  1. I'm no expert, but i do know that MSTAR radar can pickup infantry in a somewhat close range, i'd have think that the MMW radar of the Longbow was also able to pick it up, may be there are left out by the filtering process ? Or it simply can't ?
  2. Hey hey hey ! Poorly made drawing are my thing ! find your own bruh ! [Joking]
  3. Hello folks, Is there a way to save the target classification whenever you save the FCR Tgt ? Yeah i know it sounds confusing... Whenever you scan, you detect target and classify, if you engage them you'll have the icon, grid etc, in the SHOT page. Is there a way of saving target and having their class instead of going T01/T02 etc ? I've look trought the manual and it's not in there. Thanks'
  4. This might be possible with AEGIS "Automatic engagement" function, but on the AH64D, the Longbow radar is not powerfull enought to be an all seing eyes and is limited by many factor, terrain being the first.
  5. new question : Can you set up grid, drop, lase somewhere else and then stop lasing after few seconds if the LJDAM will go to where the laser was or where the gid was set.
  6. If you guys "Cold Start" do you turn on the FCR ? Then do you "unpin"-it ? (UTIL -> MAST -> PINNED / NORMAL). If FCR is "ON" and "UNPIN" then : Go to FCR page, make the FCR your SIGHT, go to Single or Continuous Scan, i'll suggest "Continuous" as the radar dont "magicly pick up everything at one" it need time to scan and classify, well from what i've experienced. I recal Wags saying the FCR computer need 30 seconds to provide targetting info (or something alike). To consider : LOS seems to affect the Longbow radar, no seeing trought building or deep forest.
  7. Yeah i'll be more specific : With FCR "On" : Press TGT button on the left of the FCR screen; With the cursor, select your radar contact (IIRC you have to click on it); This will generate TGT on the right side of the screen, T01, T02, etc; That being done; using ACQ fonction (no matter the page your on), go to COORDS -> TGT, there will be the list of your radar contacts. You can now slew the TADS (when made sight) to the ACQ wich would be a radar contact. This work perfectly fine against stationnary contact, i doubt it would work as efficiently on a moving target as the grid would have obviously change. If you go in the "SHOTS" tab, there will be an icon, a time and a grid of whatever you engaged, i havent figure out if its the aircraft location as it says "OWN" or if its the actual target location and the "OWN" meaning my ship was the one to engage (assuming i can share my data with my flight that would make sens) That's all i know so far, it's a nice workaround till C-Scope and LINK
  8. no but you can save your targets with the TGT Tab and then slave your TADS using COORDS TGTs'
  9. Yeah we tryed trought TSD and trought COM Page. So ill recap, i ME the AH64 properly (i think), we start up the server, we get inside 64's startup etc, and then we tried to send message, FARM etc, didnot worked. So i thought that may be "FM2" radio wasnt a proper radio but it would not make sens to be able to choose a wrong radio in ME and we switched to Preset 2. On he's side it worked well, but not on mine, could not send anything out, just receive, we went trought all the page trying to figure it out and we couldnot. Whenever i press RPT in TSD, i could see is ID in the list on the top row, select (box) him, then press SEND, i got a XMIT NAK UHF no matter the radio highlighted in white in the com page. He's POSIT, WP, TGT went in, but i could not share any of mine. I assume it's either i'll have to reconfigure the 64's or it is an end-user error. To add to this, i had several connection lost with the server, ill provide the 2 other tracks where he send me stuff. https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/1391nWeFPi9hPvf3cYYycbIpn8W9B0vTd?usp=sharing (had to put them on GDrive, they where too heavy for the forums, sorry) #Thanks for your support @NeedzWD40
  10. Sorry to necro this thread but i have a question, I've setup many AH64 in a mission, they all have their unique DL ID number and callsign, i've setup the FM2 radio on everyship on the proper freq (ie 40.00FM2), ingame i could see every ship part of the network but somehow, me and a friend couldnot acheive to send any data. As shown, the proper radio freq is set, the IDM rocker is on FM2, SID1 and SID2 (wich is me.) is part of the group etc. Ive read the comment about to calling yourself, this most likely not help but either way, he's chopper was setup the exact same way. While we f-around with the system trying to figure why it didnot work we tried "Preset 2 L2" for the sake of it, my friend could send me things but didnot receive any of mine, So what am i doing wrong ? i'll edit the DLs to remove ownship but otherwise, i couldnot figure it out, i've tracks too but i feel this is more a "used induce error" rather than a bug of some sort. Datalink issue.trk
  11. Sometime the mission goal is to be put into the most risked environment... ie Recon by Force, Breaktrought, Breaching, March to the Eny, Clear... I'd assume that grunts life are just way cheaper than AH64... Anyway im way to far off topic. Back on Topic; can any ED representative confirm or deny that the Longbow radar will use the same technology as the F16/18 radar ? will we have false positive ? will it have issue picking stuff up dependant of the aspect ? Clutter from the surrending ? Or will it be an all seeying eye that can see everything, all the time ?
  12. Isnt the essence of being in the military ?
  13. We must admit the hype around the machine kinda make it to be use the way it is in DCS, just like people would rush frontal assault with Tanks in any game 9 times out of 10. It is also quite hard to feel somewhat "integrated" into any "maneuvring elements/formations" and so on with DCS at it's current state... hopefully one day with dynamic campaign, but i'm not holding my breath to much as those kinds of thing are hard to acheive even IRL.
  14. So Flechette is realy the best we can hope for Air - Air ? I've read on a site that apparently you can set the fuze time on these, probably trought LRF ?

    GPS wepons

I'd guess that they are around the corner since if you edit the F15SE lua to allow them to be choose and that you PROGRAM 'Smart PACS' to access it, you can use the radar to aim and the lantirn.
  16. It's not a mod actualy, you just have to edit the F15E.lua
  17. JSOW-A work i tested it yesterday, GBU28 is the huge bunker buster made out of 105mm barrel, good ol' laser guidance, its just that ED remake the model for 2.9. Also I might be wrong but i think that PAVEWAY III are Laser/GPS on certain kit just not in DCS.
  18. that Epic! Thanks for sharing ! I can now use JDAM and JSOW ! Also, GBU-28 model have been redone by ED and it work too !
  19. Yes, i'm aware of the parralax and how it would affect an EO on a vehicle being on a turret or a pod on a plane, but the fact (or the impression) is if you start "hot" you're align in a way that is hardly (?) acheivable. So, i was woundering if there was any efficient setting use around so it dont struggle much with it. lol.
  20. Yeah i went to 60+ pitch trying to match up the alignement, it didnot worked well, so i was woundering if it was "my fault" or if it need some tweak from Raz
  21. Wags show he's video setting in the comms video, it clearly state DLSS
  22. Hello folks, What are your best setting for boresighting NAVFLIR ? Whenever i start "hot", my NAVFLIR feel somewhat aligned, but whenever i do "cold" i have to boresight it. I assume that depending on "pitch" you're either in "coaxial" mode ( at 0) or that pitch "zero" the FLIR to a "known distance" (IE: Pitch 15 will align at 15 nm -- i'm making this up to demonstrate). On the backseat there is a post-it that say "Pitch 1.0" but it dosent feel like it. Thanks'
  23. So in the end; The Datalink system (no matter how they call it and why) will be like the A10C one ? (let me finish) You'll be able to send text message to specific ship ? (its a nice mostly non used features sadly...) [End of the A10C comparaison], Then share threats and points (that you are likely to have if the mission maker didnot hide all units from MFD) and zones, wich is great to deconflict fire. Will you be able to share FCR detected target ? This might be behind the "classified" / "we dont want DCS to be this close to IRL" [paraphrasing Wags wich basicly said they control what capability they put in and how to not allow people to mis-use DCS, was a great interview] I suppose you'll be able to share Target Points ? This would proove extremely usefull for "seaker / shooter" or to increase SA having every one looking at the same thing. Now, he said that you have to send / reply answer (wich is logic since its not continuously broadcasting), how cockpit-mouse-clicking-button intensive that is ? Like if i wanna know where my mate is i send him a POSIT request ? I ask cause if you're are flying alone, flying and mousing is somewhat difficult (well to me, and i know about cursor) lol...
  24. Well he had time to tease us with FCR, could have show us a TSD real quick with an upcoming more detailed video... but your are right, it is named "Datalink Setup". We can see another helo and it's FCR scan (i'd guess PRI + TM ?), could not make anything else out... EDIT : Nevermind, he's "PANNING" so we basicly only see he's ship... meh...
