  1. Thanks all . Downloaded and finding my way carefully through it .
  2. Hi guys . Could some one tell me the safest route to change over from the Beta to Stable version . Not complaining at all about update problems or any of the recent strife in Beta land . It`s the only way things get improved and added . I just need to do some proper training without any unexpected hurdles to overcome . Only want one version on my drive to keep stuff neat .Thanks in advance .
  3. By golly and by jingo , i think you`ve got it sir . Went in to `Options` and i had 3 screens selected . Changed it to 1 and re-edited the snapdefaultview file again back to 75 and it`s running great . Thanks very much for the help Gregp . Must have just looked at the setting before and thought Eyefinity with three monitors must be set to `3 screens` . Thanks again .
  4. Thanks Lil`REB for the response . I have my monitors already setup as one display in eyefinity . The bezel comp is required or an odject passing from centre monitor to right or left appears to jump the width of the bezel . The compensation when set correctly makes it appear to pas behind the bezel as if it were your canopy frame . The post you linked is the one i had found previously . But after setting up eyefinity i have no issues with stretched menus or GUI . Thanks for taking the time to look though sir . Kuky , hello again . Had a little success altering the figures you highlighted . When set to 50 , the view and angle of the wings when turning your virtual head seem to be spot on . The knock on effect of this seems to be that my head position is too far forward . I can only see the top row of instruments on the panel . If i zoom out then we go back to swept wing look . I think there must be another setting that`s adjusted in conjunction with the ones you suggested , though i am not sure . Thanks for getting me this far though .
  5. Cheers Kuky , will have a go at that and report back .
  6. Hi guys . Hope someone can help me with this . Searched the forums already and found one post regarding this . But it doesn`t seem to work for me . I have 3 screens in landscape eyefinity setup . Current resolution with bezel compensation is 5928 x 1080 . Flying the A10 works a treat and the cockpit view and FOV look fine. But when i fly the P51D . The wings appear swept forward badly . I have tried adjusting the view angle in `SnapViewDefault.lua` , it seems to make no difference . Any of you clever bods out there , got any suggestions. This wierd view is really spoiling a great sim . Thanks in advance .
  7. Can only tell you about my own experience . I use an AMD 7970 with 3 Iiyama Prolite X2377 HDS monitors . My current reolution is 5916 x 1080 . The screens are nice responsive IPS . The bezel is about 14 mm on each edge . They overlap , so 14 is the width of the line at each side of my centre screen . Using ATI Catalyst bezel compensation works quite well . Making the bezel appear as part of a window frame that the image behind is obscured by . Took me about 5 mins to get used to it . Not sure what Nvidia setup would be like , check it out . Been using this setup for about a month and still tweaking FOV . But the immersion is much better . Landing the first time with them was breath taking . Not sure if i can help you much more . But good luck .
  8. Get one . It takes a little getting used to at first . With normal axis tweaking and dead zone adjustment to allow for when your hand is just resting on the stick .Especially on the lightest force setting . I have never had any centreing problems . And switching force setting on the fly is great for changing response actions depending on your current flight state . Whether light touch for combat and evasion or heavy for precision approaches . After just pressing the stick to execute a change of attitude . Going back to a standard joystick seems slow and frankly odd . And don`t worry about the stif throttles . They do free up after a bit of action .
  9. Hi Jeff . Do you have TIR ? I am waiting for Freetrack drivers to be compatable with Win 7 64 bit . So will just be using a hat for POV functions at the mo . Will try the setup as you have it . It looks similar to the one i have started . Will let you know if i come up with any ideas . May not be till next week now as big weekend planned .
  10. No probs sir . I`m sure i`ll be asking for help before long on something . As i said i want to get more serious about sim flying in the coming year . So following topics and getting involved is all part of it .
  11. I use force setting 2 and 3 for most general flying and combat and then use 1 for landing phase . Don`t forget you can alter the forces for each setting to make all of them a little easier . There can also be a slight drift if the centreing is not dead on . You need to increase the deadzone very slightly in game via the axis tune button under options . They are working at Saitek to have a re-centreing option in the calibration screen . But i have not seen it yet .
  12. Cheers Jeff and to you and yours . Have a great holiday .
  13. Only really messed a bit with it . Nothing serious yet . Really like it though . The pressure aspect takes a bit of getting used to , but can be a lot more precise , especially by changing force required for different phases of flight . A-10 feels good , but Black shark is going to take a bit of practice . Trying to balance flying sim time with clan play on Medal of Honour and my 3 kids . Want to get a lot more serious about the simming with A-10 in the new year . I`m sure you will like your stick when it arrives . The throttle stiffness does wear off after a bit , so don`t panic when you try it first time .
  14. That`s a nice piece of work sir . And i for one will be using it to get started . What do you intend to do for the 4 modes of each switch ? Use a sheet per mode or make the Button boxes a little Bigger ? Not a criticism at all , just wondering which way you plan to take this . Personally a sheet per mode may be clearer while learning and then all in one for reference as you get more proficient . Anyway thanks again . Was beginning to wonder if anyone else had an X65F and trying to use it with A-10 .
