to make it to the target without hitting any trees or buildings. Wild Weasel missions are too fun now. hug those SAMs baby...
  19. personally, i think they should post here... its a specific site that we use to solve issues and find help from the community... facebook has ads....ick

    Sidearm bug

sidearm works great for me.... just have to turn them off between launches
  21. thats what I was thinking too. But, I have to admit the FM is indicating the onset of a stall and the harrier has those tiny little wings. Many of the spins ive had I could recover from too. On the other hand, Some of the FM behaviors do seem unrealistic and need more tuning IMO.
  22. Ahh OK.... Thanks mvgas.... I mistakenly assumed the AoA was more relevant to lower airspeeds. Ill keep my speed above 400 when Im cornering. thanks for the help Jeff
  23. NeMoGas - It looks like you are inducing a large negative G on the airframe when you release the stick. I think it may be breaking one of the airlerons or elevators. MVGas - My AoA isnt relevant I think... Im cornering with my wings perpendicular to the ground, Entering the turn at about 500kts, pulling 6 -7Gs. As the speed drops to about 350, the plane will typically want to roll inverted and starting spiraling down. I can usually tell when the plane is starting to do this and If I reduce the G load, the plane will not enter the spin and I can start to pull hard again when the speed comes up. Im wondering if the wings having negative dihedral (anhedral?) has anything to do with it. Or maybe its just a bug. thanks Jeff
  24. yes... im carrying gunpod and sidearms with 5000 lbs. I was testing it some more and if I slightly let the stick off it seems to correct itself, then i can pull harder again. Just seems like it shouldn't be behaving this way at 350 kts.
