  1. It will be interesting to hear your thoughts on how this simulation sizes up against its big brothers. Your in for a treat!
  2. Jaw droppingly good work! Nice!:worthy:
  3. I could be way off point here, but it sounds to me like you have a large rudder input trimmed as your taking off. Do you use the contorl inputs box (R Ctrl+Enter)? I always try to make sure the rudder is centered when I release the trim button, because even if you trim a heading, a large rudder deflection will stop the autopilot holding it and you'll end up yawing all over the place.
  4. Don't feel like that SDeath. Your checklist is excellent! No harm in having two different styles of checklist in the same place - especially when they're both so good!
  5. nice checklist. I like the technical presention. I would however, suggest you reformat the layout so it fits more comfortably on 2 pages of A4.
  6. Thanks for the replies guys. I need go back and get screen shots of what I'm doing. Hopefully once I post them you can tell me what I'm doing wrong.
  7. The thing that amazes me about BS is that just flying around is fun - blowing stuff up is the gravy! I remember initially being disappointed about the terrain engine, but it has grown on me, I love the huge forrests, valleys and hidden little towns. Having said that, it's not perfect - never will be - but damn it's fun! :-) Did I mention I think it is the most stable v1.0 computer game I have ever bought bar none. These days that really counts for something.
  8. This looks very promising, even though i can't understand any of it. I'll have a look at the links in your sig when I get home.
  9. Does doing this mean you only have three different levels of zoom - min, normal and max? I was considering trying to map the view zoom to the mouse wheel on the Saitek - that works well you press the esc key and you get the mouse look activated because it zooms in discrete stops.
  10. Okay, after a hour or so this is beggining to frustrate me. Want I want to do is create four map points which will be loaded into ABRIS when my mission starts. From the manual I undertand I must use 'prepare mission', add my addititonal info, save it (as per 3-24 of the manual), exit mission and then save in the mission editor. Ok. However, when I fly the mission the map points do not appear. I have the correct folders in my mission file when I extract it (the addional, route and navigation and routes .lua's) I then went into the mission editor and prepare mission again, go to Plan, loaded my route, but the one thing I changed (the additional data) is not there! As far as I can see the procedure for saving is very simple, but I must be doing something wrong! Create points, go to DTB, onboatd storage, highligh additional info and press SAVE FSK. What am i doing wrong???
  11. What size paper is the manual printed on? A4 or A5 like the Lockon manual?
  12. While I whole heartidly support your sentiment, I doubt ED are making any money on the manual (or very little). I think it is more for our benefit than anytrhing else. If you want to support them buy a copy of the game for a friend and get them hooked on sims!:smilewink:
  13. Thanks for that Skypat - you seem to have the answers to all my questions lately! I take it you did your adustment in the BS axis mapping panel, not via the saitek software? Could you post a screen shot?
  14. Now, here's a thing that has been bugging me from day one with BS but I've just lived with it: I currently have the zoom view action mapped to a rotary axis on my x-52 and often find I get a zoom-in / zoom-out 'juddering' that requires me to fiddle with the rotary until I find a sweet spot and it stops. I used to have zoom mapped to the slide control where it would also do the same thing. Has anyone experienced a similar problem and did they come up with a solution? I have mapped the zoom to the rotary from within the game itself.
  15. Whenever I get Apaches in a mission its time to pull the yellow and black handle! They smoke me every time! Hinds I can just about handle. I think the only time I smoked two Apaches was when i'd accidentaly left invunerability on from some mission testing and then was amazed as their 30mm rounds ricocheted harmlessly off my bird. Closed in on 'em and smoked them with my 30mm in manual mode. A hollow but fun victory! Back to your post: I think some units in the missions are randomised and if your lucky all the bad stuff (or less of it) isn't activated. I must say though, I do hate it when you fail a mission because your ground units roll ahead without you and then get slaughtered without even so much as a 'we need help' message. I guess Wags was making a whole load of missions and couldn't get that level of detail and syncronisation into every mission. If the mission is the one I think your refering to, I intend to edit it so that the ground units wait a bit before moving forward. :smartass:
  16. Wow! I had no idea about this mod! I'm definitely going to try this one out at the weekend! One question: it's not goin to remap any of my X-52 buttons or axis is it?
  17. Who is (or who's) that (person) Whose is that (thing)
  18. So would I! (but I'd prefer something a bit more racey!) Lets hope ED have some good contracts in the pipeline - I suspect they do but they probably can't talk about them!
  19. Seeing as what ED will produce in future depends on what contracts they get from the military, I think the question that needs to be asked is what military contracts are ED working on at the moment and does ED have any contracts lined up? Presumably the A-10C contract for USANG is (or nearly is) completed if ED are able to divert resources to creating an A-10 DCS module. Also, the implication of this policy is that if ED does not get a contract to create a training tool for an operator of the AH-64, then we will never be seeing an Apache DCS module! Who knows, the next DCS module could be "DCS:Mi-8". Not quite what some people are expecting...
  20. Another fun mission Mbot - I found the comms to be both atmospheric and useful. Keep 'em coming!
  21. Enjoyed the mission MBot - mainly because of your voice comms. I really liked all the messages going about. Well done! Oh, I would have put a TP right on the tree line. That way there can be no doubt about where you want players to attack.
  22. What crew? There isn't one (in the game anyway).
