  1. I played this yesterday. Nothing happens and by that I mean, nothing gets triggered. In Tacview I see fighting going on between a patrol and some insurgents but its while I'm starting up. Lots of other units doing 'stuff' but nothing interacts with me. Wingman taxis to runway very slowly, joins up, won't respond to 'attack my target' but will to 'attack targets of opportunity' and change formation. He won't however respond to a RTB command. Sigh.
  2. Installed this evening. Took ten minutes, very easy. Tested with Apache and instantly made take off, hovering and general flight much much easier. Aircraft felt much more stable without the pedals trying to constantly spring back and forth. Then tried P51…same impression. Definitely a massive improvement. A really worth while upgrade.
  3. Update from DPD, expecting my damper kit today. @cow_art thank you for feedback, will follow your advice.
  4. Ordered mine 3rd January, no sign of it yet.
  5. You need something accessible offline. I have limited PC flying time so a manual in the cockpit is useful, but secondary to one accessible outside it.
  6. Decided to give Gazelle a go last night via free trial. Mapped axis, trim and view zoon then flew around Normandy for twenty minutes. Sold. Bought the module this morning. Seemed straight forward enough to fly (compared to Apache, Huey and Hind) and I love the forward visibility.
  7. I lived in central London for 40 years and know the areas in and around lots of the map very well. I took a drive in humvee and the elevation map is way off in the parts of central London in which i drove. For example, there are what look like steep hills between regents park and the west end (which is where Buckingham palace and Trafalgar square is) when in reality it is virtually flat with only a very gradual change in elevation. I wonder if this is due to the granularity of the elevation mesh and how slight changes are hard to create. Also, the scale of some roads feels off in places - they feel about ~20% wider in real life. You certainly can't navigate this rendition of London without the major landmarks they've created. Still, I think it is a great map and very evocative of the era. The handcrafted buildings and buses are particularly brilliant.
  8. I haven’t touched the hornet in months as I’ve been flying the ‘14 for my Air to Air hit. Thought landing the hornet would be a nice easy break from our more analogue friend…then I flew over the ramp. Holly crap. Burble and pitching over the ramp is crazy. This really doesn’t seem right…certainly can’t fly the ball to touch down. F14 landing is waaaaay easier. Who would thought?
  9. The solution I’d like to see is: Ghost AI pilot control position indicators displayed On player returning to pilot position aircraft retains AI control positions (ie player control inputs ignored) player matches AI ghost control positions and presses trim to regain control of aircraft Similar approach works perfectly in the Huey using its crew autopilot.
  10. I'd imagine it's not a perfect system in real life and ED just use a random number to model this rather than make some unnecessarily complex algorithm. See all those KA52s getting shot down in Ukraine? Clearly advanced CMWS and counter measures are not impregnable defences, so don't rely on them. As important is tactics and intelligence of operational area / target defences.
  11. Hi, I own both the download version of Blackshark and the upgrade to BS2 but I’m not getting the discounted price (asking for $69.99) when I add to my basket.
  12. Hmm, I own the non-Steam version of BS1 & 2 and but when I go to purchase (whilst being logged in) it wants $69.99
  13. I just finished the campaign and absolutely loved it! Immersive, challenging but most of all fun! I'm wouldn't consider myself a very experienced Huey pilot (25hr after this campaign) but I'd been playing around in some of the medivac single player missions and had got proficient enough to hover and land a light bird - a bit of practise in a fully loaded Huey might have been a good idea though... Difficulty level was set just right with the amount of enemy units and AAA. The tick-tick-tick of getting hit really always had me on the edge of my seat. The voice acting was excellent and the missions were varied and interesting. I'm glad there were only 12 missions as now I can stop itching to find time for the next one! I had no idea how to use the radio before I started the campaign, but it quickly made sense. Only other tips I'd give are: (1) make sure you know how to align the radio compass to match the magnetic compass (2) know your short cut to auto-pilot level flight and (3) keep an eye on your EGC temp gauge - easy to burn out the engine if you're not careful. Brilliant! 5/5
  14. I have the exact same problem. Can't map cargo unhook to my warthog. Very weird.
  15. Taken me about five attempts to complete the first mission - can't wait to get stuck in to the others!
  16. I look forward to seeing if I can find my way round London and drive down to Dover.
  17. Doesnt the radar switch to flood if the lock is broken, so if the target is near the ADL it may still guide?
  18. Oh pretty please let something be done about this. I didn't know about the LUA mod of past, that would be a simple quick fix.
  19. From release I've found the nose drop in two phases of flight: decelerating towards 40kts and passing 70kts - both require hard pulling back of stick. I wondered if it was a bug.
