[INVESTIGATING]Weapons behavior on F-5E and MiG-21Bis
MonnieRock replied to riojax's topic in General Bugs
We are all human and make mistakes. It takes a man to admit a mistake has been made. You Sir, Chizh, I shake your hand. Glad you are here interacting with the community to make DCS the best it can be / will be through this type of leadership you have displayed. Thank you, Monnie -
In real life, would the OLS have to be adjusted for the differences of tailhook-to-pilot's eye distance for each aircraft type (F/A-18C / F-14B)? If so, will this be modeled?

Don, Wish list items belong in the wish list section of the subform if you wish them to be put on the list.

At the very least before even looking at the ED store page for the Super Carrier module, expect to see a sticky in this forum section similar to this: https://forums.eagle.ru/showpost.php?p=3285514&postcount=13

 I agree with your sentiments regarding the Super Carrier Module. Owning the Hornet, Tomcat and, Flanker D modules, still going to wait.

:music_whistling: Curious when the Negative static stability will be corrected to Neutral static stability :helpsmilie: I was told it was reported by Wags almost a year ago

Was this in the patch change log? Happy Simming, Monnie

I concur, with the TM Warthog trim hat, the input is much too coarse. Even a micro bump sends you rolling in the other direction. For example, test to see how much one quick press of trim on the keyboard is compared to a micro bump of the hat switch. Happy Simming, Monnie

When will the A-10C Module move to the Keyless system from the Starforce DRM? Happy Simming, Monnie

This is an important aspect (Night ops) of the super carrier module. Would like a official response from Wags. Happy Simming, Monnie

DCS Voice Chat, Dedicated Server, Sound Card
MonnieRock replied to MonnieRock's topic in Voice Chat Bugs
Not asking about clients. Does the dedicated sever need to have a sound card for clients to be able to use voice chat? Happy Simming, Monnie -
Hello, When using the Dedicated Server package, adding DCS Voice Chat, does the stand alone Server machine need to have a sound card? Happy Simming, Monnie

Early Access, Open Beta, Stable, Release, what does it all mean?
MonnieRock replied to MonnieRock's topic in DCS 2.9
Thanks Big Newy for your reply. From what you said, I see now that Release, Stable, Open Beta and, Early Acess will all have bugs and incomplete features. The only advantage of Release / Stable is no crashes. Happy Simming, Monnie -
Early Access, Open Beta, Stable, Release, what does it all mean?
MonnieRock replied to MonnieRock's topic in DCS 2.9
Is that your personal opinion on what is crippling or not? What about release version only having modules that have reached release version status? -

What is a "crippling bug"? -
I have always wondered, why have EA products in Stable / Release? :dunno: Red = Open Beta, Early Access, incomplete, bugs. Green = Stable version, Release version From the store page: Let's look at a few key sentences: 1) As with Early Access, Open Beta is an option and may not be for everyone. 2) If a "blocking bug is present in the Open Beta, we always have the Release version available. This is why the Release version is sometimes called the Stable version. 3) Early Access is an option for you to play this module in an early state, but it will be incomplete with bugs. 4) Once the module exits Early Access, you will automatically have the Release version. Options Given: 1) Open Beta, Early Access, incomplete, bugs. (For those living on the edge that except a compromised experience and / or want to beta test.) 2) Stable version, Release version. (For those that who wish a trouble free experience.) Do we really have options: An Early Access module can be played on both the Open Beta and Release versions of DCS World. :dunno: If Early Access is synonymous with incomplete, bugs. why is it in Stable version, Release version? If Stable version is synonymous with Release version , why is it not only modules that have reached Release version status? :dunno: Happy Simming, Monnie

Challenges with bugs VC, Yes, it takes practice and some good advice here from others. An ex-horent pilot gave me similar advice to what Guppy gave. Get out over open water and get in PA Mode, Dirty, Trap weight, 800ft and learn the plane just flying a straight heading. Practice holding 0 VVI (holding 800ft), then practice ±100 VVI and back to 0, then ±200 VVI the back to 0..etc...over and over. Going 800ft to 750ft the back to 800ft, 800ft to 700ft then back to 800 etc etc. Till you feel like you are in control, not the plane controlling you. Doing all of this with power only. No control stick. :joystick: Then do the same thing once you have a good grasp but, in a 27°-30° bank. Then practice rolling in to that bank and rolling out of that bank to anticipate the changes in lift while maintaining a certain VVI / altitude. One thing you can do during this exercise while first learning is, set fuel to unlimited, set the weight at trap weight so you remove the variable of weight changing during your exercise from fuel consumption while first getting the hornet mastered. Another thing is, with your throttle, make sure you are not inadvertently going into after burner. What I do is, I set a mission to start on runway at Batumi( close to sea level). Zero wind, 21°C. Start the mission, get in the cockpit then activate active pause, Now you can adjust the curves of your throttle as if the plane is chained down and get 100% Mil thrust without AB just where your detent is. Look at fuel flow, nozzle position, and huge flames out the back :megalol: Now you can slam off to full mil on command without inadvertently going into AB. Challenges If all of that was not enough to master, you have some challenges that are out of our hands which are some bugs. Pikey is correct with the weight bug https://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=247311 The Dimensions of the Stennis model are incorrect https://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=230109 In Powered Approach Mode, the F/A-18C has a flight modeling bug. Should be neutral static roll stability. Current bug is the Hornet has negative static roll stability. Happy Simming, Monnie
